School of Myth Chapter 2

“Really sir? Wow, this is it! This should be the best school ever!” Rain said happily.

“Okay, then it’s settled. You may enroll now and you will start on Monday.” Zeus replied.

After their discussion, they prepared the necessary doc.u.ments and requirements needed for Rain’s admission. Rain is overjoyed while they are walking towards the exit. He again noticed that the other students are observing them, but didn’t mind it and just wished that he will get to know Krystine soon.

After some time, Rain is still smiling while continuing to stroll around the vicinity. This time however, her elder sister (Ate) is no longer with him because it’s time for her to return to work.

A few moments have pa.s.sed and Rain, still loitering, haven’t noticed that he is already in a different location and he was not following the route back to their house, he is lost. Looking around, he saw many buildings and structures. He intends to go inside one of the buildings and ask for directions when suddenly, a pretty girl rushed outside of the building he intends to enter while being chased by a number of guys.

Rain is confused and he himself went after the guys chasing the girl. Even though he doesn’t know the reason why those guys are going after the girl, he is determined to help her.

The girl ran very fast and suddenly, she turned towards a narrow pa.s.sageway. The guys chasing her and Rain followed through but to their surprise, they abruptly stopped since there was no path through the pa.s.sage.

One of the guys chasing the girl called out to her. “Come with us now,  you cannot escape. You are an important tool for our Lord.”

Rain didn’t like what he just heard and realized that it was right to follow these people. He revealed himself and addressed them.

“Tools? You don’t call people tools! It is not right to call them much more so with an innocent girl!”

The chasers looked at Rain when they heard him.

“And who are you?” said one of them.

Another said, “Don’t mind him. He is  just a naive person trying to become a hero.”

“A naive person? Why don’t you try me?” Rain taunts the bad guys.

However, his provocation did not work. He charged them and those guys didn’t even care or mind him. This made Rain angrier.

“You’re brave, but you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into.  And therefore, go ahead and hit me.” said one of the guys’ Rain is targeting.

[SFX] PAAAAAAAAAAAAAK!
(TN: This is the sound of a punch hitting its mark)

“And so, that will be your greatest regret.” Rain replied.

His right fist landed with force on the man’s face. Because of that, the said man flew shortly and landed on a nearby wall. The other guys and the girl he is trying to save were astounded.

“My bad, but you underestimated me too much.” Rain said with pride.

After that, Rain faced the other guys but they are just smiling when…

[SFX] BLAAAAAAAAAAAAG!
(TN: This depicts a loud sound)

A kick hit Rain’s back and landed near the girl as a result.

“Where did that attack came from?” Rain thought.

“I’ll say, I’m surprised with your punch – It was strong indeed. Our Lord will be pleased if we bring you with us. Though you are not  a Satyr like us, I’m sure that our Lord will have a use for you.” Said the man Rain punched earlier.

(AN: A Satyr is a cla.s.s B mythical creature with a form of half human, half goat. They are fast and swift. Their legs are strong and their kicks can destroy concrete walls 1 to 4 inches thick. They are also good in close combat using swords, spears, axes, and the like)

“Satyr? Dont make me laugh. If that’s what you call yourselves then all I can say is it is a bad name. Hahaha…… *cough! *cough!” Rain said while trying to get up.

Rain forcefully tried to stand while speaking.

“Oh? I’m really impressed because you still managed to stand up after my powerful kick. *Hahahaha! I’m sure our Lord will be pleased when we bring you and Selina the Mermaid to him. I know you’re confused but you will understand everything when you become our slave. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!”

Rain whispered to the girl nearby. “*Cough! *Cough! Miss, my apologies but the guys chasing you are quite strong. But worry not, for I have a plan so that you can escape these fools. When I count to 3, just run away from here fast.  I will hold them off.”

“These Satyr are strong you say? Don’t make me laugh. I went here on purpose so that they cannot escape my attack. However, you suddenly showed up like a Hero so I observed you for a while. I’m quite impressed, for a Human,  I can say that you are unique.” The girl said with a smile.

The girl followed through and whispered to Rain, while he’s still confused. “Hurry up  and cover your ears.”

Rain didn’t fully understand what she said and so he did not follow her. After a few moments, Rain heard a wonderful melody. He stared at the beautiful girl singing a nice song but he can’t really understand it because it’s a different language. Nevertheless, he was still enticed by the angelic sound and continued listening to it.

After singing, Rain heard the girl speaking some strange words and the Satyr were infighting shortly after that. He didn’t understand what is going on now and his body feels weird. He tried to look at the girl again but before he could do it, the girl spoke again and Rain lost consciousness.
