When they got to the club, there was a slight frown on Fu Ling's face. He didn't frequent the clubs back in City B, so their lifestyle was foreign to him.

"Walk closely with me." He said to Xiulan as he pulled her close to his side. His actions warmed up her heart, but she fought really hard not to show it. Instead, she thanked him and stuck next to him.

After settling down in their booth, a few minutes later, the two investors arrived with their female partners.

Actually, there was one main investor, but he brought his friend along who was quite interested in the deal. This was not a problem for Fu Ling, as he knew about it before making the trip.

When Fu Ling wanted to bring out the contract to talk about it with the investors, they asked him not to bring it out.

"Mr. Fu, today is for merriment. We will only drink and talk about business, as did the contract, we will talk about it in the morning tomorrow." The main investor said.

"Shouldn't we talk about the deal first before the merriment?" Fu Ling asked with a frown as he didn't understand their kind of order. They were doing things the wrong way.

"Miss, try to smoother his brows, I'm already feeling dizzy from looking at them." The second investor said. He was referring to Xiulan. He thought she was his companion.

Fu Ling immediately corrected their wrong impression with a deep frown, "She is my a.s.sistant."

"She is too beautiful to just be your staff." The second investor said as he returned his gaze to Fu Ling.

Fu Ling got to his feet and said, "Since we are not signing the contract today, let's meet in the morning tomorrow."

"Mr. Fu, it will be rude for you to leave us here. We are not talking about the contract, but we are talking about your game company. It is very important." The first investor said.

He said they couldn't sign the contract today, but the next day. But that didn't mean they were not going to talk about something important.

Xiulan also felt that just working out on them would be rude, so she agreed that they should stay back and have a few drinks with them, while also talking about their business.

Fu Ling finally agreed and sat back down. Xiulan offered to drink on his behalf, but he rejected the idea.

There was no need to worry about who was going to drive since the resort deligated a driver to them.

At the end of the meeting, Fu Ling was half drunk. He was tipsier, but not completely out of it. Xiulan took his arm and led him aside, while trying to steady him, after saying goodbye to the investors.

Luckily, she didn't drink any alcohol, so she could support him. Well, the fact is that Fu Ling did not allow her to drink any alcohol. While they were all drinking alcohol, she was drinking a bottle of don't drink.

Xiulan was able to support Fu Ling to the entrance before their driver saw them, and rushed to a.s.sist her.

In the car, Fu Ling placed his palm over his eyes before asking Xiulan who had joined him at the back seat, "What do I look like right now?"

Xiulan was tongue-tied as she wondered what kind of question he was asking. 'Did it matter what he looked like at this point?' She thought to herself.

After waiting for some seconds without hearing any response from her, Fu Ling moved his hand away from his eyes and glanced at her.

"I asked a question, why is the reply taking so long to come?"

Xiulan was forced to reply, "You look like you need to have a long rest."

Without warning, Fu Ling leaned in towards her, and she immediately leaned her back towards the car door in fright.

"Are you ashamed of me?." He asked after managing to see the fright in her eyes.

Ashamed of him? She was more scared of his actions in that state.

Thankfully, Fu Ling leaned away and gave her a breathing s.p.a.ce.

The driver completely ignored them When he got to the resort, he wanted to help Fu Ling out of the car, but he refused. He also didn't allow Xiulan to hold him as well.

He only found out that he really needed an a.s.sistance when he almost hit his face on the wall after managing to make a few steps unscathed.

Finally, Xiulan was allowed to hold him, and she helped him into his room. Helping him to the bed, she began to take off his shoes.

Lastly, she took off his tie, and it was at that moment that temptation came.

Fu Ling looked as if he had fallen asleep while laying on his back. And as Xiulan watched him with his eyes closed, the temptation to feel his face and his lips, set in stronger than before, especially when she saw his lips.

Giving in to the temptation, she leaned in to check his lips. She had almost succeeded, but Fu Ling opened his eyes at that point.

"What are you doing?" He asked with a deep frown.

Xiulan was so scared that she immediately jumped off the bed, but landed her b.u.t.ts on the hard floor. She winced in pain as she sat there for a few more seconds.

Fu Ling sat up on the bed, and glanced at her, as he was still trying to comprehend what she was trying to do to him, and how she landed on the floor.

With Fu Ling staring at her like that, Xiulan didn't feel settled. She immediately got to her feet and apologized to Fu Ling before running away.

Fu Ling who seemed to be feeling slightly better, had his gaze fixed on the tightly closed door for a few seconds before withdrawing it.

He sighed before getting himself from the bed, and into the bathroom to have a shower. she emerged a few minutes later in his nightdress and went straight to the bed to lay his head.

Xiulan couldn't sleep when she returned to her room.. As the thought of being caught red-handed hunted her.
