In contrast with the cold and low temperature of the night in the parking lot, the temperature inside Lu Chen's car was slowly rising as things continue to heat up.

Despite lacking experience in that area, Lu Chen continued pecking and nibbling on her lower lip. He tried to be gentle, but for him, Xiu Mei's lips were like a drug that he couldn't get enough of. His fingers tangled in her hair, as he kept her closer to him.

On the other hand, Xiu Mei who was overwhelmed by the kids awkwardly clung onto Lu Chen's clothes. As soon as their lips touched again, she felt like the air in her lungs was completely knocked out. Her heart pounded so loudly as if it was threatening to escape from her chest.

Even though she was a bit startled at first, she gradually got into the kiss and responded to Lu Chen's kisses.

With her response, Lu Chen became fiercer. His other hand sn.a.k.e.d behind her waist, trying to pull her closer to his body. He grazed his tongue between her lips. Slowly, his tongue inched forward and gently parted her lips.

He started slow, trying to make her accustomed to this new experience by gently touching her tongue with his. A full minute later, Lu Chen paused. He briefly separated from Xiu Mei's lips, leaving a string of saliva in between them. He did not move away but instead, he paused just to look at Xiu Mei's expression.

Xiu Mei also opened her eyes and returned Lu Chen's stare. While falling deep in his eyes, she could feel an indescribable attraction that was pulling her towards him. Her breathing turned heavier, while Lu Chen engraved her current expression in his mind. And then his lips fell on her once again.

This time, this contact didn't last as long as the previous one. Lu Chen eventually regained his self-control and ended their kiss by pecking her lightly on the lips.

The two of them fell into a brief silence after that sudden first kiss. The two of them were staring at each other's eyes at first when everything that happened finally dawned on them.

Xiu Mei was the first one to look away and blushed.

She fumbled around awkwardly and acted as if she was looking for something inside her purse.

On the other hand, Lu Chen cleared his throat in an attempt to shake off his fl.u.s.ter. He tried distracting himself by starting the vehicle and driving back to their home.

Basically, the entire ride home was filled with awkward silence. Xiu Mei kept looking out the window since she couldn't muster herself to look at Lu Chen. Her inner mind was having a turmoil with fl.u.s.ter.

Xiu Mei who ran back quickly inside the house went straight to Lu Qiang's room instead of her room. She hastily locked the door as soon as she entered the kid's room, making Lu Qiang look at her with a baffled expression.

"Mom?" The nanny was the one who tucked him to bed one and a half hours ago but he couldn't fall asleep so right now, he was just doing some advanced readings on his lessons.

He was a bit startled when his mother suddenly dashed inside his room without knocking, which she usually does before entering. But now, his mother looked a bit anxious and red while standing in front of his door. It was as if she was wary of something.

"Mom, are you okay?" Lu Qiang worriedly asked.

He climbed off the bed and hugged her waist, comforting her.

"Hm? Ah, sorry baby. Did I wake you up?"

"No, I was reading something. But mommy, are you okay? You look red. Do you have a fever?" He innocently asked.

But when Xiu Mei heard his questions, she grew even more fl.u.s.tered.

Peeking her head out along the hallway, she checked if Lu Chen was around the area and thankfully, he wasn't there at all.

Holding her sandals in her hands, she tiptoed back to her room. She let out a deep sighed of relief after finally returning to her safe zone.

That was really nervewracking ah!

She held her face as she worried about how she was gonna face him tomorrow for breakfast again.

After that, Xiu Mei promptly did her night routine. She took a quick shower to sober herself up and wash off the smell of alcohol on her body.

She was busily applying some toner on her face when someone knocked on her door.

Xiu Mei was puzzled and checked the time flas.h.i.+ng on the digital clock just beside her bed. It was already past midnight and someone was visiting her room at this hour?

She hesitated to open the door at first so she decided to ask who it was before opening it.

"Who is it?"
