If Feng Tianlan was correct, Shen Yunya must have ordered Jiang Ying to come there.

Mei’er looked at her with doubt and then turned around and headed downstairs. After a short while, Jiang Ying was brought upstairs.

Jiang Ying stood by the staircase as he looked at Feng Tianlan, who was standing up straight in front of the windows. When the wind blew, her hair was slightly lifted up by the breeze, exposing her handsome side profile. He couldn’t relate what he saw to the Shen Qingdai he had known in the past.

After staring at her for a while, Jiang Ying stepped forward and spoke in a gentle and shy manner. “Dai’er.”

“She said that you have returned.” Jiang Ying felt quite uncomfortable when he looked at Feng Tianlan’s smile. That smile was so strange. She was completely different from the person he once knew.

Feng Tianlan replied with a long “oh.” She then raised her eyebrows and looked at him, saying, “Then?”

“Ha!” Feng Tianlan couldn’t help but laugh when she heard what Jiang Ying said. “Don’t you think what you said is hilarious?” she asked.

He had peeled the skin off her face and dug out her kneecaps to save her. Besides, when she pa.s.sed out from the pain, he forced her awake to make her feel pain to the extent where she wished for her own death. It was too hilarious of him to actually say those words out loud.

Jiang Ying knew that she wouldn’t believe him. Hence, he added on anxiously, “What I said is true. Ever since spring, your health hadn’t been great. When you went missing, Ya’er looked for me and told me that she had poisoned you. She would only give me the antidote and let you go if I were to follow what she said.”

Feng Tianlan crossed her arms as she leaned against the window. When she saw Jiang Ying, who was trying his best at acting, she suddenly became calm as she asked, “What else?”
