Devil's Rise 122 A Savage Execution

I nodded my head in understanding. He was basically giving me a free pa.s.s to abuse his status as a reward. Even though he technically couldn't help me, the fact I was 'watching' his grandson would be reason enough for me to go domineeringly through this trial land collecting herbs. No savage beast would dare utter a fart after they felt the old one's mark.

This young devil lord wanted to stand on his own two feet, but this five-year trial had danger at every turn. To abuse the status of others was the proper way to handle this situation. Luckily this young lord was an expert at such things, although it was a bit shameful this young lord valued his life more than his pride.

With the elderly Stegosaurus gone, it was now just me and Chubs. Thankfully, the elderly stegosaurus didn't notice my u003cSoul Brandu003e on Chubs. I was quite proud of myself. This young lord's skills can even escape the senses of the elderly generation. I gave myself a silent pat on the back, then hopped back on Chubs'.

"Chubs, didn't you say some brute beat you back when you had found a nice herb?" I said.

'Yes, that raptor was a beast,' said Chubs.

"I understand, take me to his area, this young devil lord will exact revenge for you my little turtle," I said, patting Chubs' back.

Chubs was ecstatic once he heard I would go help him get his revenge. Chubs had been feeling bad about being beaten up for quite some time. He couldn't bother bringing it up to his grandfather, though. Thankfully, he now had his young lord to go help him seek revenge.

Chubs gleefully trotted off to go find trouble. It didn't take long for us to find the perpetrator. It was a multicolored raptor, guarding a cave. Chubs had no idea what was in the cave, but he had felt the scent of a precious herb within.

I examined the raptor guarding the cave. He had several blue and green feathers adorning the crown of his head. A long slender reptilian body, with razor-sharp talons on his feet. He was about 7 feet tall, but he looked like a sc.r.a.pper considering he had left Chubs in such terrible shape.

The raptor began screeching when he saw us coming towards his cave. As if warning us not to come any closer.

"There aren't any other raptors here, are there Chubs?" I said.

'I don't know,' said Chubs.

'When I found came to this cave before there was only him standing guard.'

"Well, it's time I stretch my legs," I said, as I got off the back of Chubs.

I eyed the raptor and unsheathed Destiny u0026 Freedom. As soon as I brought them out, fire and lightning scorched in front of me in an X shape. These two weapons had been upset they weren't able to display their full power when I had attempted to execute the gluttonous turtle. Now they hungered for battle to prove themselves, I could feel it. I had to feed them the blood of my enemies.

'Incinerate… It…' said Destiny.

'Messa pew pew,' said Freedom.

"It's good you guys are ready. This will be a life or death battle, I'm not sure if he would even respect the old one's mark when I attack. He's only a mid-Baron, so it shouldn't be an issue. Let's go," I said as I ran towards the raptor.

"SCREEECCCH SCREEECCHHH," said the raptor when he saw me charging at him.

'Is he calling allies?' I thought, hearing the screeching.

It didn't take long for my question to be answered. Out walked a raptor with red feathers adorning his head and another with pink feathers adorning his head. This would be a three on one battle. My blood was pumping fast as I continued my charge.

I sent an arch of lightning to the pink feathered raptor on the left to start things off. The raptor was nimble, easily dodging my first a.s.sault.

Right after sending my arch of lightning, I sent a pillar of flame to the red-feathered raptor on the right, as he dodged my a.s.sault.

"You fell right into my trap," I said as I came into the melee of the third raptor who was originally guarding the cave.

With the two raptors to the side dodging my attacks, I executed the one right in the middle.

Fire and lightning intertwined as my u003cTri Slashu003e landed square center on the raptor's chest. Blood started squirting forth like a fountain. It had been a long time since this young lord could let himself free. I would relish every bit of this battle.

After getting into melee range, I slashed Destiny out, beheading the blue and green feathered raptor in one fell swoop. I had knocked the savage beast off balance by my u003cTri Slashu003e so it was the perfect time to execute it.

I flicked down Destiny as the blade ignited, incinerating the blood that had stained my precious weapon. I panted a bit as I looked at the other two raptors who had dodged to the side.

"Rawrwrwrwrwr," screamed the pink raptor as it saw the green-feathered raptor be beheaded.

The red-feathered raptor followed suit. They were fully enraged that I had just a.s.sa.s.sinated their comrade right in front of them. Though I was better accustomed to the gravity, fighting three opponents was still an arduous task.

Executing the strongest one in a frontal a.s.sault was the strategy I had planned out in my head while charging at them. It played out perfectly, but now I was riding a tiger and couldn't get off. There was no way I could stop halfway through battle after viciously slaughtering their leader.

The furious raptors dived right at me, uncaring about their own life and death. Enraged beasts with no thought of their life and death were terrible opponents. I exchanged several blows with the two raptors as Destiny u0026 Freedom a.s.sisted me in blocking their attacks.

Wielding the cursed weapons was like having a sixth sense. They would always tell me when attacks were coming and when to parry them on their side. All I had to focus on was my movement. After a heated exchange of several blows, I separated from the raptors. My clothes had become b.l.o.o.d.y as a ma.s.sive lacerated wound graced my chest.

During our heated exchange, the red raptor kicked me square in the chest with his ma.s.sive claws while the other distracted me. Luckily, I jumped back, avoiding his claw successfully piercing through my chest.

I had to end this battle quickly to heal before I pa.s.sed out from blood loss. This was the direst situation this young lord had ever been in. But somehow I felt alive for the first time. Bloodl.u.s.t clouded my mind.

"Ahhh," I screamed as I dived back towards the raptors!
