After Yu Ling bathed and got ready, she used her technique to turn back into an old lady and brought Kana with her to the ceremonial grounds. It was a place where all elders held their master disciple ceremonies. In other sects, such things were normally held in private or just in front of the sect master, but in this sect, the act of an elder taking on a disciple was a huge event that was held in front of the entire sect.

When Kana and Yu Ling arrived at the ceremonial grounds there was a huge crowd of people ranging in the tens of thousands. They were all gathered below a large stage where all the hundred or so elders were sitting as well as the sect master himself.

Behind the stage were ten tall statues, each depicting a person wielding a sword. "Kana, the statues there are all statues of the previous sect masters."

"Oh?" Kana looked at them all and noticed one resembling the old guy she met before at the entrance test. But she wondered why they had to make the statues so tall, they were hundreds of Kana's tall!

The two landed on top of the platform where many elders and other new disciples who would be undergoing their ceremony as well. "Elder Ling, you are here."

"Mmmm…." Yu Ling gave a polite nod before moving to where the sect master was. Only one other person sat near the sect master, and that was the old man from the day before.

"It's good you made it on time." The old man said with a smile, but his words were slightly sarcastic.

"My master was thinking of ways to fix the wrinkles on your face. You should be grateful to her." Kana did not like this old man since he was trying to be forceful about her daughter the other day, and now that she had taken Yu Ling as her master, she would not allow anyone to look down on her.

"You! Elder Ling, please keep a leash on your disciple!" The old many faces twisted in anger. He still remembered the humiliation he received just yesterday.

"Hmmm? What my disciple said was true. I was trying to figure out how to cure your wrinkle issue. But sadly, no matter what I tried, it just did not seem like it would be able to work on you since your wrinklers don't come with old age. That is just how you naturally look." Yu Ling replied with a snort.

"You!" The old man pointed his finger at Yu Ling, wanting to say something, but he suddenly felt a heavy pressure weighing on his shoulder, causing him to look at Kana. He saw her cold eyes and quickly lowered his hand and turned away from the master disciple pair.

"Alright, no need to get so angry. Little Kana, when is your daughter going to come? I would like to take her in as my disciple when she does arrive, if she agrees, that is." The sect master was not dumb. He saw what happened yesterday and did not want to end up like his old friend.

"I am not sure. I will contact her later and see what she says. But it might be a few years, maybe more." Kana replied.

"I see…. That is too bad. I will wait. If she is like you, then I will be willing to wait. This will also give me more time to find something good to give as a bri…. I mean a meeting gift." The sect master said as he choked on his own words.

Kana chuckled. She actually liked this sect master. He seemed smart. "If you want to bribe her then…. Come find me later. I will tell you what will catch her interest the most."

In truth, there was not much that would cause Yana to want to care to take anyone as her master except a sword technique that might catch her interest. "Haha! Then I will stop by later."

The sect master was all smiles while the old man next to him had a sour expression. He also wanted a disciple as talented as Kana! He had to think of something that might swindle her daughter to his side. If Kana knew the old man was still scheming, she would immediately strip him naked and shove a rock up his b.u.t.t.

After everyone had finally gathered, the sect master stood up and began giving his speech. "Today, we welcome in a new batch of sword cultivators who will be your new brothers and sisters. And those who were exceptional out of the group were selected to be disciples of the sect elders."

One thing Kana noticed was that most of the elders all seemed to have more than one disciple. And quite a few of these old men only had female disciples, which made her want to smack the old men for being perverts.
