So far, it was hiding pretty well from the mammoth. 

But it would be found sooner or later. 

It was still a long way to go to the city wall, and they might not be able to escape, especially when the mammoth also ordered all the surrounding beasts to find them. 

Beasts with a sharp nose could find them anytime and beasts who could dig underground would also catch them sooner or later.
