”It’s okay.” Fu Hee comforted her.

Fu Hee sympathized with Jia Li after coming to know the kind of pressure the entire family had unknowingly put her into. The young woman has been carrying a burden all this while. She is the victim here.

The pressure that comes with childbearing can be enormous, especially when a woman is not ready, or can’t conceive. In Jia Li’s case, she was ready and with everyone’s expectancy, there was a bit of pressure on her.

These two women hugged, one comforted the other one and agreed to keep her secret, while the other one said her thanks and dried her tears. All these happened without knowing that Fu Hua was right outside the door, listening to them.

He has been standing since the second time Fu Hee asked Jia Li if she was pregnant therefore, he heard their entire conversation.

He didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but because he really wanted to know what his wife was hiding from him, and because of his worries, he had to pause in his steps and listen.

Fu Hua was really surprised by the revelation. He had no idea that his wife has been suffering silently, and he blamed himself a little. For her to cry, she must have suffered a lot.

Fu Hee released Jia Li from her embrace and said, “Never put yourself under any pressure, and don’t let anyone do the same. Having another child is not an order, so you and Fu Hua can take your time.”

Jia Nodded and rubbed her left eye before saying, “Thank you, Mum. I’m going to check it now.”

”Go ahead.” Fu Hee said and patted her arm twice. As Jia Li left, Fu Hua walked in, to the shock of Fu Hee who only guessed that he heard their entire conversation.

”When did you come back? Have you been standing there all these while?” Fu Hee inquired.

Fu Hua looked at her and asked, “Is there a problem?” Seeing his mother tongue-tied, Fu Hua walked away.

’Jia Li, it looks like we have no more secrets to keep.’ Fu Hee thought to herself and quickly turned around to say to her son, “Hua, don’t make any trouble!”

”Was I supposed to make any trouble before?” Fu Hua responded as he continued in his steps.

Fu Hee hoped that her son wouldn’t make matter out of this, but she trusted that he wasn’t that kind of person. She has never heard him argue with Jia Li before.

’Let’s hope he remains a good husband with values.’ Fu Hee prayed in her heart.

Immediately Jia Li got into the bedroom, she dropped her bag on the couch, removed her shoes, and ran into the bathroom with the plastic nylon bag from the pharmacy.

There were 3 pregnancy test kits from different companies. Jia Li didn’t want the same mistake as the last time to repeat itself, so she was prepared.

While removing the test kits from their packs, her hands were fidgeting and her heartbeat increased by a few paces. She wished the results will come out positive.

After managing to get a hold of herself, Jia Li went on to use them. Next, she placed them in their packs and went on to undress and have a shower.

Throughout the time she was in the shower, her mind was on the pregnancy test kit. She wondered what the result would be.

Right at this time, Fu Hua walked into the room. He looked around and saw the things Jia Li left on the couch and the floor.

He didn’t need to guess where she was because he could hear the sound of water from the bathroom. Since she was in the bathroom, Fu Hua walked into the inner room and went straight to the walk-in closet.

He had already thought of clearing the doubts in his head and Jia Li’s head. Whether she was pregnant or not, he would have to confirm it from a doctor. For him, Pregnancy test kits were an a.s.sumption.

With that thought in mind, Fu Hua picked an outfit for Jia Li, because on his way to the bedroom, he booked an appointment with an obstetrician. This was a serious issue he needed to handle once and for all.

Fu Hua was trying to pick out footwear for Jia Li when he heard her scream. He abandoned what he was doing and rushed into the bathroom, only to see her on the floor, and the pregnancy test kits on the floor. She had slipped and fallen with the kits in her hands.

Jia Li was shocked by Fu Hua’s presence and also embarra.s.sed because of her state, but Fu Hua didn’t seem to care. He immediately scooped her into his arms and carried her to the walk-in closet.

Jia Li was still shocked to see Fu Hua that she remained silent. ‘When did he come home? When did he come into the bedroom?’ She thought to herself.

”How could you be so careless in the bathroom?” Fu Hua asked. His countenance was frosty. He looked very annoyed and p.r.o.ne to violence.

Jia Li didn’t say a word. How could she tell him that she fell because she was shocked? That would mean that she was truly careless like he said, and he would berate her the more.

”What were you thinking?” Fu Hua asked as he put her down on the chair and gazed at her angrily. Jia Li didn’t dare to meet his gaze, she couldn’t stand the fire burning in his eyes.

She rubbed her arm that hurt while looking downwards. Her little actions stopped him from scolding her further. At this juncture, Fu Hua didn’t know what to do anymore, he continued staring at her for a few more seconds before sighing.

The next moment, he got closer to her and took her arm, and looked out for any bruise or injury, because the patch of her skin that landed on the floor, was red.

”Does it hurt?” He asked gently. The sudden switch from anger to care, took Jia Li unaware, and it made her lost.
