Chapter 107 – Our Cat Has Grown Up
I hurriedly turned my head in surprise. A tiny little figure dashed down the mountains and threw itself into my arms like a little child.
This child’s appearance was lovely, extremely cute! He looked about seven or eight in human years, neatly dressed, and his white and tender face was just like mine except for the scratches from playing around with branches. His short black hair and forehead was soaked in sweat. He had long eyelashes, and eyes just like Bi Qingshen Jun’s, green like emerald. Other than the fact that this child’s features were less serious, and a little more mischievous, the shape of his nose and lips is also very nice. When smiling sweetly, it would cause even dogs, all the servants, and even Yin Zi and Wawa to completely ignore me, and give all the yummy treats to him.
Of course, I wasn’t jealous. Like Bi Qingshen Jun, he also had a few snake scales on his stomach, other than myself, no one else was allowed to touch them other wise he would have a temper. Moreover, on the tops of his head were a pair of the most lovely black coloured cat ears as well as a lively swinging tail. Uh…..In fact, I’ve kind of taken a nibble out of him sometimes, but he loves his mother a lot and doesn’t report me to Yin Zi, otherwise I’d be scolded for days…..the two years I’d spent conceiving hadn’t gone to waste at all.
I wanted to name him Bi Xiao(Little) Mao(Kitten), but everyone rejected this idea saying it was too crude and boorish. In the end, Mo’lin that hateful guy was the one that chose his name, naming him Bi Luo. To protest, everyday I would play with him calling him Xiao Mao and eventually, the little kitten recognized this new name. When Yin Zi found out about this, he made a commotion saying he would be bringing the child up himself.
I objected, but he disapproved by using the excuse that in the several times I’ve brought Xiao Mao outside, there was a time where I had forgotten to bring him back.
Hateful…..cats are naturally bad at remembering things…..Yin Zi is definitely blatantly discriminating against me!
Fortunately, Xiao Mao is quite clever, whatever he sees, he is able to completely remember and recite back. After ten years of teaching, Yin Zi already has nothing else he can teach. We had no choice but to eventually send him to Blue Feather G.o.ddess to be taught, and bought him many more books to read. The more he read, the smarter he became. Using the knowledge he’s learned, he would trick people, steal their chicken, and then gift it to me. I can’t praise him enough!
His progress with his martial arts was a bit slower in comparison. He was a child after all, his arms and legs were not as long as an adult’s nor was it as strong. And, no amount of intelligence would be able to make up for a lack of experience in the real world. But even so, against a hundred Yin Zi’s or Wawa’s, or any of the mountain lords of Luoying Mountain was no problem. Almost all of the large demons from the nearby hill were no longer his opponent, with the only exception his Uncle Bull Devil’s child.
Only I could give birth to such an amazing son in the entire Heavenly Realm! Every time someone comes to visit, I would be bragging and showing off how amazing he is. Ao Yun also likes Xiao Mao very much, and from time to time, he would bring gifts for him saying how much he wished for Xiao Mao to be his own son. This made Xiao Mao’s G.o.dfather Yin Zi extremely angry, wanting to fight him to the death.
I proudly swung my bristling tail, looked at Xiao Mao within my embrace and then wiped the sweat on his forehead, and said, “Today, your uncle and I went to see the Monkey King.”
“That very powerful monkey? Why didn’t you bring me as well?” Xiao Mao appeared a bit disappointed, he lowered his ears and said, “Is it because Xiao Mao is very bothersome?”
Oh heavens. How can this be possible…..I saw that his entire face was full of sadness. I vowed that this kind of thing would not happen again, and promised to all go together next time.
He immediately looked up and gave me the most innocent smile, and then continued to ask, “Are you here waiting for father again?”
“Mhmm…..” I stared at the stone very far away, my heart in frustration.
“I will replace father and accompany you,” Xiao Mao happily said, “Don’t think about father anymore, he left us alone for so many years. Even if he does not come back, it doesn’t matter. Moreover, aren’t we living happily without him?”
“Don’t talk like this about your father, he’s the most amazing person in the entire world!” I was a little angry.
Xiao Mao hastily asked, “My father…..was he a cat?”
“No. He’s a snake.” I didn’t know why he brought this question up, but still gave a serious reply.
“But…..you said that father is the most handsome man, the strongest man, and the most amazing person in all the realms,” Xiao Mao asked in confusion, “I remember…..you said that Uncle Xiao Tian is really ugly, and Uncle Ao Yun and Yin Zi are only average…..”
“They really are ordinary, but when you’re judging someone, you must also look at their character and not just their outer appearance.” I hasten to educate.
“You said Sun Wukong was very handsome,” Xiao Mao continued to ask, “The last time we went down to the village to play, you were blus.h.i.+ng while staring at a large white cat, saying how he was a super handsome guy.”
“But he really was handsome ah, meow woo~…..you better not tell your father I was looking at handsome cats again.”
“Then does my father look more like a monkey or a cat?”
I temporarily paused, only to reply, “Anyway, you’ll know when you see him in the future…..”
Xiao Mao lowered his ears and continued, “I don’t father to come back.”
“Why?” I was puzzled.
“Mother is so beautiful and cute, when father comes back, he’ll definitely steal you from me.” Xiao Mao’s eyes became watery as he stared at me, “At that time, you won’t want me anymore, you’ll abandon me and leave me all by myself, so lonely. How about in another 300 years when I’ve become all grown up, mother can marry me so we can stay together forever.”
I forgot to breath and almost suffocated to death. From behind came a ‘plop’ sound. Yin Zi fell forward, and Xiao Mao quickly stepped forward to help him up, whispering, “G.o.dfather, why are you here? This is the most critical moment of my life.”
“Critical my a.s.s!” Yin Zi angrily scolded, “You little rascal, it’s fine if you trick other people into going through with your ideas, but don’t give your mother any weird thoughts. You know your mother is stupid and would seriously consider your ideas.”
“I really am serious though.” Xiao Mao immediately came to defense, “I mustn’t allow that b.a.s.t.a.r.d to come back and fight with me.”
“Who would believe you? At three, you let out fake tears. At five, you started telling lies. At ten, you began running around tearing off the tiles of every single roof, and now, you are trying to trick your stupid mother into believing your manipulative calculations?” Yin Zi berated.
“What calculations?” listened to their conversation, but did not understand anything, so I just sat and stared at the two.
“Children in their growth period can have silly ideas so don’t take them all so seriously.” Yin Zi laughed.
Xiao Mao hurriedly turned around, revealing an innocent and pure smile, “G.o.dfather was just talking to me about calculations and accounting, he says he wants to teach me about management.”
I understood and nodded, “Very good, learning is a good thing.”
