When Fu Hua finished from the workshop, he went straight to find his daughter, but her mother had already taken her away.

Fu Hua didn't think much of it. He wasn't ready to argue any further with Jia Li, so he resisted the urge to go and find his daughter.

It was during dinner that Fu Hua knew that matters were not simple. He didn't see any signs of Jia Li or Jasmine at the dining table, so he asked about it, and was told that the people he was looking for, were in the bedroom.

"Has my wife eaten?." Fu Hua asked.

"Yes, Sir." Housekeeper Zu replied.

'Is she avoiding me?.' Fu Hua thought as he picked up his cutlery and began to eat. He only went to find the mother and daughter when he was done eating.

After knocking on the door to Jia Li's bedroom a few times now, he didn't hear any response.

"Jia Li, I know you're angry, but this is not the time to do this. I know you can hear me, open the door." Fu Hua said in an exhausted tone.

Jia Li who was breastfeeding the little girl, remained motionless as she sat down and continued with her maternal duties. She refused to say a word to him.

Fu Hua knocked heavily this time around as he called out to her, "Look, Jia Li, I know you can hear me, won't you open the door for me? It's late already, I need to sleep and I am tired."

"You have your bedroom, go there and sleep. You're not stepping an inch into my room." Jia Li replied in an angry tone.

Fu Hua had a frown sitting on his face as he asked, "Which room is yours?."

"Oh! I don't have a room, thanks for reminding me that this house belongs to you. I will get a house for myself as soon as possible!." Jia Li said in a taunting tone.

Fu Hua was almost going crazy with Jia Li's logic. "What nonsense are you talking about?. I only said that as I consider both rooms to belong to us. My things are here just like your things are in the other room."

"It doesn't matter!." Jia Li replied.

Fu Hua was so furious with Jia Li that he couldn't wait to get his hands on her. He would press her on the bed and teach her a lesson.

"Fine! Since you don't want me to come in and sleep, at least open the door so I can see my daughter and bid her good night." Fu Hua said.

"Which daughter, do you have a daughter?!." Jia Li asked.

"Jasmine is my daughter, and I want to see her." Fu Hua said as he was slowly starting to lose his patience. He didn't understand why his wife was acting unreasonably because he doesn't want her to join the compet.i.tion.

"You are joking. Jasmine belongs only to me. She is my daughter, and not yours!." Jia Li said in a loud tone, and that caused the little one in her arms to fidget.

"Mum is sorry," Jasmine whispered to her little bun in a gentle tone and patted her back.

Fu Hua couldn't understand what was wrong with his wife. How could she claim that their daughter belonged to her alone?

"Jia Li what is wrong with you? Jasmine is my daughter as well as yours. At least I contributed a sperm that formed her."

As Fu Hua was saying this, two servants pa.s.sed by with their heads lowered. Fu Hua saw them and became embarra.s.sed.

"I carried her for 10 months, and I went through pain and a lot to give birth to her. You think she belongs to you because you contributed a sperm, you must be joking! Go back to your bedroom and sleep, tomorrow I will start looking for a house. Till then, you have to tolerate my daughter and me." Jia Li said to him without a care.

She was still angry with him because he refused to let her join the upcoming compet.i.tion. She was more furious when he came to sleep in her bedroom like he didn't do anything wrong. Instead of agreeing to her request or trying to reason with her, he was only after coming to spend the night and see his daughter.

"You are just being unreasonable, don't even think about leaving this house!." Fu Hua said and walked away in anger.

He walked back to the bedroom and banged the door and went straight to lay on his bed. He felt uncomfortable as there was nothing to hold, so he picked up a pillow and hugged it in his arms, but he was still missing something.

As for Jia Li, she made the sleepy little girl burp before putting her in her cot. She stood beside her cot and watched her for a while. Letting out a sigh, she went to sit on her bed with an exhausted look.

Jia Li was feeling unsettled. Fu Hua didn't want her to join the compet.i.tion, but she wanted to. She wanted to work hard for something, so people wouldn't say she got into FJ because she was the wife of the Boss, later when they found out her ident.i.ty.

Some people would still say that she pa.s.sed the compet.i.tion because of Fu Hua, but working hard towards the compet.i.tion, had a different feeling, so she was willing to put her brain to work.

Feeling thirsty, Jia Li got up to use the bathroom first before leaving the bedroom. She went downstairs to drink some water, and to get another gla.s.s for herself, so she wouldn't have to come down to have a drink in the middle of the night.

Going back to her bedroom, Jia Li walked straight to put the gla.s.s of water on the table before walking towards the cot to check on Jasmine, but she was alarmed when she saw that the cot was empty, she almost screamed in shock.

Thinking that no one would dare to take her child without her permission, Jia Li could only think of someone, Fu Hua.

"Fu Hua!." Jia Li called out through gritted teeth as she left her bedroom for his, with anger boiling in her.

"Fu Hua where is my daughter!.." Jia Li asked angrily as she banged his door with her hands when she discovered that the door to his bedroom was locked after she touched the handle.
