Cyrena gave her a clean handkerchief and dropped the used one on the table.

"Sorry mother."

"What is wrong with me today?"

"Someone must be thinking about mother."

"More like talking about me, stupid gossips."

"Go to bed on time today. You need to rest."

"Okay, find out the truth fast, time is ticking."

"Sure. I have made plan, I should be expecting my visitor any moment from now."

"Very good then. I shall take my leave."

Both of them rose from their sits. Cyrena moved to where her mum stood and held her by her waist, helping her move to the door.

When the got to the door, Lady Erwina stood straight and held her daughter's hand on her waist. "It is fine Cyrena. You stay and attend to your guest, I would be on my way."

"Alright mother. Do take care." She let go of her mother and stood aside, opening the door for her to step out before closing it.

"Any minute now and he would arrive. Phew! I'm tired" she said to herself while walking back to her seat. She sat on her chair and took the wine bottle in her hand, then gently poured wine into her empty gla.s.s.

She heard a light knock on the door. "Princess it is I, Mia. I have brought him" her maid said from outside the door.

"Very good, come in."

Mia opened the door and ushered in the man behind her, before closing the door and following suit.

"Good evening Princess" the man bowed, "You sent for me?"

"Yes, evening. You are Irving Brains, the Information tank. They say, you know every person in a business in the whole city and have answers to any question."

"Princess, my reputation far supersedes me."

"Very well then, you are useless to me, you may go while I am still being nice."

He bowed his head and knelt down, begging her, "I am sorry Princess. I didn't mean to offend you."

"Really, then you should know I am not one known for flattery and who beats around the bush."

"Yes Princess. Duly noted."

"Good. So tell me, do you know of any man who has the body built of a skilled a.s.sa.s.sin, doesn't gamble but one can find him in the gambling house... " she described the little she knew of the man to Irving.

"Hmm, skilled and doesn't fail a mission, big feet and body built huh!" He narrowed his eyes and furrowed his brows as he thought, "That should be the Void, Princess."

"Void?"

"Yes, but the Void I know may not be the one in this case."

"What do you lean by that, which case?"

"You forget your Highness, I am the information tank. I know you want to help The Greg's clear their name and if so, I do not think Void would frame them. He works justly, that's all I can say."

"Hmm okay, just arrange a meeting with him. I want to see him." She leaned in and picked up her gla.s.s of wine.

"How do you mean?" She asked him as she took a sip of her wine.

"Well, he doesn't go to his customers, his customers come to him. He is known for doing a clean and perfect job, so be it royals, Lords, or anyone, you must go to him."

"Interesting, what a man. Very well then, tomorrow night you would take me to him. Meet me at the west gate by twelve midnight."

"Yes Princess."

"Alright, you may go. Mia give him the pouch" she ordered her maid.

Mia reached in her cloak and brought out a white pouch, then handed it over to Irving.

"Thank you Princess."

Cyrena slightly nodded and waved her fingers. Mia understood and saw him out of her chambers.

"Hmmm, I hope you would be able to find something Amelia. He is being framed but by who? What do they stand to gain? Or was it that he hired someone steal the money, but he would need to pay a handsome reward for such."

She sighed, not really knowing what to do, she took another sip of her wine and closed her eyes.

Inside the small storage house at the side of the main building, a lady dressed in an all black attire and a black mask, is seen walking out. She rushed to the side of the big house and slowly made her way inside the house through one of the open window.

She hid herself carefully and waiting for an opening. Soon she sees two people, one older lady and another young girl who was dressed like a maid.

"Take these sheets and make the master's bed. Do it fast, he would soon retire for the night."

"Yes ma'am" the younger girl replied. She took the sheets from the older lady and made her way upstairs.

The masked girl followed slowly behind the maid, she watched her enter the room and waited for her. As soon as the girl left and went down the stairs, the masked girl entered the room.

She searched through the things carefully but didn't find anything. As she was searching through his things, she heard a whistle and the door k.n.o.b turned.
