Chapter 3

Strategist Xie had come to point fingers, but in the end he saw an utterly miserable look on the “criminal”, and decided to be softhearted just this once.

Although this was a dreamworld, this subconscious world was also a sort of reality.

Just like how someone in the midst of a dream would never know that he was dreaming, it appeared to Lu Li that everything was perfectly real.

The person he loved was getting married. Not only couldn’t he prevent it, he also had to give his blessings, furthermore it had to be a blessing with a smile.

The smile was too strained. Within the strain there was too much sorrow. And within the sorrow there buried who knew what amount of despair. It was too hard to explain in a few words.

He had drunk too much alcohol, but it only numbed his mind. It did nothing to relieve the pain in his rotting away heart.

He mustn’t yearn for him, mustn’t touch him, now he mustn’t even think of wanting him.

Lu Li didn’t know when he had developed feelings for Xie Jianwei. By the time those emotions grew into a giant parasitic vine, he was already constricted.

The sad thing was, when he was about to put his feelings into words, Lu Qingqing had told him: “Big brother, brother Jianwei just proposed to me!”

Lu Li could only hear a gonging sound reverberating in his head. He discovered the vine constricting him had grown thorns; it injected venom. The venom coursed through his heart instantly and spreaded to the blood vessels. It had eaten away his entire body in the blink of an eye.

His only little sister and the person he was in love with, showed up together.

They wanted to get married.

If he had parents, then he would’ve fled to a faraway place. If Lu Qingqing weren’t his sister, then Xie Jianwei would’ve been his for the taking. But in reality…… Lu Qingqing was the only family he have left; they depended on each other to live. He had to preside over her wedding. He had to, in the place that stood for all things sacred and eternal, give his younger sister away to the person he loved.

How absurd it was.

Yet this ridiculous thing already happened.

When the wedding party ended, the exuberant fireworks that had painted the horizon died out.

The night felt lonesome; the room felt cold. Lu Li drunk himself into a complete mess, and during that muddle-headed state, he seemed to have seen an illusion. It was as if Xie Jianwei finally appeared right before his eyes.

The young man was bathed in the moonlight. He was as beautiful as when he first laid eyes on him.

Lu Li laughed mockingly at himself for a moment.

Xie Jianwei lightly sighed, drew nearer to Lu Li and said, “Don’t sit here. You’re going to catch a cold.”

Lu Li raised his head to look up at him.

Xie Jianwei leaned closer: “Let me help you up……”

“A Wei.” Lu Li looked unwaveringly at him, his voice rough and bitter, “…… Am I dreaming?”

Xie Jianwei: “……”

Lu Li slightly frowned. and mumbled to himself: “Definitely dreaming.” Right at this moment, Xie Jianwei must be with Lu Qingqing. The young couple should be fostering their affections. Just the thought of it made him feel his heart falling apart.

Xie Jianwei decided not to agree with a drunkard’s nonsense, and tried to pull him up. But even though this guy was dead drunk, he was still plenty strong. Xie Jianwei employed all his strength, but not only couldn’t he make the man move, he fell right smack into his arms.

It was an accident, strategist Xie swore!

But a fall was just a fall. They were married to each other for so long, what hadn’t they done? It was simply a hug, that’s all. What would kissing even be?

But the thing that most caught Xie Jianwei unaware was that, he and Lu Li were currently in the situation of one’s chest sticking to the other’s back.1 He had conveniently sat on Lu Li’s thigh, and the big scoundrel’s little scoundrel unexpectedly went stiff!

Xie Jianwei turned his head around to look at him.

Lu Li’s dark eyes sparkled, and stared firmly at the other’s lips.

His gaze were much too naked and bare, flooded with burning thirst and intimation.

Xie Jianwei’s thin lips trembled a bit. This movement was subtle, yet extremely tempting.

Lu Li was originally already staring at him without blinking. At this moment he felt like he was put under a spell. He kissed the other’s lips without a second thought.

In that instant, Lu Li’s head seemed to clear up a little. He was aware of what he should and should not do.

But Xie Jianwei didn’t push him away; on the contrary, he closed his eyes.

Lu Li’s heart suddenly jumped. He held down the back of the other’s neck and impatiently a.s.saulted his mouth. He brought the heavy feelings that had piled up on the bottom of his heart and poured them all out.

It was a drunk man’s make-believe dream.

It was a habit of Lu Li’s already.

Although at the time of break in entry it was somewhat painful——the Lu Li in the dream probably thought that he had no experience in this area, so he was turned inexperienced.2 But the present Lu Li was too impatient, recklessly bas.h.i.+ng sideways and banging straight on. It was hard for it not to hurt.

Xie Jianwei resisted a little, but Lu Li couldn’t stop.

Fortunately, Marshal-daren was “gifted with extraordinary talent.” It wasn’t long until Xie Jianwei got to taste the flavour, and began to pander to Lu Li’s needs.

The wedding night. Tumbling in the sheets in the waves of pa.s.sion. It was actually very fitting to the occasion.

It was just that the targets weren’t quite right.

Lu Li most likely was severely tormented by his wish that was never granted. So he treated this as the feast before his Judgment Day, and overdid things by a long shot.

Xie Jianwei was so worn out that he immediately fainted.

The sky turned bright. Completely awoken from his drunken state, the Lu Li who was all calmed down saw in front of him a chaotic mess, and his whole body froze up.

This place was his younger sister Lu Qingqing and her husband Xie Jianwei’s wedding hall.

They had exchanged vows of marriage here. At this place, they became each other’s lifelong companion.

And he…… at this place had held his sister’s husband……

It wasn’t a dream!

Lu Li’s face ashened. He looked at the fast asleep Xie Jianwei, and felt as if iced water was poured down the pit of his stomach. It made him cold until his fingers violently trembled.

What had he done, he……

The scenes from last night rushed back into his head like a tide. Lu Li could only recall that Xie Jianwei resisted, while he had been the invader, barbaric and unreasonable.

He had gone out of control in his drunken state. He had pushed down his own brother-in-law on his wedding night.

This truth was branded on his heart cruelly like a scalding hot iron. Accompanying the fierce stabs of pain were intense unease and terror.

What to do? What could be done?

Xie Jianwei definitely would despise him to death.

Lu Qingqing also would despise him to death.

What, what should he do!

Lu Li did not want to hurt both of the people who he loved dearly, but now everything’s all finished!

When Xie Jianwei opened his eyes, Lu Li was in the middle of cleaning him up.

Soaking in the pleasant hot water, Xie Jianwei softly exhaled, and lazily opened his eyes.

The instant he made eye contact with Lu Li, the man’s dark pupil contracted. His finger also withdrew out from that region lightning fast.

Xie Jianwei softly groaned, and glared in dissatisfaction.

Lu Li didn’t dare to look at him at all.

Xie Jianwei thought to himself, since when did his family’s child become so well-behaved?

Anyhow, that place was still really sticky. It was uncomfortable if everything didn’t come out. He looked toward Lu Li and said, “…… Don’t stop.”

Lu Li suddenly raised his head.

Xie Jianwei lazily said, “I’m so tired. Don’t wanna do it myself. Help me.”

Lu Li had on a face of incredulity. He fixed his gaze on Xie Jianwei, as if he couldn’t understand the exact meaning of his words.

The pitiable strategist Xie basically did not take the “younger brother-in-law” setting seriously, thinking this was a dream in the first place. Anyway, Lu Li loved him; he also loved Lu Li. They were just doing this kind of thing, was there still a need for all this pretence?

Let alone he and him had done it together. Was putting up a pretence even necessary?

But Lu Li’s expression was in upheaval: “A Wei……”

Xie Jianwei looked at him: “What’s wrong?”

Lu Li, “I……”

Xie Jianwei thought that he was still considering about doing it, and said with a frown, “I’m honestly really tired. Don’t be naughty. Let’s take two days off and then resume.”

Lu Li’s complexion turned abnormally pale: “I’m Lu Li, not Lu Qingqing.”

Xie Jianwei finally responded. He said, “Of course I know that you’re Lu Li.”

Lu Li’s face became even more unsightly: “We……”

Xie Jianwei cut off his words, and simply stated straightforwardly, “Lu Li, I love you.”

He still didn’t find out what Lu Li was anxious about. But in any case, Lu Li was already found. First he would confess, then afterwards they would stay together, and then slowly……

The strategist Xie who had been intelligent for a lifetime, at last, was muddle-headed for a single moment!

His thoughts didn’t even finish, when he felt everything before him shook. Then he could opened his eyes again, to find he already woke up “from the dream.”

Xie Jianwei blinked.

Yan Ke also followed suit and blinked: “Why did you come back so quickly?”

Xie Jianwei: “……”

Yan Ke asked, “How was it? What’s the situation? Which one of his personalities did you run into? Did you find out about the matter that Marshal-daren was concerned about? Did or did two you not have a nice little chat?”

He bombarded successions of questions. But Xie Jianwei was unable to utter a single word.

What’s going on?

He had only confessed. Why was he “chased” out already?

Yan Ke’s eyes went huge. He couldn’t hold back his language: “What the f*ck!”

Xie Jianwei’s lost soul came back into his body, saw Yan Ke and asked, “What’s going on?”

Yan Ke stared intently at the apparatus. After what seemed to be half a day he foolishly turned to look at Xie Jianwei: “Sir! When I set up the magnetic field, it was for you to go in to treat Marshal-daren’s illness. But what did you…… what did you……?”

Xie Jianwei moved him over. He focused his gaze on the data recorded on the apparatus. In a flash, the once good-looking s.p.a.ce between his eyebrows pinched into a Chinese fried donut.3

He murmured, “How could this be?”

Lu Li’s condition had gotten worse. Originally he had only 4 fixed personalities. But now…… there were 2 more!

Yan Ke distraughtly asked, “Sir, in the end what on earth did you do?”

Xie Jianwei recalled for a while, and said, “I didn’t do anything ah……”

Making love was absolutely pervert Lu’s most favourite pastime. He had kept him company for an entire night; any pain he felt he had endured. How could it have gotten Lu Li’s condition worse?

Yan Ke couldn’t care less, and interrogated: “All that you’ve seen and met and done, bring them up one by one and tell me everything.”

Xie Jianwei: “……”

Yan Ke said, “I don’t want to inquire into your married couple **. You just need to…… um…… try to explain what happened in general.”

And so strategist Xie Lu Li carefully told him about how he himself had turned from Lu Li’s partner into Lu Li’s brother-in-law.

Yan Ke listened with a dumbfounded face: “What the h.e.l.l!”

That was also what Xie Jianwei wanted to say.

Yan Ke also couldn’t care less about making fun of Marshal-daren’s exotic hobby, and went on with his questioning: “What did you say before you depart the dreamworld?”

Xie Jianwei vaguely explained a little of the following development.

Yan Ke: “……”

Xie Jianwei said, “He likes me, I like him, too. What’s wrong with confessing?”

Yan Ke facepalmed: “Sir ah, you can’t treat the dreamworld as a dreamworld ah! To you it’s just a place to go in to treat an illness, but to Marshal-daren the dreamworld is real!”

Yan Ke persuaded earnestly, “Put yourself in others’ shoes and think for a bit. You are secretly in love with your brother-in-law and never had the courage to reveal your feelings. But you still have to give your blessings, against your will. The result was that when you wake up, you have pushed down your brother-in-law. But not only did that brother-in-law not kill you, he even followed up with a confession. Do you think that’s normal? Would you be able to take it in? Would you believe it’s true? That was absolutely asking for a nervous breakdown ah!”

Xie Jianwei: “……”

Yan Ke heaved a sigh and said, “You must act along, act along do you understand?”

Xie Jianwei, IQ of 208, had a moment of epiphany: “What you mean to say is, I truly have to act as his brother-in-law?”

Yan Ke nodded seriously: “Not just acting as his brother-in-law. Rather, you have to comply with his setting, and progress according to what he believes is logic. You cannot let the dreamworld collapse!”

Xie Jianwei frowned.

Yan Ke was afraid that the man would become softhearted and just gave it to him straight: “If his setting is that you do not love him, then you cannot love him……”

But Xie Jianwei was truly in love with him: “But……”

“No buts! Only when you ensure the dream is complete can you find the matter that’s gnawing on his mind. Remember, you’re going there to treat his illness, not to make it more serious!”

Strategist Xie had no words left to say.

Yan Ke solemnly said, “This is what’s called as good medicine tastes bitter. Sir you cannot be softhearted. Once you bully him you have to bully him to the end!”

The author has something to say: Hahaha!

Together, let’s play all kinds of PLAY~(≧▽≦)/~ This will be an abnormal sweet little novel, muah muah muah!
