A room full of connection would be the right way to describe Grandfather Fu's 80th birthday celebration.

Out of Jia Li's friends, Daiyu was the only one in attendance as she had to play the role of YingPei's girlfriend.

She had fun at the party and thanks to being by Jia Li's side, she didn't feel bored. She and some of the guests would have loved to take some pictures, but unfortunately, that was not allowed.

Although Grandfather Fu's birthday was loud, he didn't want it to be loud on the internet with the pictures taken from the day.

Instead, a professional photographer who the Fu family always used, was the only media person present to take photos of the day.

Jasmine was not at a place today. She was mostly seen with her great-grandfather. Either sitting beside him, standing beside him or in his arms as he walked to the tables to greet his friends who had come from different places to honor him that day.

I guess it must really be an advantage to serve in the military because at Grandfather Fu's age, he could still hold the chubby little girl in his arms for 20 minutes.

The old man must adore his family's little princess a lot.

"When are going back?" Jia Li asked Daiyu who was filling her plate with food.

"Maybe in 3 days." Daiyu replied.

"I suppose you have a date." Jia Li teased with a bright smile.

Daiyu was silent for a while before replying with a smile, "If going rock climbing and engaging in some sports compet.i.tion can be tagged as 'a date' then sure it's a date."

"You two are going to compete in sports?" Jia Li asked.

"That's right and I think this will be fun. Why don't you come and watch us, I promise you would watch a good show." Daiyu said as she tried to entice her with some of the fun activities she could watch them doing.

"No way, you two can have fun alone. I'm fine staying at home to keep warm. Winter is approaching and spending time with my daunted is what I will be doing on that day." Jia Li said to her.

Both ladies found a place to sit and continued chatting.

"Is my brother-in-law the kind of man you would like to have in your life?" Jia Li asked. This was an important question she was curious to know about.

Having known Daiyu for so many years, Jia Li kind of doubted of she would love a man like YingPei, besides she had the personality to dominate and YingPei didn't look like her kind of spec.

"To tell you the truth, he is not. First of all, his ident.i.ty as a member of the Fu family makes me want to stay away from him but I learned to ignore that side of his. His handsomeness has some youth to it and he definitely looks like the normal Capable CEOs that we know about."

"Maybe it's because he is not a CEO. If one day he emerges as a leader in the company, his personality and appearance will change but he will remain the same person he was, to you, if he loves you." Jia Li said to her.

Daiyu sipped her juice and replied, "I know. Since we are friends now, I just want to take things gradually. We are not forcing anything. He is not my type but he is interesting and I would like to try him out."

"Yeah, he is interesting and it would be fun to be with him." Jia Li added.

"Was your husband the type of man you would have loved to get married to?" Daiyu asked.

She kind of knew the answer to that question but she didn't want to conclude on it.

Jia Li smiled and replied, "Definitely not."

Jia Li remembered her first impression of Fu Hua. If fate didn't bring them together and they fell in love, she wouldn't want to be with a man like him.

He was cold, quiet and unapproachable and seeing him always scared the h.e.l.l out of her and she learned to thread carefully when she was at a close range to him.

Li Huan was her choice in a life partner because he was gentle and kind. But as fate would have it, she became entangled with Fu Hua through his grandfather.

Today, she and Li Huan do not talk much. In several months, they haven't spoken and on the days to her wedding day, he didn't call. Now, this was getting her worried.

She has been caught up with her love and family that she has forgotten how to check up on people. Jia Li didn't have many sentiments towards Li Huang but as her senior in high school who took care of her and they were from the same hometown, it was only right to check up on him.

Maybe because of her personality, Daiyu was far more comfortable with being in the same room with so many big shots unlike Xiulan who was uncomfortable and had to sit alone in one corner.

Thankfully, it looked like Fu Ling had a little humanity in him for he thought about her being left all alone in a room of unfamiliar people, before approaching her.

At first, he didn't want to formally introduce her to Jia Li since she was only a fake girlfriend. But leaving her alone seemed to make him look heartless which was not a part of his trait, so he was forced to take her to Jia Li, so she could find some comfort.

"Come, I will take you to my Cousin-in-law." Fu Ling said as he pulled her along with him.

Jia Li recognized Xiulan and she learned that she was not just Fu Ling's personal a.s.sistant but also his girlfriend.

Jia Li welcomed her with a warm smile and asked her to sit and then went on to introduce Daiyu to her.

Jia Li was truly not a chatty person and so was Xiulan, so Daiyu did most of the talking.
