Despite the fact that he had no intentions of marrying Tan Mo in the future, he still found it frustrating that Tan Mo had a close relations.h.i.+p with Ming Yeqing.

Everything was different ever since Tan Mo began to make a name for herself at Beijing University.

The first thing that happened was that Tan Mo joined Professor Guo’s research team during her freshman year.

The professors at Beijing University were known to only let the creme de la creme join their research teams. Wei Keli hadn’t been able to join any of his professors’ teams even after making it clear that he was from the famous Wei family.

That was why he was uncomfortable with Tan Mo’s success.

Tan Mo was just much better than he was in every aspect.

The turning point for him came when Tan Mo won the Best Scriptwriting Award at the Tulip Awards and became famous nationwide.

If she already had such success at just the age of 17, she was only going to grow even more successful in the future.

If Wei Keli were to stand side by side with Tan Mo, she would definitely outs.h.i.+ne him.

She came from a prestigious family and was a one-in-a-million beauty. She was also his childhood best friend.

It was hard for him to give up on Tan Mo as his parents had told him ever since he was a little boy that he would marry Tan Mo in the future.

From his perspective, Tan Mo had been his from the beginning.

Hearing that Tan Mo was visiting Ming Yeqing was frustrating for Wei Keli.

However, he still put on a smile and said, “Yeah, she’s definitely meeting with Ming Yeqing there.”

“I think so. When I saw her, she was waiting for Ming Yeqing in his cla.s.sroom,” Yuan Keqing said, as if she couldn’t tell the mixed emotions that Wei Keli was experiencing. “She even solved the question from Professor Yue while she waited.”

Yuan Keqing paused to study Wei Keli’s expression. Just as she had expected, his smile slowly disappeared, and she continued, “I’m not sure what the question was, but I heard that it was intended for the Aeronautics Department students. None of them had been able to solve it correctly. I think she was the first to ever solve the problem, and she isn’t even in their department. She really is something. When did she even learn about aeronautic engineering? It feels as if it won’t be long before Professor Yue invites her onto his research team.”

Wei Keli flinched when Yuan Keqing mentioned that.

Yuan Keqing smiled and proceeded to compliment Tan Mo even more. “Mo Mo sure is amazing. No matter how smart or amazing a person is, they would be n.o.body compared to her. Everyone now has their attention on Mo Mo.”

Yuan Keqing said what was on Wei Keli’s mind out loud.

He had not expected that Tan Mo was already starting to s.h.i.+ne in the Aeronautics Department.

Doesn’t she know how to keep a low profile? Is it really smart to keep making yourself known to more and more people?

“But…Brother Keli, I’ve been wondering, are you and Mo Mo on bad terms now?” Yuan Keqing asked.

Even if there had been a family group chat, the Yuan family would never have been invited into it.

Yet, that wasn’t enough to stop Yuan Keqing from making things up as she was sure that Wei Keli wouldn’t ask Tan Mo about it. She knew that he wasn’t an idiot who would go around and ask other people about their family stuff.

As long as Wei Keli didn’t try to find out if what she’d said was the truth, then she could make up as many things as she wanted.

Another reason was that she was confident that Wei Keli trusted her. That was the sole reason that the gap between Wei Keli and Tan Mo had widened as time pa.s.sed.

Wei Keli quickly caught on to the most important thing in Yuan Keqing’s words: he was an outsider to Tan Mo.

He couldn’t believe that as they were supposed to be engaged soon, even though he wasn’t sure if he would accept Tan Mo as his bride or not.

However, that did not stop him from getting angry at Tan Mo for treating him as an outsider.

Wei Keli’s expression darkened as Yuan Keqing said, “I only get to see Mo Mo once a week on the weekends. That’s why I can’t say for sure if she ever talks about you since I don’t spend a lot of time with her.”

“I see…well, I am pretty busy myself, so I rarely see her either,” Wei Keli said with an awkward smile.

“Seriously, that Mo Mo, how can she go and visit Ming Yeqing when she’s this busy?” Yuan Keqing sighed. “Whatever. Let’s talk about something else.”
