"...Can I sleep with you tonight?"

"..."

As soon as those words fell from her mouth, the room fell silent. The husband standing a few meters away from her stiffened in his place doubting his ears for a few seconds. When they both went silent, Xiu Mei gradually realized the mistake in her wordings.

Fl.u.s.tered, she immediately corrected it while waving her hands in front of her. Oh my gawd, what was she saying?!

"No! I meant it literally! Like, sleeping together on the bed. Not the uhm, not the other meaning." She tried explaining but somehow, it sounded like she was lying.

"...I-I'll go back. Sorry for disturbing your sleep."

So she ran away.

She stood up and started walking away when Lu Chen finally opened his mouth after staying quiet for a while.

"Wife." He called, making her stop on her tracks. She had just gotten past him when she paused so she tilted her head a little bit to look behind her.

"Hm?" She could feel herself blus.h.i.+ng from the embarra.s.sing moment earlier.

"Wife." He repeated.

"Y-Yes?"

Then she heard him take a deep breath. "Wife, you always tease me."

She blinked at his words and pondered about it. Tease him? When did she tease him?

Before she could reply, he suddenly turned his whole body towards her direction startling her. He started walking closer to her causing her to reflexively step backward.

"You torment me every time I try to hold back. Just when I'm taking a step back, you suddenly go forward and attack. But when it's the other way round, you run away. Why?" Lu Chen complained to her while approaching her figure.

On the other hand, Xiu Mei felt like crying. Torment? When did she torment him?

The two of them played like that until Xiu Mei touched the cold hard wall behind her. With that, she was completely trapped between the wall and Lu Chen. Putting his arms to stop her from getting away, he stared at her with great intensity.

She grew nervous. Her heart pounded heavily in her chest and her imagination was completely running wild. With their current position, it would be really stupid of her not to understand what he was talking about a while ago.

"Wife, really you…. You're truly wicked." He sounded like he was blaming her but staring back at his intense gaze, it didn't seem like that at all.

The room was dark and with the moonlight as the only thing illuminating the room, it even made the room feel more ambiguous. With only half of his face illuminated by the moonlight, she noticed that his gaze visibly darkened. His lips pressed into a thin line as his gaze never left hers.

She almost thought that she was getting pulled into his gaze, just like a moth attracted to a flame. It was a familiar feeling, she'd always feel it every time the two of them gets closer like this. But Xiu Mei knew that tonight, it was a bit different.

Then his eyes trailed down from her face to her hand. His hand brushed along her arm, making her body tremble subconsciously. It was as if someone was tickling her heart and stomach. He covered her palm and brought it near to his mouth.

Then with a gaze like a predator, he looked straight into her biting onto her palm.

"!!!" Her breath hitched.

No, it was as if all the air in her lungs was knocked out the second he bit on her palm. Her heart pounded crazily and loud as if it was begging to be heard by the person in front of her.

But Lu Chen didn't stop there.

He put out his tongue and licked her palm as if she was ice cream. Then, he brought one of her fingers into her mouth and bit it lightly. He nibbled on it so seductively while never leaving her gaze.

His intense stare was like a magnet preventing her from looking away. It felt like she was being placed under a spell as he continued nibbling on her finger. Then he stopped.

"Wife, I promise I won't touch you just like what I did before." He declared.

At this point in time, her brain already turned into mush and wasn't properly functioning anymore so his words didn't completely register in her mind.

"But I'll make you get used to it slowly." Pressing his lips on her palm, he continued. "We'll do it slowly, until your mind and body become comfortable with it. With my touches."

He lowered her hand and placed it on his chest. His skin was warm underneath her cold hands, and she could feel how fast his heart was pounding underneath that skin. She realized. She realized that the two of them are feeling the same at this very moment.

"Because wife, I can't take this torment anymore or I'm going to go crazy. So help me, okay?"

Then he lowered his head, narrowing the distance between their face until their breaths are touching.

"Hmm?" He almost begged.

"....Hmm." In a daze, she nodded her head and answered his plea.

Receiving her positive response, Lu Chen was thrilled. Then without any hesitation, he crashed his lips onto hers.

He nibbled and licked her lips carefully. He carefully savoured her lips before finally moving on to taste the inside of her mouth. He bit her lower lip with a bit of force, making her gasp in pain. He took this opportunity to invade her mouth and taste her relentlessly.

Even though he had tasted her for a lot of times already, he was still addicted to her taste. He didn't hesitate to attack the sensitive places in her mouth. Keeping his hand behind her head, he slightly tilted his head against her mouth. He pulled her body closer to him, his other hand holding her firmly on the waist.

Slowly, he brushed her hand from his shoulder, to his chest, to his abs, and then it went lower and lower.

"Wife." His voice was deep and sounded a bit hoa.r.s.e.

"Help me?"

His and her hand paused just before his dangerous place. She understood what he was trying to say. Her gaze trembled.

She didn't know how to respond to his question. It's not like she can just simply say 'yes' or 'no' right?

A few seconds later, Lu Chen finally released her hand. Xiu Mei was a bit confused when he suddenly let her go.

"Sorry, I said we were going to take it slowly but I got carried away." He cupped her face and whispered that to her.

"It's fine." Then he latched on her lips again.

He kissed her deeply for the second time but it was more gentle and careful than the first. It also did not last long just like the previous one.

After pulling away, he dragged her by her hand and made her sit on the bed. He knelt in front of her.

"Wait for me right here first." Then he stood up and went to the bathroom. A couple of seconds later, she heard the shower in function.

Still in a daze of the aftermath of their intense kissing session, she sat there like an obedient child and didn't leave the room.
