Lei Xinyi sat in front of the mirror admiring her reflection. She really looked gorgeous. She tried to smile, but it faltered.

She was living a lie, but a beautiful lie. A lie she could live forever.

But she didn't have a choice now, did she? She had made it into the mess it was. She wondered if she met Li Yuan in a different situation, would she be here?

But it was a fact if the situations were different she would never approach Li Yuan. A man like him would have also seen her like a hot a.s.s and nothing more.

She didn't know if she loved him. Love was too strong of an emotion to be felt and even harder to be named...

Just as she was lost in her thoughts the door opened, and Li Yuan entered. Lei Xinyi stood up to greet him with a smile, but when she saw him, she froze.

He was wearing a navy blue suit and was looking das.h.i.+ng in it. Lei Xinyi could see that dark colors looked better on his dark and mysterious personality.

Lei Xinyi reached his face with her eyes to see him checking her out too. And that's when they made eye contact.

Li Yuan eliminated the distance between them and hugged Lei Xinyi, "Sweetheart, I missed you."

Lei Xinyi giggled and playfully threw her fist on his chest, "You just saw me in the morning!"

She just felt unexplained happiness looking at him.

Li Yuan looked down at her, still holding her by her waist, and whispered huskily in her ear, "That was too many hours without my heart. Such a torture every breath was for me."

Lei Xinyi rolled her eyes at his dramatics and playfully shoved him away, "Mr. Li, honey traps will get you nowhere with me."

She set her hairs again in the mirror and turned to him again with a soft smile, "How am I looking?"

Lei Xinyi glanced at him. Li Yuan looked at her, from her bare feet to the twinkling set of the unique set of silver and gold eyes.

He nodded at her then stepped forward and held her in front of the mirror so they were both seen in the reflection standing together. His alluring scent was dulling her senses.

Right then Lei Xinyi saw the height difference between them. She hardly reached his shoulders and she was no short woman, she was 5′9 which should be considered tall for a woman.

His one hand was draped around her stomach and the other was lightly caressing her cheek with feather-like touches.

Li Yuan dipped his head a little to her ear, not breaking eye contact even once, "You look like my fantasies, s.e.xy and hot with just the perfect amount of gorgeousness."

Lei Xinyi blushed and bashfully smiled.

She had received too many compliments that they lost their appeal to her and they didn't affect her anymore but he words sure did.

Then she looked at his reflection in the mirror. He was devilishly handsome. There was nothing gentle or sweet about him. His velvety voice that cooed her, was far more erotic than sweet.

He was like a man on a mission to seduce her, and he was doing a marvelous job.

Now that she looked at him closely, she could see the Italian heritage in him. His lean muscular body, his sharp jawline and that wild unruly manliness that oozed off him.

Lei Xinyi leaned more into his muscular body and pa.s.sed him a seductive smile, said in a breathy voice, "You look handsome too."

It was hard to say if she complimented him or he complimented her presence, but they looked perfect together.

They looked like forbidden lovers. A Fae and a Devil.

"But there is something missing. Doesn't it feel like that?" Lei Xinyi glanced up only to see Li Yuan frowning his brows as he inspected her.

Lei Xinyi looked at him questioningly. But Li Yuan didn't look at her, instead she opened one drawer and pulled out a silver rectangular box from it.

Lei Xinyi had seen it there but noticed it only now.

He kept it on the vanity table and smiled at her and indicated her to open it. Lei Xinyi looked at him skeptically, bit her lower lip then opened the box.

As she did, a gasp left her. It was a jewelry box.

In furry feathers, cus.h.i.+on rested dangle sapphires earning with two thumb-size sapphires in each and a necklace with three sapphires in the middle was the biggest sapphire Lei Xinyi had ever seen.

It looked like the jewelry was embedded in silver but on closer inspection, it could be seen it was precious high-quality platinum.

She was allergic to silver.

After all, sapphires were her cherished best with silver or platinum the best.

She felt her eyes moisten at the gesture. She had a lot of jewelry and chests filled with precious stones, but none of that was ever bought to her by anybody.

She touched the sapphire and looked at him in the mirror with a smile, and whispered, "You remembered..." She was talking about her silver allergy.

"Shouldn't a good fiance?" He smirked then kissed the corner of her mouth, "I saw you gazing at Nonna's necklace so I thought you liked them."

"Here, let me help you," he picked the necklace and put her hair to a side and he tenderly put it around her long swan neck then made her wear the dangle blue sapphire earrings.

Then he caressed her lower lip with his thumb and whispered, "Any woman would have looked beautiful in them but with you, they look beautiful."

Li Yuan took out his phone and captured their photo with genuine smiles on their faces, which was a rarity in their world of deceit. He showed the photo to Lei Xinyi.

A picture-perfect couple.

Lei Xinyi saw the raw unnamed emotion in her and his eyes. It, it was deep. She wanted to smile to him but she couldn't get rid of the bitterness in her throat.

She looked at him for a while then averted her gaze then turned to him and gave him her best fake smile and changed the topic, "What if I chose that dress?"

Li Yuan glanced at the phoenix sand peach and salt white dress. Of course, blue Sapphires and silver would look ridiculous on the dress.

Li Yuan smirked and pulled the same drawer out and took a glittery gold rectangular box.

He opened it to reveal a necklace and a pair of statement earrings made of gold and rubies. Lei Xinyi stared at the beauty in front of her.

Too much gold and too much platinum.
