Yuan Xi rubbed her chin as she leaned her elbow against the table. Huo Yao was a straight-A student. Was that her study plan for school?

The only thing she wanted to do when she entered university was to experience campus life and relax. If she could, she wanted to date someone while she was in university. As for her studies, she just wanted to get by since she was no longer in middle school.

Yuan Xi instantly felt inexplicably embarra.s.sed when she realized Huo Yao had already made a study plan when the term had barely started.

Yuan Xi covered her face and kept telling herself that Huo Yao was a straight-A student. Huo Yao was worlds apart from someone like her who made it into the university with just borderline grades.

Huo Yao raised her head looking languid and laid-back. She saw Yuan Xi covering her face and shaking her head, so she asked. “What’s wrong?”

Yuan Xi sighed miserably. “Nothing.”

She paused and thought about what Yi Feiyu had mentioned during lunch and said, “I didn’t know Bioinformatics was the most unpopular school in Biology.”

From the looks of it, Yuan Xi was another one of those unlucky people forcibly thrown into Bioinformatics.

Huo Yao raised her brow. “What did you want to specialize in?”

“Biomedicine.” Yuan Xi slumped her shoulders and smiled sadly. She did not expect to get into some other faculty.

Huo Yao rapped her fingers on the table unhurriedly and asked. “Did you opt to get automatically rea.s.signed to some other course when you registered?”

Yuan Xi nodded. “Yes, I did. The teacher said there is a limited placement available for each faculty, so he suggested that I select automatic rea.s.signment in case I didn’t get it.”

Huo Yao smiled ambiguously. She had ironically ended up in the Bioinformatics division even though she did not select the option. She raised her hand and patted Yuan Xi on the shoulder empathetically and comforted her. “This field has a lot of potential.”

Since they were in an information age, a top-of-the-line data link would add immense value to each industry, so it was a trend here to stay.

Yuan Xi lay p.r.o.ne on the table. She did not know if she had potential and simply knew it was a very unpopular subject.

Huo Yao said nothing and started reading.

The military training was taking place on the 3rd at Tsing University. The field was thousands of square feet large so it was more than enough for the 2000 freshmen.

The students would be completely cut off from the outside world during military training. Students staying off-campus had to live in school since there was training in the evening as well.

Yuan Xi’s dormitory happened to have an empty bed, so Huo Yao moved in there. There were three other girls in the dormitory, all belonging to the same faculty.

Huo Yao was a quiet person and she had a cool powerful aura, making her seem unapproachable. Also, she was the top Arts scholar this year. These factors combined inexplicably made it feel as though she did not belong in the same world as them.

The three other girls formed their own clique, so she was not close to the other girls except for Yuan Xi.

“I heard a lot of people saying that the military training instructor this year is very young and good looking.”

After Yuan Xi came back from the canteen with breakfast, she started gossiping excitedly with Huo Yao while Huo Yao wiped her face.

Huo Yao turned her head and glanced sideways at Yuan Xi before veering her eyes. She continued to apply sunblock on her arms.

Yuan Xi noticed that Huo Yao did not react to her words, so she pulled up a stool and sat down nearby before she continued. “Now that we have a hot instructor to look forward to, I think military training won’t be as boring.”
