When the man got home, his wife was shocked by his situation. She almost tried when she saw him in that state.

"What happened to you? Did you fight with the thugs in the street?!." She asked in concern, as she picked up the first aid box and opened it.

"I am in trouble." The man managed to say in pain.

Every part of his body was in pain, including his face, so he could barely make much movement.

"What do you mean?!." His wife asked with furrowed brows.

The man sighed and then, began to explain things to her. He even had to struggle to talk. His wife's family expression kept changing as he talked.

She forgot that she was supposed to make use of the First Aid kit.

The woman felt so angry that she didn't let him finish what he had to say.

"Were your brains eaten up by the sharks?! How could you borrow money from the loan sharks to start a business you were not sure of? Now see, the business has collapsed without even managing to stand!." The woman scolded angrily.

"How much did you borrow from them?." The woman asked seeing that her husband was silent.

"Five..." The man said as he trailed off.

"Five thousand? Fifty thousand? five hundred thousand?." The woman kept asking, but we only got a negative response.

When she asked him if the amount he borrowed was five thousand and he shook his head in a negative affirmation, she had a bad premonition and suddenly looked scared.

"You!... how much did you borrow... from them?." She stuttered as she glanced at him with a scared gaze.

"Five... five..." The man stuttered. He couldn't bring himself to say the rest of the words.

The woman got impatient and so slapped him on his arm as she shouted, "Five what?! How much did you borrow from the loan sharks?!."

The man screamed in pain because his wife just hit where he was bruised.

"Five Million!." He said at last.

"What?! You... you... you borrowed five million from the loan sharks?!." The woman asked in shock.

The shock was not even the best way to describe the woman's current state of mind, she was beyond shocked.

The woman sat on the floor with a shocked look on her face. She didn't know what to say. She was wondering what her husband was thinking when he went to borrow that huge sum of money from the loan sharks.

She really wanted to open his brain and see it.

"You foolish man! Do you want to kill me?! Do you want our entire family to perish with you?!." The woman cursed as she hit him a few more times.

"If you continue hitting me, I think I will die before the loan sharks get to me!." The man screamed.

"You!." The woman said as she pointed angrily at him.

"You really want to kill me! How come you never told me any of your plans?! You even lied to me that you got enough money to start a business from a rich man, how come you ended up borrowing money from the loan sharks! Ah! how did I offend you that you want to send me to. my early grave?!"

"Wife is not my fault, I was only trying to make us rich, so we don't have to suffer again, I'm sorry!." The man pleaded as he cried, maybe because of the pains he was feeling, or because of the trouble, he landed himself in.

"Are you sure you're sorry? Does that mean the money you've been squandering and gambling with was borrowed from the loan sharks?! How much of it is left?." The woman asked angrily

"Five... five thousand." The man replied in a low tone.

"What?! Are you mad?! So you squandered everything you got from the loan sharks?." The woman asked in shock.

"I didn't squander everything, I gave some to you!." The man said.

"What nonsense! The money you gave to me was used for feeding and upkeep, and I only bought a few things for me and the children, so don't you dare try to push the blame to me!." The woman said while pointing at him angrily.

"Wife, please help me beg your brother for some money, I promise I will pay him back later. If I don't return 50% of the money in three days, those people will kill me!." The man pleaded as he grabbed his wife's hands.

The woman flung his hands away as she scolded him.

*You want me to borrow money from my brother, are you drunk?! How rich do you think my brother is? If he was so rich, why do you think he had only one child? Don't you know it's because of his Financial circ.u.mstances? And you ask me to borrow money from him, have you forgotten that you never returned the one he gave to you before?."

The woman reminded him as she glared at him.

When the man got reminded that he never returned the huge sum money of money he once borrowed from his brother-in-law, he slumped on the floor.

"I am finished." The man muttered to himself in a low tone.

His wife scoffed and got up from the floor.

"Treat yourself, and better start thinking of how to repay the money you borrowed from the loan sharks, and make sure you don't involve me and my children in this matter!."

The woman warned before walking away.
