Yan Yan was puzzled by her glance.
He simply put down his books and looked towards Zhong Qing.
That look that let him stay for a while.
Most of the time, when Peony glanced at him, she'd be either calm or with a faint smile. Her overall temperament was always dignified and beautiful, like the beautiful peony flowers in murals.
But that day, it was different. It seemed like there was something wrong. Her face looked like a Hongxiao (red silk) blus.h.i.+ng all over and her eyes seemed with a hint of shyness. The whole person looked lively and present, but somehow distant.
"Snap!"
He closed the book so hard, stood up, and said, “I am a bit sleepy, I will take a rest first."
Zhong Qing suddenly gained consciousness and was surprised with what Yan Yan said.
She looked outside and saw the sun.
Yan Yan's daily routine schedule was very strict. He was allowed to take a break for only 2 minutes after the lunch. "Why is he suddenly different today?" Zhong Qing thought.
She was in doubt and asked the System, “Did I give him a task too hard?"
The System flash into a white light and its answer was very positive. “Host, please do not doubt the authority of the System. I sorted out for the host, definitely spanning thousands of years, after countless proven scientific learning methods. It is impossible to learn according to this arrangement."
Zhong Qing immediately closed her mouth.
The System was normally cold, but when it came to solving problems, it was known to usually "blow up".
After all, with the current setting of the System, it was the most important thing to explain the endless matter of the chatter. Finally, it told Zhong Qing to apologize and admit her own fault.
——
Yan Yan ran to the backyard.
He got into the mini pond pool, poured a cold water into his two hands, and splashed on his face, only to let the heat down on his face.
His heart was beating fast and his head was full of smile of the Peony.
Yan Yan did not know what that meant.
"What is happening to me? I don't know why I felt this. What is this?"
He couldn't resist his feelings.
He was feeling a little bit sad also and afraid because this is his last day of staying in the small courtyard.
—
On the next day, early in the morning, there was a team of well-dressed palace people holding a variety of clothing and perfume for him.
Before, Yan Yan looked with disdain those who lived in the palace. But right at that moment, he looked at them with kindness and obsequious smile, even if in his heart, he still had a strange feeling about himself.
w.a.n.g Fu was surprised at him because Yan Yan was looking normal, not the usual that he imagined. He expected that Yan Yan might be frightened or might get shy or might cry. w.a.n.g Fu just secretly observed him.
Yan Yan looked back at the window where the Peonies pots were. There was a Peony flower pot where the plant was lus.h.i.+ng but not flowering. That slightest humble peony cannot attract people’s attention.
When there are other people, Sister Peony will return to her body.
People were amazed to see Yan Yan wearing a prince robe with a Jade belt on his body which symbolized that he was a Prince. They used to see Yan Yan wearing an old green cloth, but that time, the little kid was totally different. For them, Yan Yan became handsome and his whole temperament changed.
Although, the 10-Year-old being a Prince sounded like a joke, for w.a.n.g Fu, seeing Yan Yan at first glimpse was like seeing a young man showing off to his majesty.
Perhaps, some people seemed really innocent those days that even if the situation was difficult, they would also obliterate the little kid's innate temperament, wouldn't they?
