Shangguan Ning was pretty aware of what she was capable of. She never thought of herself as someone beautiful, because Shangguan Rouxue had always been the prettier one.

Ever since childhood, there were numerous guys courting Shangguan Rouxue whilst only a few courted her.

She thought that she was not hideous, but not that strikingly beautiful, either. When she was praised, she was considered as someone with a proper air. That was how one was complemented, who had nothing else to be praised about.

So she could not believe it that Tang Shunian had been moved just by looking at her pictures.

There must be some other reason.

Although Shangguan Ning detested Tang Shunian a great deal, she had to admit that he was good looking, even his voice was catchy enough to compete with the most melodious ones out there.

It was relatively cold in the cellar, and Tang Shunian was dressed in a light grey suit and a dark striped s.h.i.+rt of the same color. He was not wearing a tie. His hair was short and neat. His nose bridge was tall and had moist thin lips.

Had Shangguan Ning not been aware of Tang Shunian’s real personality, she would have truly believed him to be a well-bred gentleman.

Unfortunately, however gentle Tang Shunian was behaving at the moment, she knew that he was an evil guy under the garb of human skin.

She did not want to talk with him any more. In a straightforward manner, she said, “Where is my husband? I want to see him.”

“Don’t you like this place? This is the palace where you are going to live in the future, aren’t you pleased with it? If you don’t like it, I can tear it down, and rebuild one for your sake. I need to build a golden house to keep a pretty girl like you in it, otherwise you will be exposed to others.” Tang Shunian did not sound p.i.s.sed. Instead, he was behaving like a gentleman, showing great patience.

Shangguan Ning threw a glance around the glittering hall and asked suddenly, “How old are you, Mr. Tang?”

Tang Shunian was at a loss of words. He could not catch up with Shangguan Ning’s mind but answered out of curiosity. “I am 36. Am I too old for you?”

“Oh, you were not born in the rat year. Then why do you like living in this damp cave?” Shangguan Ning looked confused as if she truly could not grasp the answer.

But Tang Shunian could tell how sarcastic her words were.

She was saying that he was a rat!

He preferred this kind of woman who was sharp and who had her own ideas and ways of thinking, not someone who followed his words just because she wanted to please him.

He was going to enjoy training this woman until she turned into a docile rabbit from a hedgehog.

Especially, when this woman was Jing Yichen’s wife!

“It seems that you don’t like it here.” Tang Shunian still showed a smile, except that it was gone from his eyes, and was replaced with coldness.

“It is alright, you will like it soon. It is hidden and full of danger. Most people come in but never get out of my underground kingdom. In the past many years, Jing Yichen has been the only one who managed to get out of here, and he succeeded only because I was careless. I am sure that you won’t be able to escape even if you try.”

Ignoring what he said, Shangguan Ning took out her phone and said, “Don’t you want the 100 billion? I have already got the money. Tell me your account number, and I can transfer the money to you. Of course, that is after you let me meet my husband.”

She truly was not in a mood to chit chat with Tang Shunian. Her anxiety had skyrocketed already.

Tang Shunian was a devil, and Shangguan Ning could not begin to imagine how much he had tormented Jing Yichen uptil now. She wanted to meet him as soon as possible and take him away from here!

“Ning, do you really think that you are in the position to negotiate with me? Don’t ask for too much just because I adore you.”

Shangguan Ning felt that his words were creepy. Without showing any expression, she said calmly, “I am not asking for too much and I am not negotiating with you either. This is what you must do to show your sincerity.”

She said as she put the phone back into her pocket. Then, she took out an exquisite pistol and aimed at Tang Shunian’s forehead, speaking slowly, “Am I in a position to negotiate with you now?”

Tang Shunian threw a look at the pistol aiming at him, then stared at Shangguan Ning in astonishment. He started to laugh wildly.

Shangguan Ning frowned and asked coldly. “Is it funny?”

Tang Shunian was out of breath because of laughing so hard. He waved at Shangguan Ning and said, “Hold on, let me laugh first. No one has dared to aim a pistol at me in so many years. How rare!”

Shangguan Ning was not sure what he was laughing at, but she did not drop the pistol.

Finally, Tang Shunian looked at Shangguan Ning nonchalantly. “Do you think that I am too stupid or trust you deeply?”

Shangguan Ning stayed silent. So, he answered his own question. “Obviously, neither. I let you in with this kind of dangerous weapon, because I know you won’t shoot me. If I die, Jing Yichen dies with me! Also, you will never be able to walk out of this underground kingdom. How does that sound? Want to still finish me?”

Shangguan Ning had known that he would threaten her with Jing Yichen and knew that it would not be so easy to kill Tang Shunian. This pistol was in her pocket for emergency, only.

She put the pistol back into her pocket and spoke without showing panic, “Since I can’t kill you, and I am under your control, then you don’t need to worry about me breaking my promise. On the contrary, you are in an advantageous place. But I need to see my husband first before I transfer the money to you, in case you break your promise.”

“Tut, I feel so tickled when I see you trying to be so smart.”

Tang Shunian raised his hand and reached out for Shangguan Ning’s face, trying to feel her tender and clean skin.

It was the first time in so many years for him to want to touch a woman.

Although he was not sure if he would puke after he touched her face, the desire to do so was already enough for him.

At least, he did not feel like rejecting her.

It was a good omen for Tang Shunian.

Seeing his outstretched hand, Shangguan Ning dodged it by leaning sideways. Then she took a quick step back, creating distance between them.
