"What would you like to do tomorrow?" Xander asked as he was browsing through the available activities on his tablet.
"Anything is fine with me, so you decide..." Yera answered as she sipped on the tea that Xander made for her. They were both sitting next to each other on the couch while looking at the beautiful scenery before them.
"Does this place have the same vibe as the area where you used to live with Dr. Song? Does it remind you of that place?" Xander asked as he gazed at the view of the rough mountain wilderness before them.
Yera sighed before she replied, "Yes, it does. Except, of course, the lodging. This cabin is far more luxurious than Dr. Song's modest home. But the mountains are similar... Although the other location was more remote..." Yera ended up telling Xander all the stories from that time of her life, from which she had learned a lot.
"Chief Doctor Song specialized in oriental medicine, so I really learned a lot from him, especially how to distinguish medicinal herbs," Yera explained.
Then she remarked, "I guess you've looked into me thoroughly." She was not surprised Xander knew almost everything about her because of his vast connection of contacts.
"Yeah, I did… You were Bernard's fiancee, and on the day Bernard died, a doctor recognized you as Dr. Yera Han. I had never seen you before, but your name was something that I have always been familiar with what with our hospitals being each other's rivals. So I just had to look into it," Xander honestly admitted.
"Well, it was the same for me… Even though I heard a lot about you, I never got curious enough to see how you look like," Yera revealed.
"Were you disappointed when you finally met me?" asked Xander as he straightened his back from curiosity.
"No. You're well-known as a playboy, so it wasn't surprising that you look good…" Yera answered nonchalantly.
Upon hearing her answer, Xander turned his body to face her. He rested his elbow on the headrest of the couch as he stared at her and said in a stern voice, "Hmm, look at me…"
Yera tilted her head sideways to face him and murmured, "Hmm?"
Her gaze was at Xander, who was now looking at her as he solemnly declared, "I'm not a playboy, okay? I admit I dated a lot, but it wasn't like what the rumor said… Other people can call me a playboy for all I care, except for you. I care about what you think of me, and I don't want you to think of me as a philanderer."
Yera did not know what to make of his statement. She did not see the reason why he should be defending himself, so she told him, "You don't have to explain…"
"I do. I have to, and I want to explain because like I said, I care about what you think of me. Honestly, you're the first and only woman who had caught my interest…" Xander added, which only earned him another confused look from Yera.
'Is he awake, or is he sleeping?' She wondered with a pursed lips. Xander seemed to be able to read her mind when he said, "It's not my sleeping disorder, okay? I'm fully awake… I'm saying that I like you, Yera."
'He's saying he likes you…' Her inner self repeated.
Xander released a frustrated sigh because Yera remained quiet as she stared at him in disbelief, so he added, "You don't need to say anything now. I just want you to know that I like you. I understand you, and as I said before, I will not force you to do anything that is against your will."
From the conflicted look on her face, Xander could almost see the mayhem that he had caused in her heart, so he smiled and pinched her nose. "Don't think too much about it and just relax on our vacation, alright? By the way, what do you want for dinner?"
"You'll cook again?" Yera asked when she could finally speak again.
Xander nodded and said, "Yeah… If we are not doing activities outside, I will be in charge of our meals."
Yera was so thankful that Xander changed the topic because she was really caught off guard by his confession… She did not know how to respond to it properly. It had never occurred to her that he would actually like her because personality-wise, they couldn't be any more different from each other.
She suddenly felt guilty because she was only using him to reach her goal… But then again, it was him who offered.
'Wait… Did he already like me at that time?' She mused at the thought but dismissed it because it was highly unlikely, considering they had only met each other twice or thrice before he offered her the contract. They were married legally and lawfully, but it was still done under a contract, and she would like it to stay that way.
Her thoughts were interrupted when Xander repeated his question, "So, what do you want for dinner?"
"Oh, anything will do… I'll just go soak in the hot tub for a while to relax my muscles," Yera said as she stood up.
"Alright… Let me join you…" Xander answered with a wicked smile. It was time to flaunt his s.e.xy body to his aloof wife.
Yera would love to soak her body in the warm water while wearing nothing, but she would not be able to do that if Xander joined her, so she objected, "Can't you go after me? Or you can go first... I don't want to go in together because I prefer to soak without any clothes on…"
Xander gulped at the thought of Yera's naked body. He then said, "Alright, then to make it fair, I will not wear anything either… Don't worry, you can go into the tub first so I won't see a thing. I'll even close my eyes if you say so. Please? Let's soak together. I want to relax my muscles too, but I hate being in the hot tub alone..."
Yera sighed in defeat and murmured, "Alright, I'll just wear my swimwear... Make sure you wear yours too," She did not have the energy to argue with him, but she still wanted to soak in the hot tub, so she willingly compromised.
"Yes, darling… I will… Promise…" Xander said with a big grin on his face.
