Jia Li was out playing with Ocean when Fu Meixu came to find her.

Fu Meixu was scared of dogs, so she dared not approach Jia Li who was being protected by Ocean, plus her barking.

Jia Li had to say goodbye to Ocean and lock her up in her kennel before going to meet Fu Meixu.

"I told you to come closer, she doesn't bite." Jia Li said to Fu Meixu.

"Look at the way she was staring and barking at me ferociously, there is no way I would have listened to you, I don't want to get bitten by her." Fu Meixu said she shook her head.

"Ocean listens to me, and she wouldn't bite you if I control her." Jia Li said.

"What? That means I can never offend you in the future lest you send her after me." Fu Meixu said in fear.

She was truly scared of dogs. When Ocean was still a puppy, She only dared to get close but didn't dare to touch her. But now that she was all grown up, it was all the more she couldn't get close or think of touching her.

As they walked towards the entrance of the house, Jia Li asked, "You came to find me, do you need me for something?"

Her question reminded Fu Meixu of the reason she came to meet her.

"Yes. I came to remind you of the wrap-up party for my last shoot. You're coming with me, right?" Fu Meixu asked with a smiling gaze.

Jia Li gave her an awkward glance before explaining, "I haven't told Fu Hua about it, and I'm not sure he will let me go."

"Why don't we do this? I will talk to Grandfather about this, and he will surely let me take you along. Even Brother Hua will not be able to stop you from coming with me." Fu Meixu suggested with a smile.

Jia Li looked a bit worried as she asked, "I think that's a wrong move. Don't you think it will look like we told on him to grandfather?"

Fu Meixu guessed that Jia Li was scared and so asked, "Are you afraid of him? Well, it's right to be scared of him, he doesn't smile with anyone, and only knows how to keep a straight face. How do you manage to stay close to him with that ice-cold face all day?"

"What did you say?" Fu Hua asked from behind them with a cold tone.

Jia Li and Fu Meixu didn't need to turn their backs to know who that voice belonged to. That familiar cold voice sent s.h.i.+vers to their spine.

Fu Meixu didn't bother turning to look back, she hurriedly escaped, leaving Jia Li behind.

Jia Li felt betrayed when she saw Fu Meixu run into the house, and somehow, she blamed her for using bad words on Fu Hua.

Jia Li didn't dare to turn back and wanted to escape as well, so she took hurried steps towards the door, but her view was blocked by a tall figure.

How couldn't she recognize the scent of the person that just blocked her way?

She smiled sheepishly and slowly glanced up to look at Fu Hua.

"You're back, already?" She asked.

"Were you expecting me to sleep at work?" Fu Hua retorted with a cold gaze.

"No, I didn't mean that." Jia Li replied and didn't dare to say any other words.

"What were you two talking about behind my back?" Fu Hua asked as he put his hands in the pockets of his jacket.

"It wasn't behind your back, you have clearly been eavesdropping all along." Jia Li muttered to herself, but Fu Hua heard them.

"What did you say?" Fu Hua asked as his expression turned frosty.

"I didn't say anything." Jia Li said and sneezed after that.

Fu Hua's facial expression switched immediately, from a frosty look to a frown.

"How long have you been standing outside?" He asked.

"Not long. I came out to see Ocean." Jia Li replied as she rubbed her nose.

Fu Hua was annoyed with her as he glanced at her from head to toe. She wasn't putting on a head warmer, and there were no gloves ???? covering her hands.

He immediately pulled her as he made his way into the house.

Jia Li knew he was annoyed with her and chose to remain quiet because whatever she said would be used against her.

As for Fu Meixu, she didn't stop running until she got to her bedroom and locked the door. Even when her mother called out to her, she totally ignored her as she ran for her life.

She only relaxed when she threw her handbag on the floor and laid her back against the bed, and then only, she sighed in relief.

It was after she has calmed down that she thought about Jia Li. She became a little worried as she didn't have the slightest idea of what Fu Hua could do. But then next moment, she calmed down, since Jia Li had grandfather Fu on her side.

As Fu Meixu laid on the bed, she wondered if she had ruined the opportunity for Jia Li to come with her to the wrap-up party.

When Jia Li and Fu Hua got into the bedroom, Fu Hua didn't ask about the scene downstairs. He looked like he didn't care anymore.

He went into the inner room without saying a word.

"Is he angry with me? But why?" Jia Li asked herself as she sat at the foot of the bed.

She had no idea the reason he was angry with her.

The next minute, Fu Hua walked out of the inner room and went over to sit on his desk.

"Did you finish your draft?" He asked without looking up.

"Yes." Jia Li replied immediately as she stood up and walked over to him.

She found her sketchbook and handed it over to him, so he could have a look at what she designed using the purple cabbage.
