Chapter 59.1 - Disappointed in him

So why did it suddenly become the eldest miss scheming for her daughter to get into bed with someone else?

All of these holes in her story really deserved a thorough questioning.

“This …” Ruan Zhen’s face changed, her hands that gripped her handkerchief got tighter.

d.a.m.n it, she forgot that she originally schemed for that d.a.m.n Lou Qingwu to be caught with some servant.

Now this happened and messed up her original plans, making it hard to explain.

But she was still resentful and didn’t want her daughter to just suffer this humiliation by herself, why did nothing happen to that Lou Qingwu!  

“Laoye, your wife was just worried about that child Qingwu so when I heard that she got caught, I just ran over. Maybe, maybe it was your wife who heard wrong and she hadn’t gotten caught. If you don’t believe me, ask Chun Tao. Chun Tao, come here and explain what happened?”

Ruan Zhen was betting that Chun Tao wouldn’t dare to say anything or otherwise, she’d break her legs!

But she’d called out for half a day now, and there was still no one answering her call.

The Chun Tao who notified her, seemed to have disappeared.

Lou Qingwu lowered her eyes as she stood there, her little face going pale as the water in her eyes grew.

Her expression was as pitiful as a delicately weak flower, her voice soft and shaking, “Second mother, if Qingwu did something wrong, you can scold Qingwu, punish Qingwu. But how could you take something like this as a joke? Even though Lianxin little sister isn’t Qingwu’s sister from the same mother, Qingwu had still always thought of her as my true little sister. So even though she accused me, Qingwu didn’t say anything. But … but how could you just take nothing and just accuse and blame Qingwu …”

Her slightly hoa.r.s.e voice was nearly choked up with sobs and made the rest of the guests, who were listening, feel as if something was clutching at their hearts.

Even thinking back on that year’s events and adding on what had just been spread about what Lou Lianxin did in the palace, they all started to look at Ruan Zhen with suspicion and a little unsatisfied.

They didn’t believe her at all, “Eldest miss is right. Second madam, you said that Chun Tao spread fake news to you, so why don’t you get that Chun Tao to come here, right now?!”

Lou Qufeng’s expression became worse as he watched Ruan Zhen with a furrowed brow, “Uncle Liu!”

Housekeeper Uncle Liu quickly came from the corner, “Laoye.”

“Is there someone in the residence called Chun Tao?”

“Reporting to laoye, there is a servant called Chun Tao in the residence.”

“Call her over here!”

“Yes.”

In a short while, Uncle Liu brought over a maidservant.

However, when she lifted up her head, she wasn’t the “Chun Tao” that they saw at the banquet?

Ruan Zhen’s expression darkened.

That Chun Tao had been moved over to the Countess of Chaoxia’s side, so how could she be the one that’s here at the residence?

So what was she going to do now?

She was suddenly resentful of Lou Qingwu for being so sharp and at the same time, definitely sure that that little sl*t is a wolf with sheep’s skin on!

Angrily gritting her teeth, Ruan Zhen couldn’t give a proper reason, “Laoye, your wife doesn’t know either, that servant girl said that something had happened to Qingwu so your wife just …”

“Ah, second madam really cares about the eldest miss. You’d believe the words of a servant girl that you don’t even know? Furthermore, you didn’t even see the face of the girl in the room properly before calling out the eldest miss’ name and rus.h.i.+ng in? Or did you already know what was happening inside that room?”

“This …” Ruan Zhen had been blocked to the point where she was speechless.

She hatefully looked at the speaker, and it was actually the same old official from before.

TL note:

Uncle Liu - not really Lou Qufeng’s uncle, the ‘uncle’ is just a respectful term for someone who’s older. In this case, he’s probably been the housekeeper for a long time and so, has gained Lou Qufeng’s respect.

Ruan Zhen has a really good rebuke to this but this was already halfway so ya’ll just gotta wait until tomorrow.
