"Oh, Xiao Mei, did Ning'er left already?" Xia Jiamu asked. He was playing chest by himself.

"Yes. He still have some meeting to attend." Xia Meilin said as she went to sit on the empty chair that was on his opposite. She took the piece of white horse from D6 and moved it to E8. "Checkmate."

"Hey. I did that." Xia Jiamu huffed.

She chuckled as she rearranged the pieces. "By the way... I have a question to ask you, grandpa."

"Go on my dear."

Xia Meilin paused and looked at him. "Is Yong Biqi my real mother?"

Xia Jiamu's eyes went wide in surprise when he heard the name. He looked around before he walked towards the door and locked it. "Who told you about her?"

Seeing how her grandfather reacted, Xia Meilin already knew the answer.

"Feng Ning. He said that she's coming after us and that we should be careful." Xia Meilin said honestly. If she wants to protect her grandparents, she needs to let them know that she's coming so that they can prepare for her arrival.

Xia Jiamu heaved out a heavy sigh before he went towards his desk. He took a key from his pocket and opened a locked drawer. He pulled out a photo from there and stared at it for a while.

It was a family photo with Yong Biqi in it. "It's true, Yong Biqi is your real mother."

She lowered her head and clenched her fists. That doesn't matter, right? The mother she knows was Yong Sining. "Please tell me why she hates us so much, grandpa."
