In an angry manner, Sapphire placed the last washed plate on the dish rack. It collided with the other plates that's why a crisp sound was created.
"Wife, stop being grumpy. Look, you already finished was.h.i.+ng the dishes."
She glared at him when she looked back. "I thought we're friends? But why are you doing this to me?"
"I only taught you how to wash dishes and you already doubt our friends.h.i.+p? You have done it. Next time, just don't be like a rebel."
"Look at my hands!" she shouted while raising her hands. She intentionally raises it in front of his face. "Reddening! Wrinkling! It's so ugly! Everything's your fault!"
He laughed. "It's natural. But don't worry it won't be staying like that for your whole lifetime. Your hands will be back to normal. Come, let's apply some hand lotion so that the softness and smoothness won't be lost." He pulled her towards the room.
She sat down on the bed while he was getting something inside the closet. He went to her and he's holding a bottle of hand lotion. After a while, he started rubbing lotion to her hands while accompanying it with a gentle ma.s.sage.
The plates she washed were not many. She only washed those they have used this morning and lunch. However, she was stomping in anger because she found herself following her 'good' husband's instructions! She can't believe it!
"After this, I'll teach you floor sweeping and mopping. We will also clean the bathroom late—"
Her shrill scream sounded out. "No! No more, Johann! It's the very first day of our marriage but you're slaving me around!" she shouted.
He grimaced. "I'm not exploiting you. I'm just making this day productive for the two of us. All newlyweds have productive days."
"They're productive 'coz they are producing babies! They don't wash dishes or mop the floor!"
"Oh well, what do you want? Let's just produce baby?"
She kicked him on his leg but he managed to evade.
Wallowing in anger, she retrieved her hand from his hold. "I'm going to sleep! I don't want to sweep or polish the floor!" She then lied down and covered herself with the comforter.
"Are you sure you're turning twenty-eighth? Why are you like that? You're like a child! Ay, let me correct it. You're not. Because even a child wants to learn new things more eagerly. Unlike you. My dear Wife, you 're viewing yourself too highly."
Sapphire screamed when Johann grabbed her feet. "Johann!"
"Get up or else I'll kiss you!"
"I don't want to sweep or polish the floor! I hate cleaning bathroom the more! That's so eew!" Hah! She won't ever be made to do what he wants. She really hates being helpless and without choice when arguing against boys. One more thing, no one dared to boss someone like her around!
Johann strengthened his pull on her feet but she grabbed onto the bed's headboard.
"One!" he began counting.
"No!"
"Two!"
"I said, no!"
"Three! If it gets to four, I'll kiss you. On the lips. Torridly!" he warned.
She suddenly rose from her lying position and glared at her husband. "Where's the broom and mop?"
