VOLUME 1
Chapter 3: Team Battle
Part 7
When she was contacted by Kasumi, Eri was in the midst of doing a quest and had been, coincidentally, near the forest.
Though she made it into the forest quickly, she didn’t get a response from him, probably because he was in the middle of a battle, so it was rather difficult for her to locate him.
When she found Jun, his health had been whittled down all the way to 10%.
On the small road in the dense forest , Jun was fighting with two boar-like monsters.
b.u.mper Boars. They had pretty high damaging power.
If she cast a strong healing spell on Jun at this moment, she would end up getting a lot of enmity. The monsters would surely charge right at her. She would take a lot of damage. But&h.e.l.lip;
(I know!)
As soon as she was close enough to cast spells, without hesitating, Eri cast Maximum Heal. Almost immediately, Jun’s health filled up. That spell, able to even fully heal a heavy warrior, the cla.s.s with the most health, was the white magician’s most powerful spell. However, using that spell increased enmity by a lot.
Monsters prioritized players for targeting like that.
It was such a dangerous spell that using it in fights with raid cla.s.s monsters like the Dread Sphinx was akin to committing suicide.
Just as expected, the two giant boars came charging. Seeing Jun’s surprised face, Eri stuck out her tongue at him.
“You stuuupido. You blockhead. Getting in a situation like this&h.e.l.lip;”
She said it. She said it.
After smiling widely, he squinted and quickly glanced at the icon displayed in the lower right corner.
(Okay, let’s go.)
After getting the big boars’ attention, she jumped.
Eri’s body danced high up in the air. She grabbed onto a tree branch some meters up. After getting a firm grip and turning around halfway, she landed casually on top of the branch.
That didn’t stop the still energized boars. They ran around on the path, looking up at her.
“Hehe. How was it?”
Looking down at Jun from up in the tree, she grinned. Earlier, Eri had cast a jump-strengthening spell in preparation.
“Even if I don’t seem like it, I’m actually pretty good at gymnastics.”
“Hey, don’t scare me like that.”
“It wasn’t all about you. I wanted to try out a loophole in the system.”
The big boars kept on going back and forth.
“Look. The enemies&h.e.l.lip;”
“I know&h.e.l.lip;”
The boars stayed at the tree where Eri had landed.
Jun, standing in front of the tree, prepared his greatsword. He imbued some magic into his sword.
Right after Jun went after one of the b.u.mper Boars, with one slash, the boar was chopped in half.
The remaining one, rendered unable to move, died by Jun’s regular attack combo.
