Chapter 4411: No Immortals
Editor: Misty Cloud Translations
The Old Village Chief looked at the three of them and said, “What do you want to ask all this for? If you want to find someone or somewhere, just wait until you get home and let your parents go find them.”
Hao’er’s eyes flashed as he said, ” I heard from my Mother before that there were immortals who cultivated immortality in the Phoenix Empire, and that the Ghost Doctor is a very powerful person, so I’m very curious.”
“Immortals? Hahahaha.” The old man laughed, stroked his beard and shook his head as he looked at the three of them and said, “You are just children. Where in the world are there any immortals? That’s all just legend.”
The three children were taken aback. Their hearts were pounding and they felt a little uneasy. Yue’er said, “But there really are immortals! My mother said so!” She was adamant that there were immortals, and her beautiful eyes looked at him nervously.
“Ha ha ha, then your mother must have been lying to you. Immortals? That’s a legend. I’ve lived most of my life, and I’ve been to many places when I was young, but I’ve never heard of the existence of immortals. They’re all stories, all legends, and they’re all lies.” The Old Village Chief smiled and waved his hand.
“Grandfather Chief means to say that there are no immortals in the Vault Kingdom?” Hao’er looked at him and secretly clenched his small hands.
“Ha ha ha, that’s of course. If there were immortals, there would be no birth, aging, sickness, or death.” The village chief laughed and said, “You children don’t understand. If there were immortals in the world, no one would want to die, everyone would want to become an immortal. Do you think that would be a good world?”
He stroked his beard and laughed, saying, “I’ve lived to this age, what immortals? They’ve never appeared at all. I’ve only heard those people make things up, saying that it’s some sort of legend that’s been pa.s.sed down. In fact, is there really any immortals in this world? There aren’t any.”
The three children didn’t say anything, just looked at each other, feeling a little bad inside. There are no immortals in this place? Then can their Father and Mother find them? And how are they going to go back?
“Alright, alright! You guys, go take a bath and get some rest, and just stay here for a few days! In a few days, the village will transport some firewood to the town to sell, and you can go together in the donkey cart, so you won’t have to walk.” The Old Village Chief smiled and stood up. Listening to what the three children said about immortals, he just found it funny.
If there were immortals in this world, then everyone would want to become immortal. However, immortals are just legends, and no one has ever seen them…
As soon as the Old Village Chief left, two young boys aged seven or eight with tiger-like faces came up to them and looked at them curiously. “Are there really immortals? We’ve never heard Grandfather tell stories about immortals. What do they look like? Have you ever seen one?”
Hao’er and the other two looked at each other, stood up, and said, “We’re going to take a bath and go to bed.”
That night, the three children lay on a large bed. None of them could sleep, so they kept their eyes open and looked at the dark ceiling. Yue’er tossed and turned, and couldn’t help but sit up and say in a soft voice, ” Big Brother, Brother, why did Grandfather Chief say there are no immortals? Can we still go back to find Father and Mother? Can we still go home?”
Muchen also sat up and said, “There are obviously immortals, but they’ve never seen any.”
Hao’er sat up and said, ” Maybe we’ve arrived in the mortal world. There are no immortals in the mortal world, so they don’t know.”
