The one-armed man looked at the surface of the ocean quietly, not turning his head around.

A few cavalrymen of the Supreme Church thought of the rumors and the rumored order of forbidding the fishermen from going out on the sea, and couldn’t help but steal a glance at the surface of the sea; a terrified expression showed on their faces.

The one-armed man seemed to have heard the inner voices of these cavalrymen, saying, “The Sea has gone to the underground.”

The cavalrymen of the Supreme Church didn’t understand what he said; the leader of the group reiterated, “The Pope requests for the Master Sword King to return to the Supreme Church.”

The one-armed man commented lightly, “That G.o.dly scoundrel is going to claim this as the heavenly punishment. All he wants is to occupy more territory. There is no point in making the matter so complicated.”

The leader of the cavalrymen was taken aback when he heard the comment, but he became enraged soon after and stood up, yelling, “Even though you’re the Sword King, you still can’t show such disrespect to His Majesty, the Pope!”

“Do you know my name?” asked the one-armed man.

The cavalrymen of the Supreme Church eyed each other, speechless. All they knew was that the Master Sword King had suddenly shown up in the Church City more than one hundred years ago and had no idea where he was from.

“My name is Jian Xilai.”

The sunlight shone on the face of this one-armed man. His face was devoid of any emotion, resembling a carved face on a stone statue.

“I thought that they would call me when Green Mountain was on the brink of destruction. Looks like I have to go back to the south.”

He had been the G.o.dly Swordsman of West Ocean in Chaotian, and now he was the Master Sword King on this land. The change of name had happened in the last one hundred years.

Since he intended to go back to Chaotian, his name would change back to the former one.

“Master, what are you going to do?”

The leader of the cavalrymen felt ill at ease, saying, “The Supreme Church has supported you for more than one hundred years. Are you going to flee when a war is upon us?”

The G.o.dly Swordsman of West Ocean headed toward the surface of the sea, ignoring the leader of the cavalrymen.

The leader of the cavalrymen looked at a priest in the group and gave a hand signal.

Crack!!!

A few bolts of lightning that looked like sword lights struck down from the blue sky and hit the priest and the leader of the cavalrymen squarely.

Their blood splashed onto the beach like water; but the two of them were nowhere to be found. All of their weapons turned into a puff of green smoke, including the Bravery Sword bestowed to the leader of the cavalrymen by the Pope and the hidden magic ware the priest had with him.

The cavalrymen of the Supreme Church knelt on the ground pale-faced and knocked their heads on the ground toward the man walking on the surface of the sea, not daring to attack him.

Jian Xilai flew to the surface of the sea and looked down at the dark and gloomy pa.s.sage at the bottom of the sea, murmuring, “I don’t know if I can get there in time.”

No sooner had he said this than a few sword lights emerged from inside of his clothes as he traveled forward as fast as lightning.

He vanished from the surface of the sea.

The ocean is made of water.

Though a large amount of sea water had plunged into the Underworld from the Huge Whirlpool, the sea level at the East Ocean hadn’t dropped; it was as peaceful as ever if the ripples caused by the Great Grandmaster of the Mysterious Dark Sect coming out of the ocean were disregarded.

Many swordsmen of the Fruit Formation Temple and the Water-Moon Nunnery couldn’t withstand the double effects of the destruction of the formations and the unparalleled demonic magic any longer, and died after spitting out mouthfuls of blood and dropping to the ground.

The Great Grandmaster of the Mysterious Dark Sect gave off a great deal of dark and gloomy energy, freezing the frosty wild gra.s.s into crumbs and then burning them into nothingness.

As the wild gra.s.s was gone, Tong Yan had nowhere to hide. He was coughing nonstop; the cliff wall behind him was shuddering with creaking sounds, the broken stone chips falling down constantly.

A moment earlier, Tong Yan made use of the demonic magic of the Great Grandmaster of the Mysterious Dark Sect to have killed the Chief Master of the Script Instruction Hall; but he was also severely wounded himself.

“What is the point of risking your life?”

The Great Grandmaster of the Mysterious Dark Sect laughed while looking at Tong Yan. He waved his right hand softly, and a band of demonic energy entered the Heavenly Well.

The earth was quivering, and the carved scripts on the cliff walls became shallower again. The sea water was rolling up and down, forming unsightly foams on its surface.

The thirty-three barriers of the Heavenly Well had been all broken down. A band of green smoke rose from the foot of the cliff, growing increasingly thicker and more ma.s.sive.

The green smoke spread to the surroundings of the Heavenly Well at a fast speed, then to farther places in all directions.

The wild hares fleeing to the forest and the wild gra.s.s and the field mice struggling to get to the underground dropped as soon as they came in contact with the green smoke, dying painfully after twitching agonizingly a few times.

Countless fish died because of the green smoke. The dead fish flew to the surface of the ocean by the undercurrent, giving off silvery glows, which looked rather beautiful. In fact, it was a terrifying scene.

Those pract.i.tioners of the Fruit Formation and the Water-Moon Nunnery who were still alive revealed a despaired expression on their faces as they saw the green smoke.

The green smoke brushed past them with the wind; but it didn’t cause any harm to them. However, if the smoke reached the official roads and the villages…what would happen to those mortals?

This was the destruction of the world!

An old monk of the Fruit Formation Temple stood up in a staggering manner; he hoped to block the green smoke for a brief moment at the expense of his own life.

“Like I said, it’s meaningless to do so.”

Looking at the old monk, the Great Grandmaster of the Mysterious Dark Sect went on, “The Heavenly Well is opened up, and the green smoke is in the human world now. Who can stop all this?”

No sooner had he finished the sentence than a voice responded to him in the sky.

It was a loud thunder.

A hole appeared in the sky.

A large Buddha dropped down from the Empty Realm.

The Buddha landed on top of the Heavenly Well squarely.

The green smoke coming up to the human world from the Underworld was blocked by the Buddha.

Looking at the green smoke filling the fields and mountains and those dead lives, a benevolent expression showed on the Buddha’s face. He took a deep breath.

The strong wind whistled as the green smoke rolled before him. The Buddha inhaled the smoke into his belly.

As a result, his belly grew bigger.

The large Buddha sat on the Heavenly Well to block it completely. However, some smoke came out from the cracks on the cliff wall. His face amid the smoke looked like a Buddha statue whose paint was peeled off, giving a solemn feel to it.

The Great Grandmaster of the Mysterious Dark Sect looked at the large Buddha and asked, “Which temple are you from? I listened to the scripts for many years at the Fruit Formation Temple; but I’ve never seen a Buddha like you there.”

“I’m from the small temple in White Town,” replied the large Buddha.

The Great Grandmaster of the Mysterious Dark Sect folded his hands behind him and hunched his back and sighed like an old farmer. “It turns out that the Broadsword King Cao Yuan looks like this,” he remarked.

“What’s wrong with my look?” pressed Cao Yuan, baffled.

The Great Grandmaster of the Mysterious Dark Sect said with a complicated emotion, “I didn’t expect you to be so fat.”

The Broadsword King was the most respected swordsman in Chaotian.

Both the mortals and the swordsmen of the Cultivation world had many imaginations of him.

If they knew that he was such a fat Buddha, they would feel disappointed.

Feeling indignant, Cao Yuan retorted, “I’ve eaten all the provisions of the imperial court and the Windy-Broadsword Church, not to mention the contributions in the temple…How can I be not fat?”

The Great Grandmaster of the Mysterious Dark Sect barked frustratingly, “You’re Cao Yuan, the Broadsword King. How come you can’t restrain your mouth?! Would you die if you ate a bit less?”

Cao Yuan sighed, “If I didn’t eat so much to become big and fat, I would have no way to fight against her…since you have no idea how strong the Queen is.”

Hearing this, the Great Grandmaster of the Mysterious Dark Sect had a slight change on his countenance. “Oh, that’s why. I truly respect you.”
