Ryth smiled awkwardly as he scratched the back of his head. He is not used to getting this kind of grat.i.tude. "Its no problem. I just do what I believe is the right thing."
Fenar nodded. He like how humble Ryth is and decided then, "We will help you with your battle for the position of the Lord. But as you can see, we need to protect the forest first from the monsters. Unless we clear the dungeon and remove the core, these monsters will keep showing up," Fenar said bitterly.
"Hmm…" Ryth said, thinking. "Yes, that is a concern." He then punched his fist to his other palm and said, "And that is why we will help you in clearing the dungeon as well. You can be a.s.sured that we will do whatever it takes to help."
Fenar's eyes widened in surprised. "But… you have already helped us a lot. It would be –"
"No problem. With your permission, some of your warriors can join us in this mission. I am positive that together, we can clear the dungeon," Ryth cut in. He then said, "I believe that you have already tried to clear it, right? What is it that made you to be unable to clear the dungeon?"
Fenar looked at Woodgard, signaling him to explain.
Woodgard sighed. "The monsters inside are extremely strong. As we go deeper into the dungeon, the stronger they are. We only just reached the second floor before we have to retreat. We could not even make it to the stairs that will lead us to the third floor," Woodgard explained.
After examining the battle earlier, from Ryth's deduction, he sees that the average level of combat power of the dark elf tribe was not that bad. To put it on level terms, it could be said that most of them should be around level 30, whereas for Woodgard's level is around 50. It is similar to Hill and Llyod's level. It is no wonder that he is strong.
Ryth nodded, tapping a finger to his chin, as he thought of a plan. "I see…. with Llyod and Hill here, things will get easier. We can clear the dungeon, at least by tomorrow morning." He turned to Fenar and Woodgard and said, "As for those who will be joining in this journey from the dark elf tribe, I will leave it to you, Mr. Fenar and Mr. Woodgard."
Fenar cleared his throat nervously. "Uhm, actually… there is another reason as to why we want to clear that dungeon," he said.
"Another reason?" Ryth c.o.c.ked an eyebrow.
"Yes... in our last attempt to clear the dungeon, one of our commander fell into a trap while trying to save one of his subordinates. Unfortunately, he has been trapped inside while his subordinate managed to escape."
"How long has it been?"
"So, you can't save him because there is too many monsters to defend against?"
"Yes, the attacks are now more frequent lately. The last horde was the biggest one."
Ryth nodded in understanding. "I see… then we need to clear that dungeon immediately." He turned to Hill and Llyod. "Lets have a rest first and prepare for tomorrow's raid." He turned back again to Fenar and Woodgard, "We need at least 10-20 people. I have a feeling that this dungeon is a boss-type dungeon."
Fenar nodded in agreement. "We will prepare everything by tomorrow morning. And we will immediately set out first thing in morning." He turned to Woodgard and said, "Help escort our esteemed guests to the guest house. Make sure to treat them properly."
"Understood." Woodgard nodded and turned his head towards Ryth and his teammates. "Follow me, Mr. Ryth, Mr. Hill, and Mr. Llyod."
After a few minutes of walking, they reached in front of a house, which is almost as big as the Chief's house. It looks quite cozy and has that homey feeling.
Inside the house, the group looked around the house. It has 4 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a dining room.
Llyod looked astounded at the architecture. "Wow, this house is very welcoming. And it is amazing how it is on a tree," Lyyod gawked in amazement.
Speaking of which, the trees in the Tango Forest are about 10 meters in diameter with a height of 40 - 60 meters, hence it is really big. That's why they can built houses above the trees.
"I agree, this will be a new experience for me." Hill added.
"Glad that you like the house, please treat it like your own home. If you need anything, just tell my men outside the house." Woodgard said and slightly bowed his head.
"Okay." Ryth nodded.
-------------------------
Once they have settled down in the house, the three of them had their baths and had eaten their dinner. They were discussing about the plan for tomorrow and how to tackle it.
A couple of hours later, they went on their separate ways to their own room. Ryth went to his and laid down on the bed.
"Daedalus, can't they sense you? I mean, the dark elf people." asked Ryth.
"Yes, I hid my mana. The bandages helped to cover me physically too, so I think they don't know that you possessed a legendary item such as this eye," replied Daedalus.
"Good then. I will change the bandage tomorrow morning, okay?"
"It's alright."
After a pause, Ryth asked, "What do you think about the miasma?"
"According to my knowledge, the miasma is coming from an evil being inside a dungeon. So maybe the boss is miasma related."
"Ah, just as I have suspected, then." Ryth heaved a long breath and said. "Let's rest for today. Tomorrow, we need to wake up early."
---------------------------
At 5 o'clock in the morning, Daedalus woke Ryth up. Ryth did his daily routine, and went to the kitchen to help with the breakfast. Although the dark elf tribe had provide them with chef, but Ryth wanted to cook by himself. So, he had politely declined the offer.
After everything is done, he said to Llyod and Hill. "Lets go."
As they walked outside the house and greeted the guards outside. Ryth asked Daedalus. "Does the inventory has a limit? I haven't check it."
"The inventory has limits. 500 slots is the limit, but you can upgrade it later."
"Eh? I can?"
"Yeah, with grand soul stone, of course. Ku ku ku!"
"Well, finding one is already lucky, so if I have nothing to do with the grand soul stone, I will use it to upgrade the inventory." Replied Ryth. He then paused and continued, "How many slots do I have left now?"
"You still have about 430 slots left, no worries. I will inform you if you are closer to reaching the limit."
"Okay then."
They walked to the entrance of the village where everyone has already gathered there. Ryth approached Fenar who was currently talking to his men.
"Good morning, Mr. Fenar."
"Ah, good morning!" Fenar greeted. He then gestured to the men behind him and said, "These are the men who will be joining you in your journey."
There are 11 people including Woodgard. 5 of them carried one-handed swords on their waists, and the rest has a bow each. Only Woodgard wore 2 daggers, which is strapped on his waist.
Daedalus had already informed Ryth that Woodgard's daggers were made by orichalc.u.m ore. A material for weapons and armors, but still lacking when it's compared to ebony.
"Mr. Woodgard, I have something for you." Ryth took out the daggers from his bag, pretending that it was taken out from the bag. But actually, he only put his hand inside the bag and took it from the inventory.
Woodgard was shocked that he couldn't believe his eyes. This daggers were clearly made by ebony ingots! Ebony ingot is a very rare materials. One could only rely on one's luck to obtain it! He had thought that the armor Llyod wore and their weapons were the only things that they have that which were made by ebony ingots, but turned out that he's wrong.
"How could I accept this..." Woodgard was speechless.
"It's okay. It's for increasing our success rate in clearing that dungeon. No worries." Ryth smiled.
Woodgard had mixed feelings; guilt and excitement. Guilt because he and his tribe have been getting help from these strangers whom they had just met yesterday. And this made him feel ashamed when they have nothing to offer, other than being their support in Ryth's upcoming battle. Excitement because he could not wait to test out the weapons that Ryth had given to him.
From then on, Woodgard swore in his heart that he will repay this debt soon.
"Thank you for this." He bowed to Ryth and his teammates in grat.i.tude.
"Okay, Mr. Fenar. I will be the team leader, is that alright?" Said Ryth.
"Yeah, I think it will be better if you are the one who lead the team." Fenar paused, and continued, "I pray for your safety." He cupped his hands and turned towards his men. "Listen! Everyone should listen to Mr. Myrad's commands! Understood!?"
"Yes, Chief!"
All of them shouted in unison.
"We are off then." Ryth bowed down to Fenar and lead the group out of the village.
After a few minutes of walking, they finally reached near the dungeon.
Hiding behind some of the bushes and trees, they found 5 monsters roaming around outside the dungeon.
"There are around 5 monsters outside the dungeon, how do we do this?" asked Woodgard.
The monsters are around level 20. The same type of monsters that had attacked the village.
"We will kill them all at once." Said Hill.
"Okay, elves, take down one of the monsters. I will take one myself. Llyod, Hill and Woodgard, you three get one each. Lets do this." Ryth said with determination.
