After breakfast, Fu Hee took Jia Li shopping. Since she would be seeing her parents in a few hours, Jia Li shopped with her full attention.

Today was a day that pa.s.ses the date the Loan sharks gave to Mr. Qin's brother-in-law to repay half of the loan, and he was nowhere to be found.

He ran away from his house as went to take shelter in a different city. His wife also took her children and ran away to fear the loan sharks might come to find them in their house.

She never knew her husband was so selfish until the day he left the house and never returned the next day.

She didn't wait to be turned into minced meat, and her children, into corn beef. So she had to flee for her life.

She didn't consider going to her brother's place, because it was not too far from her house, so she had to go to another city.

The Boss of the loan sharks Mr. Qin's brother-in-law borrowed money from, deployed about 6 of his underlings, to infiltrate the man's house.

"Take anything valuable and beat the h.e.l.l out of that stupid man. Kick his a.s.s till he's half dead! Does he think he can run away with my money? I will teach him a good lesson!." The Boss swore angrily.

The 6 people the Boss deployed, went to the address Mr. Qin's brother-in-law filled while applying for the loan.

When they got to the house, the men were looking hideous as they took out their club sticks and started destroying things from outside the house.

Lo and behold, it was Jia Li's house they came to.

Mrs. Qin was around because she caught the flu, so she didn't go to the hospital. she heard the commotion outside and started to panic.

At first, she thought it was some neighbor fighting, but when she heard the gla.s.s window shattering, she knew the noise was coming from her house, she came out of her bedroom, a little afraid.

Mr. Qin was not around, and will only be back a few hours later. At least, he would make it before the time Jia Li gave to them.

"Yah! come out here! You think you can borrow money from us and run away?!." The loan sharks shouted as they used their golf clubs to hit on the door.

With this kind of commotion, who would dare to step out of their houses to see what was happening?

Mrs. Qin was afraid of them. And learning that they were the loan sharks, she began to have doubts if her husband borrowed money from them.

But because she knew her husband wasn't that kind of person, she thought the loan sharks must have come to the wrong address.

She didn't want the loan sharks to know someone was in, or the situation might be more dangerous. But if she continued staying inside, and the loan sharks break-in, she will even be in more danger

Mrs. Qin was in a dilemma and didn't know what to do. But first things first, she needed to call her husband.

Mrs. Qin walked back to her room in silent steps as she tried to mask her cough. She picked up her phone and dialed her husband's number.

Mr. Qin was carrying a plank at the construction site he was working when his phone rang from his pocket.

He put the plank down and took his phone out from his pocket and saw his wife calling.

Immediately he answered the call, he heard his wife's panicked voice.

"Husband, the loan sharks are here, did you borrow any money from them?." Mrs. Qin asked.

"What?! Loan Sharks in our house? I didn't borrow money from them. Where are you?." Mr. Qin asked in a worried tone. His tone was quite heavy.

"I am at home, and I don't have anywhere to run to, the loan sharks are still right outside our door and destroying things. I'm afraid they would break in soon." Mrs. Qin said as she went into a fit of coughing.

"Wife, hang in there. Try not to make any sound, I will be right there." Mr. Qin a.s.sured her as he began walking quickly, to his colleague's side.

"I won't make any sound. Don't come alone, call the police." Mrs. Qin advised.

When the call ended, Mrs. Qin silenced her phone and held unto it tightly. Deep down, she was a little afraid, because the loan sharks were so angry and fierce.

They didn't even want to talk and went straight to destroying things. It was obvious that they didn't come for peace.

Mr. Qin told his colleague at work that he had an emergency at home.

"...help me tell the Engineer." And with that, He left and called the police on his way to his house.

Mr. Qin was worried about his wife being alone at home, and facing that kind of situation when she was down in health, so he couldn't wait for the police, and rushed home first.

When the police asked him not to be rash with his actions, he told them, 'My wife is alone at home, I need to go back to her first.'

Mrs. Qin was so uneasy that she sent a voice note to Jia Li. Her voice sounded so gentle, devoid of how nervous she felt.

Because of her cough, Mrs. Qin couldn't help coughing, so she was forced to stop with the voice note.

"...Jia Li, your father and I, love you so much. I want you to know that you're special. If you meet my family one day, it will be fate. Take care of yourself and I hope you turn your great dreams into realities."

After sending the voice note, Mrs. Qin kept her phone aside. But before she could turn around, she heard the door open with a bang and was followed next by sounds of rushed and heavy footsteps.

"Beat anybody you see, destroy everything!." One of the loan sharks shouted angrily at his colleagues.

Mrs. Qin was so afraid, that her fingers were shaking. Right there, she wanted to cough, but she tried holding it in, and what happened next, was her coughing uncontrollably as a result of choking.

The loan sharks heard her coughing and started making their way towards her bedroom.
