Chapter 37 - I Know You're Hungry

When he saw Emmelyn pouted her lips in annoyance, Mars was sooo tempted to kiss her, and then pounce her... strip her and... do all kinds of lewd things to her.

He didn't know why he could not hold himself back whenever he was near her.

Maybe it was because he now a.s.sociated her with pleasure?

Maybe it was because he was a late bloomer who just experienced the pleasure of s.e.x and now he just wanted to do it again and again, and again..?

Unknowingly, his naughty hand slowly slipped to the side and squeezed Emmelyn's b.u.t.t.

A startled Emmelyn instantly pulled out a knife from under her clothes and stabbed it on the chair, just an inch away from Mars's hand, which had naughtily grabbed her b.u.t.t.

"I told you not to startle me," scolded Emmelyn, pulling out the knife from the chair and placing it on the table.

"I am sorry, it was out of reflex," Mars admitted his mistake with a grin. "I was too absorbed in what Doctor Vitas told us... to do it every day."

Emmelyn narrowed her eyes and let out a 'hmmph' sound. "You're lucky I missed."

"YOU'RE LUCKY, you missed," Mars replied. "Do you think you can leave this castle in one piece after you hurt the crown prince?"

Emmelyn hated that the man was right.

"Whatever."

Mars actually meant what he said. He thought they were both lucky that Emmelyn missed.

If the king or queen saw him injured while staying in his castle, without fighting any wars, they would investigate what happened and wanted to get to the bottom of it. They would know it was Emmelyn, and the girl would be as good as dead.

Mars still wondered why Emmelyn had a knife with her. He didn't know this, but Emmelyn was used to carrying a knife under her clothes after leaving Wintermere.

Apart from disguising herself as a man, she also protected herself with a weapon. Life outside the palace was tough, and she didn't want to die. At least, she didn't want to die before getting her revenge.

"Do you always carry a knife with you?" asked Mars. "I did not know that."

"There are a lot of things you don't know about me," Emmelyn said nonchalantly.

She had indeed hidden her knife after the failed a.s.sa.s.sination attempt because she was afraid Mars would always remember that their first official meeting happened when Emmelyn was about to stab him in the middle of the night while the man was sleeping.

But after Emmelyn felt that her position was safe in this castle, she was back to her habit of carrying a knife.

She just liked being vigilant. After all, she was currently staying in the enemy's den. Being the prince's bed warmer did not necessarily mean she should lower her guard down.

Inwardly, Emmelyn felt happy because she had just scared the prince.

[Ha. That's what you get for startling me.]

"You're right, there are many things I don't know about you," Mars nodded in agreement. "But slowly, I learned. Now, I already know what your favorite foods are. I also know what position you like the most when we are having se—"

Mars did not continue his words because he saw her murderous glare directed at him.

"Hmmph .." Emmelyn rolled her eyes.

"I want to know why do you carry a knife," said Mars with a smile. "Is it for protection, or... do you still want to kill me?"

"Do you still have to ask?" asked Emmelyn curtly.

"Hey .. if you kill me, your children will lose their father. Do you want your children to grow up without a father?" asked Mars in amazement.

Emmelyn rolled her eyes and walked out of the hall, pretending not to hear the prince's words. Somehow, her face flushed red and felt hot.

[What did this sc.u.mmy prince say? Do I want my children to grow up without a father? I am NOT EVEN PREGNANT!]

Emmelyn subconsciously felt her stomach, which was still flat.

Gosh ... what if she really was pregnant?

They had done the deed every day ...

Was there still time for her to ask for the fertility potion from a witch so that she could carry several babies at the same time?

"Hey .. where are you going?" asked Mars. "The dining room is on the left."

Emmelyn immediately looked back with an annoyed face and saw the man pointing in the opposite direction where she was going.

She furrowed her brows. "How did you know I want to go to the dining room?"

"Because I know you're hungry," said Mars. "You usually squeeze your fingers when you're hungry."

The man then got up from his chair and walked to the left. Meanwhile, Emmelyn, who had almost entered the side door to the stable, immediately realized that Mars was right. She almost got the wrong door.

While walking towards the dining room, the girl looked at her hands and observed her fingers. Was it true that she squeezed her fingers when she's hungry? She had never noticed this before.
