Since you are a.s.signed here, you should follow the rules of this place. If I were to inform His Majesty of your att.i.tude just now, would you believe that he will immediately relieve you of your duties here?”

Chu Jiu’s eyes narrowed as she flung off his hand forcefully. “His Majesty sent me here to protect Second Miss Lu. I’m not here to be a servant. You are of n.o.ble status and I’m not worthy of serving you. If you’re unhappy with me, feel free to report me to His Majesty. If His Majesty chooses to relieve me of my duties here, I will accept it.”

“You think I don’t dare to do so?” Lu Tingchen sneered.

He had always found her to be offending to his eye.

It was just as well that she was displaying such att.i.tude with him. Who knew if she was doing the same thing to Weiwei when he was not looking?

It did not matter much to him, but he would never allow Weiwei to suffer any grievances.

I’ll speak to His Majesty when he returns and get her to leave.” There were subtle hints of rage in Lu Tingchen’s eyes.

He had wanted to be slightly polite with her from now on because of her protecting Weiwei well today, but who would have thought she would display such rude behavior just when he was starting to be nice?
