Chapter 850: Oops!

"Ladies and gentlemen. Today honored guests will be able to watch the finest young men and women of each sect on this continent. The fights that you will see will be of those who will soon rise to glory all over the land. The heroes of the next generation will be here for all to see." The old man stood in the middle of the large stage as he spoke.  The stage was currently covered in smaller circular raised platforms, with barrier arrays around each. This was because the first round was the prelims to see who would move on to the main event. "All contestants, please move to your designated stages." 

Bell hugged Mei Ling as she said: "Don't think too much and try to restrain yourself. But even if something happens, do not worry about it. Just have fun." 

"Mm…." Mei Ling nodded her head. She turned and began walking to her stage. She kept her head high because she wanted her Mama not to worry about her, but in truth, she was very nervous, so much so that she was starting to shake a little. She had never thought that in such a short time that she would change as much as she had. She went from being stuck in her courtyard cultivating, being sheltered from the world, to having her entire body transformed into something completely different. She was no longer human. She was one hundred percent a mix of dragon and demon. Her Mama had worked extra hard to make sure her blood was a combination of her and her Handsome Papa. This was why she had so much change. 

And she did not hate this change at all. In fact, she loved it. She left her village and followed Nana and the rest to the sect. She barely pa.s.sed the test and had only been taken out a few times on sect missions to gain resources. But that all changed after everyone surpa.s.sed her in cultivation. She was slow and had no one to really help her understand the path of cultivation correctly. 

She spent every day since then sitting in the courtyard cultivating left and right. Her only true happiness was when her Mama came to visit her. The warmth she got from Mama was addictive. She did not wish to let it go. When Mama was not around, she would miss her a lot and feel lonely even when the others were around. So when her Mama asked her to truly become family, she did not hesitate to say yes. And now…. Now she had a true family who all treated her kindly as if she was always there. She loved every second of it. So in this tournament, she would win. No matter what, she would win. She wanted her Mama to be proud of her and give her a head pat.

Up in the stands, Kana was watching all her babies and Ako as they climbed on their stages. But she couldn't help but frown when she saw the others all standing far away from her family. "Sect master. Tell the other sect masters that if their disciples throw any fights, that I will make them door ornaments."

The sect master felt a chill run down his spine as he got up to spread the word. Instantly all the disciples on the stage had looks of dread on their faces as they stared at Mei Ling and the rest. They already knew they could not win against them, but now they could not even give up. It was then that non verbal agreement was made between each disciple on the stages. Since we have to fight, we will fight together! 

"Also, no ganging up on my babies." As soon as Kana's words rang out, the eyes that were lighting up with fighting spirit on the battle stages quickly dimmed as they knew they were about to be beaten up. But not even a few seconds later, the fighting spirit returned when they heard they could get extra resources for fighting Kana's family members. Creige, who had his arm around Kana's shoulder, let out a chuckle. His wife was very overprotective.

"Matches begin!" The announcer for the tournament yelled out, and battles began exploding on each stage. This was the prelims, so it was more of a free for all than an actual match. Mei Ling stood on stage with her sword ready in a battle stance that she learned from Yana. But the more she stood there, the more she realized everyone was fighting violently on the other side of her battle stage. She could hear them yelling out: "I will win and fight her!" And things like "My sect master promised me more resources if I fought her!" And other comments similar to this. 

At this point, Mei Ling did not know what to think of the situation. She lowered her stance as she sheathed her sword and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. She did not wish to wait for people to fight over the right to fight her for benefits. She did not like this one bit. "First stance: In the beginning, there was nothing…."

Mie Ling drew her sword, and as she did, she suddenly shouted out: "Ah! I forgot!" 

Five sword beams flew out in a cone in front of her and sliced through everything they touched, including the array barrier and the sect disciples. Blood filled her battle stage, and just as the sword beams exited her stage, they all suddenly stopped mid air and flew up towards the sky. When Mei Ling saw this, she breathed a sigh of relief as she turned and looked up towards where her Mama was. Kana smiled gently at her daughter and gave her a small wave. As for the sect masters behind her, they all had pale faces as they looked at the small demon on the stage who had just slaughtered their disciples as if she was taking a stroll.  What made things worse was that they could not even complain about it. Even if the disciples who died were elite disciples, it did not matter. If they complained, they might end up as door ornaments. 

"Yana, Little Ling learned too much from you." Rain said with a frown.

"What can I say? She soaked up everything in an instant. She didn't even need to undergo the baptism I went through. To be honest, I am kind of jealous. If this keeps up, she might surpa.s.s me in the sword…." Yana whined. She was already surpa.s.sed by her Mama, which was fine, but now even her new litter sister was going to surpa.s.s her. She needed to work harder!

Kana smiled as she said: "No, she won't. She will always need you to teach her, so just work harder and always strive to become better. Use her as a means to better yourself, or you will lose your big sister status."

Yana pursed her lips. Her Mama was bullying her!
