As soon as Kana entered her courtyard with Liu Na, a small voice yelled out to them. "Senior Sister Na! Kana!"

Mei Ling ran up to them with a smile. She had a dust rag in her hand. Just by looking at the dirt smudges on her face, one could tell she had been cleaning. "Hi, Mei Ling."

"How did it go?" Mei Ling asked as she looked at the two.

"Nana caused a beast tide and almost got me killed." Kana said jokingly.

"Don't lie! I had nothing to do with that!" Liu Na yelled out while playfully punching Kana's shoulder. Mei Ling stared at the two in shock. The normally silent senior sister of hers was actually talking and even joking around! Mei Ling did not know what happened but seeing Liu Na smile made her smile.

"Hehe! At any rate, we both made out well. But right now, all I want is a bath and to relax for a while." Kana needed a break after being in the dreaded grounds. She was there for almost three years while only a month pa.s.sed on the outside. She was glad for this as she had much more understanding of this world now because of this special treatment she was getting. But she did not wish to be given too much special treatment. After speaking with Tina, she realized if she truly wished to grow strong enough, quickly, she would need to face many life and death situations. So turtling inside a city or sect was not good. She could still join a sect, but she did not wish to get any special treatment. She wanted to start from the bottom and work her way to the top on her own while at the same time going out into the world and experiencing what the world had to offer.

Mei Ling was like a bolt of lightning. As soon as Kana said she wanted a bath, and had already disappeared into the house to prepare it for her. Mei Ling felt a connection to Kana as she gave off a motherly aura. It made her feel warm in her heart and also safe. This was not something many could get in the cultivation world. After a nice hot bath, Kana and Liu Na told Mei Ling and each other about their experiences in the dreaded grounds. Kana also introduced Ako. It was not until the next day that Kana left the courtyard with Lui Na and Ako in tow as she went for a walk around the capital.

"Is it just me, or are people staring at us…" Kana felt the stares of those around her or, more precisely, the stares of those looking at Ako.

"This is because Ako is a divine beast of the ancient era. To have one walking around the city is going to draw a lot of attention. It's good we made her wear robes, or else we would be getting even stranger stares." Liu Na blushed. She had fought with Ako this morning trying to get her to wear robes. Only after she begged Kana to say something did Ako unwillingly put on clothing.

Kana comforted Ako by telling her to just ignore them for now. But as they continued down the main road of the city, a group of people led by a young man in Moon Crest Academy robes stopped in front of them. He looked Kana and Ako up and down with a leer on his lips before looking at Liu Na and asking: "How much for the two beast girls?"

As soon as those words fell, Kana, who was smiling, expression turned cold. Without saying a word, she walked forward and slapped the young man in the face. She did not hold back her strength at all, and the young man's whole body lifted into the air and spun around three times before landing face first onto the ground, eating dirt. "What did you say!?"

"You! You cheap beast s.l.u.t! You dare hit me!? I am a Moon Crest Academy disciple!" The young man roared as he stood up, spitting out the dirt in his mouth. But before he could really get his balance, another hand hit the other side of his face sending him spinning through the air again.

"Say it again!" Kana yelled in anger. First, he wanted to buy her as if she was some kind of object, and then he called her a s.l.u.t!? Who the h.e.l.l did he think he was!?

Liu Na shook her head as she stared at the young man. "Wen Yang, you may be a disciple of Moon Crest Academy, but so am I. We are both outer sect disciples. You can not act like this because not only are you tarnis.h.i.+ng your own name but the sects as well. Either you apologize right now, or well, I am sure you will not like what will happen next."

Liu Na placed her hand on the hilt of her sword and took a step forward but was stopped by Kana. "I will handle it. I just so happened to need to try my new techniques out on a real target."

Liu Na saw the sinister smile on Kana's face and knew Wen Yang was about to get beaten. Wen Yang was only in the middle of the early stages of the qi condensation realm. He was not Kana's match.. Kana stepped forward and drew her sword, causing Wen Yang and the people behind him to frown. His eyes turned cold as he yelled out: "It seems like you want to die! Get her!"
