Chapter 94.1 - Three large offences

Two days later, Lou Qingwu stood in front of the Ministry of Justice.

She walked straight into the main hall of the ministry and struck the bell as it rang outside.  

Hearing the knocking of the bell, justice officer Zhou Chengtian immediately brought people to come outside to the main hall.

But when he saw Lou Qingwu, he visibly froze.

“Miss Lou, what are you doing?”

Lou Qingwu just stood there, in all white, warm and gentle, and not at all like someone who would appear there.

But in the next moment, when Zhou Chengtian heard that she wanted to take someone to court, he was completely dumbfounded.

In disbelief, he asked again, “Who did you want to say you wanted to take to court?”

Lou Qingwu stood up straight, her eyes falling on the ministry’s Zhou Chengtian. “I want to take the left prime minister’s eldest miss Li Xiangluan to court for three large offences! The first, selling an honest woman, the second, forcing her into prost.i.tution, the third, bribing the justice department’s Zong Ping to mete out private punishment and causing a violent death.”

Zhou Chengtian was shocked by the three alleged offences. “Are you speaking the truth? Where is the victim?”

Lou Qingwu lightly pursed her lips, hearing this, she turned around.

She shouted towards the outside.

Four people immediately came inside, lifting a white cloth covered stretched inside to the main hall.

When they placed the stretcher down, they then quickly left.

Lou Qingwu then looked towards Zhou Chengtian, “This is the victim who I want to act on behalf of. From Jiangyin, the Su family’s daughter Su Sheng, also the justice department’s young official Mu Yunqing’s fiancee from six years ago.”

Lou Qingwu mentioned an official who had quite a high ranking which made Zhou Chengtian startled.

He immediately ordered his people to begin investigation and when he walked to the stretcher, he lifted up the white cloth.

What he saw was a girl who lied silently, covered in blood and stains.

She clearly wasn’t breathing and had died hours ago.

Someone close by to Zhou Chengtian walked closer and spoke in a low voice in his ear.

Zhou Chengtian’s expression became solemn as he slammed his hammer.

“Quickly go request Mu young official and madam Mu to come here.”

“Yes!”

In a short while, Li Xiangluan and Mu Yunqing who had only just woken up and was still quite pale, were brought in.

But behind them, was the right prime minister Li Miao and his son, Li Jingsheng.

Zhou Chengtian was originally in the master’s seat before seeing Li Miao.

His face instantly changed as he jumped down from the seat, “Right minister, why did you come?”

Li Miao expressionlessly swept his eyes over Lou Qingwu before finally looking towards Zhou Chengtian.

“I heard that someone wanted to report my daughter so I wanted to see who had such guts. It turns out it’s the Lou family's eldest daughter, niece Lou, is your father well?”

Lou Qingwu seemed to not have noticed the coldness in his eyes, “My father’s well.”

“Is he? But this prime minister isn’t well at all.”

He angrily flung his sleeve as Li Miao expressionlessly sat in the spot that Zhou Chengtian quickly asked someone to prepare for him.

“This minister will sit here and listen well to see exactly what offence my daughter committed? To actually let official Zhou arrest people all the way from my residence!”

Zhou Chengtian glared at the department’s servant, as he looked innocently back at him.

They couldn’t find anyone at the Mu residence before hearing that Mu young official and madam Mu were at the prime minister’s residence so they went there to grab them.

But who knew that they’d b.u.mp into the right prime minister.

TL note:

Take to court - that’s the meaning of the phase, the literal translation is that she wants to file a complaint against someone but it’s obviously a lot more serious in this context and she wants it done in front of a justice officer/judge, hence take to court.

Justice department/ministry of justice - the first one being the one from the previous chapters, takes care of the jail and is lower in ranking. The second is the actual ministry and deals with problems, is the court of justice and the officials are ranked higher. The literal translation for ‘Ministry of justice’ is the ‘punishment department’.

Niece Lou - LQW is not Li Miao’s niece. He only calls her that as a formality because he and her father are of similar ranking/almost like brothers, so LQW would be kinda like his niece.
