Deep underground in front of a metal door that was protected by a barrier, Aoi and Naru were scratching their heads as they stared at the semi transparent blue barrier that covered the door. "We have tried everything we can without actually blowing it up. But by doing so, that would bring too much attention to us."

"Will Kana be made at us? Since we failed the mission, she gave us." Naru asked. He was a little worried about being yelled at by Kana. Why this was, he was not sure himself. He just felt that if Kana were to get mad at him, he felt he would be traumatized for life.

"What do you mean, us? Kana would only get mad at you. Kana would never get mad at Aoi." Aoi said with a mocking smile on her face. She never missed a chance to tease Naru.

Naru's face fell. He did not know if what Aoi said was true or not since Kana has never gotten mad at him before, but if this was true…. Naru suddenly wanted to cry out his grievances, but he did not dare do so in front of Aoi, who would make fun of him for it.

"Let's go, there is nothing more we can do here, and it should be morning time already." Aoi said as he grabbed Naru's hand and dragged him along with her. The two quickly left the castle and arrived at the inn, where Kana was once again resting on the windowsill.

"Oh, your back? Were you able to break the barrier?" Kana asked.

Naru lowered his head as he floated in front of Kana, acting like a puppy who he had just yelled out for doing something wrong. He twiddled with his fingers as he softly answered: "We failed."

"Oh… Umm… Naru, are you okay?" Kana asked.

"I..." Naru s.h.i.+vered as he took a deep breath as he got ready for a scolding. "We failed the task you gave us, so please show mercy!"

"Huh!?" Kana was stunned by this sudden outburst. But quickly realized what was going on when she saw Aoi behind Naru hold her hand over her mouth. Her little shoulders were s.h.i.+vering. A smile crept up on Kana's face seeing this. But before she could say anything, Naru continued.

"Kana, I know you wanted us to get into that room, but no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't get in. And we couldn't blow it up since you did not want us to expose ourselves. I know you will never get mad at Aoi, and since there is no one left to get mad at, you will take all of your anger out on me. But I be..."

"Naru!" Kana yelled, cutting Naru off. Naru's little brain was going down into a deep dark abyss and Kana couldn't let that happen.

"Yes!?" Naru flinched. At the same time, a "Pfft" sound was heard behind him as Aoi could no longer hold it in.

"Hahahahahaha! He believed me!" Aoi suddenly burst out laughing.

Naru finally realized something was wrong and turned around to see Aoi bent over, slapping her little knee as she laughed without restraint. "You! You tricked me!"

"Alright enough. Naru." Kana spoke softly and tapped the little guy on the head. "One thing you should always remember, there is not much that can make me get mad at you. So do not fall for such a thing again. Also..."

Kana leaned forward and whispered softly so only Naru could hear. "They say when a girl teases a boy, it is because she likes that boy."

Naru was stunned as he stared back at Kana, who nodded her head. He then blushed slightly before turning to take a peek at Aoi. when their eyes met, Naru's quickly averted his gaze feeling shy. 'So, she likes me...' After thinking for a few moments, Naru stuck his chest out somewhat proud. 'Of course, she likes me. I am the best and most handsome elemental in the universe!'

Aoi looked at Naru's ever changing expressions and felt something was slightly off. She flew over to Kana and asked in a low whisper: "What's wrong with him?"

Kana smiled slyly as she said: "Nothing much just mentioned how when a girl teases a boy that it means she likes that boy."

"Who likes him!?" Aoi yelled out. After which, she quickly covered her mouth. She looked over at Naru, whose face was gloomy again and felt really bad. "That… is not what I mean..."

"So…. You like me then?" Naru raised his eyes and looked at Aoi with a bit of arrogance showing within them.

"Nope! I changed my mind. That is exactly what I meant. Who would like someone who looks like you!" Aoi yelled before flying into Kana's hair and hiding. Kana chuckled as she reached out and patted Naru's head. "You will meet the right elemental one day."

Naru's gloomy mood quickly perked right back up as he stuck his chest out and put his hands on his hips as he said: "Of course! She is just a weirdo who doesn't understand my greatness!"

Aoi gritted her teeth as she poked her head out from behind Kana's neck, pulled her bottom eyelid down, and stuck out her tongue! "Bleh!"

A knock came at her door, causing both Aoi and Naru to quickly hide in Kana's hair. Kana stretched her arms as she said: "Coming!" Before walking over to the door and unlocking it. She was surprised to see Cia standing there with tear filled eyes. "Cia?"

"Deary, did you see Bridan yesterday b chance?" Cia asked.

"I did… He is supposed to come pick me up this morning to go to court. He helped me out with an issue that dealt with that duke guy." Kana explained.

"I knew it! Those b.a.s.t.a.r.ds! The Duke has been at odds with his brother due to the law that forbids those of higher ranking from using their rank to get their way. Bridan was a big advocate for this. If he helped you stand up to the duke, then I am afraid he is…." Cia's eyes began to water up more.

"Bridan, is to you?" Kana could tell Bridan was more than just a friend to Cia.

"After my husband died, I met Bridan, and we began seeing each other…."
