Chapter 201 - An Unreasonable Woman

Translator: Lav

Dean Chen and Qin Huaiyuan’s wife were shocked. The doctor also stood to the side, not knowing what was going on. Although there weren’t many people around the operating room, there were some walking by. They all stopped, wanting to know what was happening.

However, Qin Huaiyuan’s wife more or less understood the situation. These people looked like they were friends with s.h.i.+ Lei, but how could an ordinary family like s.h.i.+ Zhongping’s be friends with these fuerdais?

Qin Huaiyuan’s wife dragged Dean Chen to the side nervously and asked in a small voice, “Whose kids are they?”

Dean Chen sighed. “I’m only familiar with two of them,” he said. “The one who let you call the police with his phone is the child of CEO Jiang from Jiangyang Properties. The other one—the tallest one—is the child of Chairman Hu from Zhenping Real Estate. I only recognize the other kids’ faces, but none of them are easy to deal with. Even the worst off in this bunch has at least ten billion yuan…”

When Qin Huaiyuan’s wife heard that, she became dizzy. What the h.e.l.l are these people? Is it cool to come and bully a woman like me? My Lao Qin is still lying in the operating room! And even if Qin Huaiyuan himself was well enough to jump around, he wouldn’t dare act out against these young men. Even though it looked like his words mattered in Da Hua Electronics, in reality, he was just another worker. Half of Da Hua Electronics’ property belonged to the country and the other half belonged to the company. Qin Huaiyuan was only a general manager and factory owner with about ten percent of the shares. And of that ten percent, five were for management. He could only earn dividends from it and couldn’t use it for himself. So in actuality, only five percent belonged to him. Da Hua Electronics’ net worth was barely in the ten billions, so even if she counted the management shares, Qin Huaiyuan’s a.s.sets barely reached one billion. Just how in the world did he offend these people?

No, it wasn’t these people whom Qin Huaiyuan had offended, but s.h.i.+ Lei. But wasn’t s.h.i.+ Lei only the child of an ordinary worker and studying at a university in Wu Dong? How could he become friends with so many fuerdais who were willing to stick up for him?

At this moment, a gurney carrying Qin Huaiyuan was pushed out of the operating room.

Those fuerdais all abruptly turned around, pointed at him, and began to curse.

“Hey, grandson! Get the f*ck up! Stop playing around!”

“Don’t think that you can fake it by lying here. You dare accuse my friend? You really overestimated yourself, huh!?”

“Hurry and get up!” One of them said, even sending a kick toward the gurney.

The loud sounds scared the doctors and nurses, who all held onto the gurney in fear. Dean Chen also walked forward in panic and blocked the mob. “Guys, this is a hospital after all. Manager Qin really did just have surgery. The anesthetic is still in effect, so can you wait until after he wakes up to talk?”

The young men all turned to their leader, who was the man whom Dean Chen called “Xiaohua.” He nodded and said, “Fine. I’ll give Dean Chen face, but…” He turned and looked at Qin Huaiyuan’s wife. “I don’t know who gave you the guts to frame my friend, but I’m telling you right now, I am the one who demolished your house! This isn’t over yet!” With that said, he waved his hand. “Let’s go!” The others laughed wickedly and pushed Qin Huaiyuan’s wife aside as they strode away.

Qin Huaiyuan’s wife felt so wronged that she was on the verge of tears. Just who the f*ck do you think you are? You demolished my house, hurt my Lao Qin to the point that he’s still unconscious even now, and yet you’re saying that it’s still not over!?

She was so angry that she didn’t even pay attention to Qin Huaiyuan, who was still lying on the gurney. She didn’t know where the crazy energy inside of her came from, but she chased after those fuerdai.

“Don’t run away! Do you have any excuse for demolis.h.i.+ng my house?! Stop!”

She chased them all the way to the entrance of the hospital and stumbled as she finally grabbed Hu Xiaohua’s clothes. She sobbed. “Everyone!” she called out. “Please come and judge what is right and what is wrong! These people demolished my house, beat up my husband, and came to threaten me at the hospital! They are bullying a poor woman like me….”

Hu Xiaohua glared at her and waved his sleeve, flinging Qin Huaiyuan’s wife aside. “If you touch me one more time, don’t blame me for hitting you!” he warned.

The patients around them began to discuss amongst themselves. There were so many luxurious cars parked outside and these young men were dressed so extravagantly, yet Qin Huaiyuan’s wife was the one crying. No matter how they looked at it, the fuerdais were the ones bullying her. Some of the onlookers who liked drama were even about to take out their phones, videotape the whole thing, and upload it online.

Hu Xiaohua and his friends weren’t impulsive people. Seeing the current situation, a person slightly older than the rest but still under thirty years old stepped out with a laugh.

He cupped his hands and said, “Ladies and gentlemen, since this woman is making an accusation, I’ll tell the whole story and let everyone judge whether it’s right or wrong. She is the wife of Qin Huaiyuan, who is our city’s Da Hua Electronics’ factory owner and manager. Everyone knows Da Hua Electronics, right? Over these past few years, the profits are decreasing and the factory is cutting staff members. So our friend’s father was laid off. He is more than fifty years old and worked at Da Hua Electronics for half of his life. How can his family survive if he is fired now? That in and of itself is understandable. The company was cutting staff and it’s just bad luck that he was selected. But the factory wanted to take back their house, which was paid for from a collective source more than ten years ago. It’s also understandable that they wanted to take it back, but they should at least compensate based on the current real estate market price. And yet Qin Huaiyuan—that factory owner Qin—was so conceited and transferred the amount of money the house was worth ten years ago into our friend’s father’s bank account as compensation, then forcefully seized the house. My friend’s father tried to argue using reason and they responded by beating up his wife. Was he just going to stand by and let them do it? He pushed them away and they ended up beating him up as well. They broke his leg and pushed him down the stairs, giving him a head injury. He is still unconscious at the moment. Everyone, is 20,000 yuan from ten years ago the same as the 20,000 yuan now? Even if you just put it in the bank, it would’ve doubled by now, not to mention how bad the inflation has grown over the years. A 40,000 or 50,000 yuan house from more than ten years ago is worth about a million now. They only gave him 20,000 yuan and told him to move out. So we couldn’t just stand there and watch! We demolished Qin Huaiyuan’s house. We were planning to go to the police station today and pay for the damages, but we never thought that this woman would call the police and say that my friend is the one who demolished her house. She even insisted that he beat her husband up. The hospital has examined Qin Huaiyuan and concluded that his injuries were not caused by a person. No one laid a finger on her family. The house was demolished by us. That, I acknowledge and confess to. But she is wrongfully accusing my friend! We found her and tried to reason with her, but she started acting unreasonably. Please tell us this: Should we take the situation into our own hands?!”

Everyone understood what he meant. Some of them even knew Qin Huaiyuan from Da Hua Electronics and all of a sudden, their view changed. The people began to curse at Qin Huaiyuan’s wife.

She started to wail and dropped to the ground. Even thought she continued to curse and scream, no one felt any sympathy.

At this time, sirens sounded outside and a police car stopped in front of the entrance. Seeing that the front of the hospital was blocked by five or so luxurious cars, the police were extremely astonished. They quickly jumped down from the car and caught sight of Qin Huaiyuan’s wife, who was rolling around on the ground and wailing.

Hu Xiaohua saw the police’s arrival and smiled. “We didn’t touch her,” he said. “Everyone here can attest to that. You are here for the report, right? Are you from the Binjiang police station? We’ll go there ourselves. Sorry to trouble you, but please take this woman there too. If she’s not there when we get there, hmph…” With that said, Hu Xiaohua waved his hand and everyone followed him out the front door.
