The man pulled the car over on the side and glanced at the fierce looking Zhao Anan. Then he raised his eyebrows seeing the knife in her hand and said calmly, “h.e.l.lo, Miss Zhao. My name is Yu Mo and I am from B City. I am 36 years old, divorced, currently single with a 7-year-old son. I used to be a soldier from special forces and now I am the captain of B City Police Office, the Director of B City Public Security Bureau, the mayor of B City. Are you sure that you want to rob me?”

Jesus, she had hit a rock!

Zhao Anan’s hand quivered, dropping the knife upon Yu Mo’s thigh.

Yu Mo picked up the knife expressionlessly, and gave it back to Zhao Anan. He said calmly, “Miss Zhao, you dropped your knife.”

“Mayor…?!” Zhao Anan stuttered. She was sweating.

She had been about to rob the mayor of B City? This Yu Mo had so many t.i.tles – a soldier from special forces, someone from the police office, Public Security Bureau?

Was he going to send her straight to the prison?!

Didn’t grandmother say that he was a supplier to their family business? Why had she not mentioned that he was a mayor?!

She had fallen for her trap again.

It was finally proven that she was not her real granddaughter. Her mother could not have been born to that old lady but picked from the dumpster.

Zhao Anan picked the knife and tossed it outside the window quickly. She forced a smile on her face. “Well… Mayor Mo Yu, I am so… sorry! I was just joking with you. Don’t take it seriously!”

Hearing how she addressed him, Yu Mo’s lips twitched. “Miss Zhao, my name is Yu Mo, not Mo Yu, please remember.”

“Oh, sorry, I was just too nervous to address you correctly. Sorry, Mayor Mo, I tend to get fl.u.s.tered when I meet important people.”

Zhao Anan’s fingers were crossed tightly together and sweat beads formed on her forehead.

“Don’t be nervous, I am not violent and I don’t have the habit of beating up my blind dates. If you are okay with it, I will keep on driving. Hmm?” Yu Mo was not sure if she said his name wrongly on purpose or she wanted to tease him. But he did not correct her mistake. He started the engine, driving away.

Zhao Anan tried to calm herself down and asked in a tentative voice. “Mayor Mo, are you really the mayor of B City? Why have I never heard of you?”

Yu Mo nodded calmly, “Yes I am.”

Zhao Anan waited for Yu Mo to explain further but he did not seem to have the intention to say anything else. She thought for a while, took out her phone and started to check it online.

Sure enough, this Yu Mo person was really the mayor of B City. But he had been in the position for the past six months. Earlier, he used to be the Director of the Public Security Bureau.

Zhao Anan wiped off the sweat from her forehead and asked in a surprised tone. “My grandmother said that you are a supplier to our store?”

Yu Mo nodded. “Yes.”

Yet again, he did not say anything further. That annoyed Zhao Anan.

This man talked so little, just like Jing Yichen. What would happen if he explained it fully?

Why not tell her how he could be both the mayor and supplier. Governmental officers were not allowed to run business nowadays.

But seeing his cold face, Zhao Anan buried all her confusion inside. Still, she was restless when so many of her questions remained unanswered.

The car stopped at a very inconspicuous tea house. Yu Mo got out of the car, came to Zhao Anan’s side, and opened the door for her.

Zhao Anan was startled and thanked him quickly, “Thank you so much, Mayor Mo, thank you!”

“Let’s go.”

Saying so, Yu Mo turned around and entered the tea house.

Zhao Anan ran to catch up with him.

The tea house was designed like a courtyard, one that resembled the ancient styled tea houses, elegant and cla.s.sical.

Zhao Anan grew up in A City and had been to many amazing places. But she never knew that there was such a lovely tea house in this city.

She followed Yu Mo to the elegant room and was startled when she caught sight of the man inside. “Cousin?!”

A handsome man dressed in a white s.h.i.+rt and coffee colored pants was sitting inside. He looked distant and lethal. He was none other than Jing Yichen!

Jing Yichen ignored Zhao Anan. Instead of standing up, he nodded to Yu Mo who had entered. “Come and take a seat.”

Yu Mo called him Master Jing courteously, and then took the seat opposite him.

Standing between these two men, Zhao Anan’s eyes were wide opened. She stood there, confused.

What was Jing Yichen doing here, on her blind date?

When he and Shangguan Ning went for the date years ago, she had left them alone. Did he not remember?

She won’t be able to run away in the presence of this annoying man.

Jing Yichen threw a look at Zhao Anan and frowned slightly, “Don’t keep standing there, sit down!”

Zhao Anan chose a seat that was farthest away from him, and pursed her lips. Her drooping face showed how displeased she was.

Jing Yichen ignored her expressions and said calmly, “I found you a job. You can start work from tomorrow.”

“What?” Zhao Anan couldn’t understand what was happening. A job? Why should she have a job? Why was Jing Yichen being so kind hearted to find her a job?

But the next instant, she hopped up excitedly. “That’s great! You are my real brother. You solved my problem.”

With a job, she won’t be trapped inside the villa any more like a prisoner.

Also, with a job, she would get paid. Then she won’t have to rob other people!

Suddenly she saw Jing Yichen’s scowling face. She said, “What job did you find me, bro?”

“You will go back to the University of X…”

Before Jing Yichen finished his words, Zhao Anan laughed out loudly. “To be a teacher at University of X? That is great, bro, you are so kind to me. University of X pays well, and I don’t have to teach much during the week. This suits me perfectly!”

She walked upto Jing Yichen in excitement and was about to pat his shoulder when she withdrew her hand halfway, after seeing Jing Yichen’s cold look.

“Oh, I just forgot that you don’t like being touched.”

Jing Yichen took out a file from his black briefcase and gave it to Zhao Anan. “Here is your certificate of employment. Keep it safe.”

Zhao Anan took it happily, opened it and saw what was written on the top.

“Hereby, Ms. Zhao Anan is hired as the Princ.i.p.al of University of X. The duration is three years.”

Zhao Anan’s file dropped to the ground and she stuttered. “Princ.i.p.al?!”
