Chapter 475: Sunny worries about Jia Li

Hearing her say that she felt like taking the milk tea she brought for her back, Jia Li blocked her sight from staring at the three cups of milk tea on her work desk.

"Miss Sunny, you can't take back what you have already given out." Jia Li said to her.

"Can you finish the three cups of tea before they turn cold?" Sunny asked. She found Jia Li's action funny, so she changed her mind.

"I can. I need something hot to dissipate the coldness in my body. Thank you Miss Sunny for your kindness." Jia Li said gratefully. She knew that she was the reason Sunny got the coffee for everyone in their department and she could see that she cared for her.

"Mmm...just slow down with your work, you need to be strong to continue." Sunny said to her before leaving. She could see how hard she was working in the course of the compet.i.tion and she must say that she was impressed.

Jia Li was alone after Sunny left because her two a.s.sistants went out to get the coffee that was ordered for them. Now having a little privacy, Jia Li called Fu Hua to thank him for the tea.

"Keep warm, I will call you later to check up on you." Fu Hua said.

As he promised, Fu Hua did call to check up on Jia Li before leaving for home. He would have loved to stay with her but he also didn't want their little daughter to be left in the absence of her parents. At least one of them has to be present, so Fu Hua asked Jia Li not to stay long at work before driving off.

There were a few newbies who remained in the office after the close of the day. Today, Marié and Linda decided to work overtime.

Linda was working on her 3rd dress currently and she seemed to be the fastest because she already had 2 completed dresses. Marié was about to complete her 2nd dress. She encountered an issue with the neckline because she asked one of her a.s.sistants to do the cutting for her but it came out wrong.

Marié was so p.i.s.sed off that she scolded the young lady terribly till the point that she cried and this is the reason Marié had to work overtime. She needed to fix the hand of the dress.

After studying the neckline, an idea came to her, which made her remove one of the hands of the dress. And now, she had to sew that part up which took her some time because she had to use some stones on that part.

Now satisfied with her work, Marié smiled satisfactorily before leaving with her bag after making sure that she cleaned her works.p.a.ce up.

This was a major compet.i.tion that would decide their fate internationally, so they were all very serious about it and in order to prevent their designs from being sabotaged, they had to be careful.

Sunny who was still rounding up an a.s.signment Fu Hua gave to her before he left, had no idea that he did that on purpose because he wanted her to accompany his wife for a little longer.

When Sunny finished her a.s.signment, she picked up her bag and walked out of her office when she remembered to check on Jia Li.

"Is it possible that she is still here?" Sunny asked herself as she walked towards Jia Li's works.p.a.ce to look for her. On getting to her door, she heard the sounds from a sewing machine and got clarified that Jia Li was still working, so she knocked and opened the door.

Jia Li looked surprised to see Sunny in her works.p.a.ce. She thought the latter had left already but it turned out that she was still around.

Sunny walked in and closed the door behind her. Then as she made her way to the place Jia Li was sitting, her eyes glued to her face.

"Why is your face red and where are your a.s.sistants?" Sunny asked with a frown.

Jia Li had no idea that her face was red and she looked surprised when Sunny told her about it, so she touched her face while replying to her question. "It's past work hours, so I sent them home."

By the time Jia Li finished replying to her question, she was already in front of her. Sunny raised her hand to feel Jia Li's forehead only to discover how hot it was.

Sunny withdrew her hand and said to her, "You are running a temperature, I think you have a fever."

"I don't think I'm running a fever." Jia Li said as she touched her neck which felt warm.

"And why do you think so, your body is hot." Sunny asked as her frown deepened further.

"Isn't it because the heater is on?" Jia Li asked as she looked around her workplace. There was a little confusion on her face as she asked that question.

"I don't think your brain is functioning properly. You can't even tell that you have a fever after feeling the hotness of your body. Do you have a slight headache?" Sunny asked worriedly.

"Yeah but I believe it's because it's time to take my medication." Jia Li replied.

Sunny did not know if she should scold Jia Li or not. If it was before she knew her hidden ident.i.ty, she wouldn't have thought twice before scolding her but the young lady standing in front of her, was her Boss's wife, plus she looked so innocent right now, so how could she bear to scold her?

"Doesn't your husband care about you?" Sunny asked. Her question shocked Jia Li who didn't see it coming.

"Sorry?" Jia Li said with a shocked gaze.

"I'm asking if your husband doesn't care about you. You are sick and you are not home by this time, shouldn't he be worried about you?" Sunny asked.

Jia Li left her no choice to think that way because she was acting like a woman who was not loved by her husband.

Sunny believed that no husband who loved his wife will allow her to work this hard when she is sick. And now that she knew who Jia Li's husband was and seeing that he didn't do anything about her working this late when she was ill, she began to think that Fu Hua didn't care for her as the way the media made it look like.
