With that, Jia Li said, “Yes, I did suspect that I was pregnant yesterday, but I had a reason for hiding it from you.”

”I already know the reason.” Fu Hua replied immediately.

”You know the reason, how did you know the reason?” Jia Li asked, but didn’t wait for a reply as an idea struck her. “You heard when mum and I were talking?”

”I heard everything. Look, I don’t want to argue with you or reprimand me since I’m not like that. I just want to caution you about something. We are husband and wife, we are one since after getting married, so stop hiding things from me. I hope that I don’t have to repeat this statement.” Fu Hua said to her.

He poured out everything he wished to say to her in a good summary. He didn’t want any more problems between them.

He didn’t want her to apologize and repeat the same mistake, so he wanted her to promise him that.

Jia Li sighed and said, “Alright, I promise you. I won’t keep anything from you again. So tell me, are you happy with our new baby?”

Fu Hua smiled when the baby was mentioned and said with an expectant gaze, “Of course, I am very happy, do I need to spell it out for you?”

”You didn’t look happy when the doctor announced the good news to us.” Jia Li reminded.

”That is because, you slipped and fell with a baby in your womb, but didn’t deem it important to visit the hospital for a check-up.” Fu Hua revealed the reason for his countenance.

Jia Li gazed through the window, “That’s because I wasn’t thinking properly. I was surprised and happy about the pregnancy result, then you shocked me by coming into the bathroom when I wasn’t expecting you to be back home soon.”

”I was already at Jasmine’s school when you sent me that text, just a minute after I was told that you had taken her.” Fu Hua revealed with his eyes on the road, while his hands relaxed steadily on the steering.

”Oh…” Jia Li uttered.

The couple was quiet for a few minutes before Fu Hua spoke, “Do you want anything special to eat?”

”Yes, I am very hungry. I will anything apart from sour cream, ginger, and garlic.” Jia Li said with an irritated gaze.

She still couldn’t forget her terrible experience at the new restaurant Fu Hua took her to. Also, she hasn’t been eating well because of her anxiety, and now that her pregnancy has been verified, she was hungry due to the excitement. Her appet.i.te has been unlocked.

Fu Hua thought of something and asked, “Are you sure you didn’t dislike thee food because your taste buds changed due to pregnancy?”

”No, it’s definitely not that case. Who on earth would eat sour cream with ginger and garlic spice? It’s very weird.” Jia Li said with a disgusted frown.

”You are right,” Fu Hua said while nodding. “The combination is weird, and maybe it’s only pregnant women that will eat something like that.”

”You can’t say that… I am also a pregnant woman, but the flavor of the food almost made me throw up.” Jia Li replied with her gaze on him, as her countenance still showed how annoyed she was.

Fu Hua studied her facial expression and shook his head. There was no need to argue further with her. He had wanted to tell her that every pregnancy was different, including the hormones in other pregnant women, but he decided not to say anything.

He could tell that she was starting to get very annoyed, and maybe her pregnancy hormones were starting to get full control of her emotions.

Instead of keeping quiet, Fu Hua decided to change topics and cha with her, so she wouldn’t still think about that food combination.

”What would you like to eat? Which restaurant would you like us to go to?” Fu Hua asked as he glanced over.

Jia Li smiled at that question and said, “A spicy noodle would do. Would you mind cooking for me?”

Fu Hua darted his eyes in her direction in astonishment. He was thinking she was going to mention some special dishes that were hard to get, or probably expensive, but she optioned for a spicy noodle?

Another shock he got, was her second request. She wanted him to cook the spicy noodle for her.

”You can eat whatever you want, and I won’t mind. But you see your second request, I do mind it.” Fu Hua said and turned his gaze away and focused on the road.

He couldn’t imagine himself entering the kitchen to cook a pot of spicy noodles for her hence, he rejected her outrightly.

Jia Li pouted and pulled his arm gently, “You don’t want to cook for your babies?”

”Babies?” Fu Hua asked as he turned over to look at her with a confused gaze. “Are we having twins?”

”What things? You have three babies currently. I am your first baby, Jasmine is your second, and the one in my womb is your third baby. But right now, there are two babies in front of you and requesting the same thing.” Jia Li explained.

”You have truly become shameless…” Fu Hua said in a low tone and turned back his gaze to the road.

Jia Li smiled at his response and raised her fingers to tap on the car’s window on her side. She didn’t need to hear Fu Hua speak or nod before knowing that he has accepted to cook spicy noodles for her.
