Chapter 190.  From the Other's Perspective 2 (2)

The true demon Leviathan recalled his past.

There were so many true demons, yet not enough useful hunting grounds to support them.

Having become tired of the fierce, endless compet.i.tion, he wandered around every corner of Naraka in search of the new, hidden dungeon which was supposed to have gotten newly updated several tens of years ago.  And in the end, he has come to discover the fire and lightning temple.

He had a tough time finding the temple as it was in an isolated corner location where it had been a while since the true demons had last visited, and also by applying the magic of illusion, it had been camouflaged, yet with his infatuation for a new hunting ground and with some luck, he has finally found the place.

Leviathan laughed refres.h.i.+ngly as he enjoyed the fire and lightning temple where there was no completion.

Although he did not receive additional accomplishments since he wasn't the first one to discover it, yet that was not that important.

That was because for some reason the true demon that had first discovered this place was gone already, so he was able to totally monopolize the hunting ground.

On top of that, the ordinary monsters were rather on the high side in terms of the skill levels such that he had expected to earn large quant.i.ty of accomplishments, and much faster at it than had been in the past.

However, such a dream like time did not last long.

Perhaps, they heard of the rumor from somewhere, or they were probably thinking just like him as it looked like more and more true demons were wandering around the Naraka regions as more of them began to appear at the fire and lightning temple.

Ultimately, now, 50 years later, the situation evolved so that he now shared the dungeon with tens of true demons, and Leviathan, once again, was put into the situation where he had to compete with tiresome true demons in hunting.

'Phew….Sick b.a.s.t.a.r.ds.  Still the location is better than the regular fields…..'

Even then it wasn't satisfactory when the current situation was compared to the time when he had the whole place to himself.

He was also in fierce completion today, and as he came out of the last fight, he headed to the boss room in order to take a rest.

For some reason, boss monsters did not exist in the fire and lightning temple.

The feeling of hollowness was too much as opposed to the antic.i.p.ation when he found nothing after discovering the temple for the first time, and opened the boss room……

He has been hunting the ordinary monsters while waiting for the original true demon, who had found the temple and left, thinking that he might not have been regenerated yet.  However, he hasn't seen any boss monster even after many tens of years.

Ultimately, Leviathan completely gave up on the boss monster, and used this place whenever he needed to rest, and other true demons, too, were using this place for the same purpose.

The temple has become, through a nonverbal agreement between the true demons, a place of rest only, in the absence of any quarrels.

As a result, he opened the door of the boss room with much more relaxed posture, and was about to plop down to the ground in preparation for his rest.

However, he could not do that.

Surprised, Leviathan murmured to himself after finding the boss room which was quite different than what he was used to finding.

“What the heck, there has never been any boss monsters, here?”

“But then how come there are two boss monsters in here?”

Confused, Leviathan stared at the beast, engulfed in flames, and the monster, resembling an ancient G.o.d.

Towards him, the ancient G.o.d gave a heartfelt welcome.

“Welcome!”

“Ahk, What!  The monster can speak!”

Vulcan then gave a courteous explanation to Leviathan who was in shock.

“h.e.l.lo, Leviathan.  I have recently become a boss monster after getting newly updated in 30,000 years, so I am able to talk to true demons.”

“Ah, I see.  The hunting ground has not been updated for a very long time, so, I was thinking maybe the demon G.o.d was going to do something new.”

After hearing Vulcan, Leviathan interpreted the situation as he saw it, and finally nodded his head as if to say that he understood what was going on.

Then picking up the heavy iron mace, he smiled hawkishly.

“Then I get to capture the latest monster that was updated for the first time in 30,000 years?  Haha, this is fantastic!”

Leviathan summoned demon energy from within with hearty laughter.

He did not have any thought, at all, that he could actually lose to those boss monsters.

It was true that the boss monsters were stronger than the ordinary monsters.

Even so, there has never been a situation where the difference between them was so profound that the boss monster could not be compared to the ordinary monsters.

The power was appropriate to the dungeon's level, in the end.

It was similar to, for example, a boss of the Orc dungeon would be at the level of the Orc chief, rather than a level that was of an elder lich or the original dragon.

'No matter how strong you b.a.s.t.a.r.ds are….. If you are like the ordinary monsters which I can easily defeat, there is no reason that I couldn't capture you!  Kk, on top of that that equipment held by that ancient G.o.d looks very useful, too….It looks like I could make a lot of money by selling it at the weapons store.  Today is a very lucky day!'

Leviathan took a fighting posture as he huffed and puffed in excitement.

Vulcan gave an empty smile while looking over Leviathan's psychological profile through the scan ability.

“Haha.”

“What?  You laugh?”

“Well, I thought it is just interesting.”

“What?”

Feeling something despicable in Vulcan's laughter, Leviathan cringed and spoke.

However, Vulcan no longer responded.

“Doori, go inside.”

Kaaang.

Vulcan sent the h.e.l.l hunting dog back in order to get into a more perfect fighting posture.

He executed his skills, one by one, in order.

Pazzzzz.

Whirrrrl.

Boowooong.

Whoooaaaaak!

“…..What?”

Instantly, Leviathan's expression hardened upon seeing Vulcan summon the energies of h.e.l.l king arrival, house of demon G.o.d, thunder G.o.d, and h.e.l.l sword.

However, unable to fully process the situation, he did not vacate the room.

Pointing the depth thunder sword at him, Vulcan spoke.

“Then, should we start?”

Pazzzzzzz.

As soon as he was done speaking, Vulcan used the dragon dash and as if to be leaping through the s.p.a.ce, he got close to Leviathan.

Out of his sword came incredibly powerful flame and lightning.

Kwaaaang!

“What the heck?  A boss monster has appeared.  Kk, I'm so lucky.  Die!”

Kwaaaang!

“Krrrraaahk!”

Philandul, the true demon, was killed by Vulcan.

“Oh, it's a boss monster.  But then why is he here after such a long time?”

Sheeek-sheeek.

“Krrrrruaaahk!”

The true demon Narath was also retreating a few steps when he lost his life by Vulcan's attacks which were beyond his expectation.

Vulcan was able to ascertain very satisfying experiences at each turn, and his level has increased by 3 to 1,387, already.

Vulcan put on a pleased smile as he has been training in the hopes of the true demons to be finding their ways here into the boss room.

'I was initially worried that no one would come, but that was an unnecessary concern.  They said that the location of the temple was compromised, and indeed, quite many of them are finding their way here.'

It was only just a moment ago that Vulcan was worried that no one would come, so he and Doori might have to go outside in person to drum up visitors.

However, he was no longer having such thoughts.

He didn't even need to go out of the temple, let alone, out of the boss room.

As the true demons voluntarily found their way to the inside while he was training on h.e.l.l king's arrival, house of demon G.o.d, volcano explosion and depth thunder sword, he didn't even necessarily had to think about doing something to make things happen.

That was how he took care of the 78 true demons in the past 5 years.

Recently, the number of the true demons that came to visit the boss room has been dwindling, perhaps, because some chaotic rumors were circulating, yet he was nearing the target number.

'Well…If I think that no one will be coming then I could always go outside in person to hunt.  So, should I just go outside and earnestly go for the quest?'

Vulcan hardened his expression a bit.

In fact, as there has been much progress in his skills training, and he was happy with his daily improvements, so he wasn't really doing much in the way of doing things outside of the boss room.

However, about a half a year ago.

That was, he had succeeded in his ability to freely raise the depth thunder sword's energy and executing it, but after he ran into a wall when it came to mastering the ability to contract the battle time, he was losing his interest somewhat.

As a result, rather than just training and trying to ascertain something in this small boss room, he was thinking that, perhaps, it would be better to find a new way by going through the processes of executing the quest and leveling up.

Vulcan was having such thoughts for the past 30 minutes.

Finally, he got up with a resolve as he has decided to go outside of the boss room and actively hunt the true demons.

'I suppose, no need to keep holding on to something that doesn't work, and let's go after leveling up.  By trying it again at a later time, things might actually work out for the better.'

Having organized his thoughts, Vulcan warmed up slowly and prepared to go outside.

However, the time to exit the room has been delayed.

That was because he was sensing two true demons, approaching the boss room.

'Hm…Two of them.  There have never been any true demons as strong as Kaozinta, yet…..two of them could still be a tough challenge.'

Should those b.a.s.t.a.r.ds' levels be over 1,400, or near that level, it was obvious that the battle would become a tough one for Vulcan.

Fortunately, there was not a penalty such as having to hunt true demons or similar to that from the start, even if he was to die in the middle of the quest.  However, the feeling of dying was not something to look forward to, either.

Hence, Vulcan was hoping that the two true demons' levels were ordinary like those who came in the past as he looked towards the door.

'Well, if they are strong b.a.s.t.a.r.ds then that, itself, will become my big experience….but, now that I've decided to go outside, it won't be a good feeling to die from the get go.  What are their levels….'

Thinking of rather embarra.s.sing thoughts, Vulcan raised the sword as he got ready for a battle.

Finally, the door opened, and the eyes of the two demons which entered the room and Vulcan's met.

Having surveyed each others' powers to certain degree, Vulcan prepared to swing his sword as he gave a refres.h.i.+ng smile, while Anomalicaris quickly went into a defensive stance.

And his little brother Anomalocurus pushed his older brother forward, and exited the boss room through the jarred door.

Kwaang!

The door was shut in an instant, and Anomalocaris had to face Vulcan, all by himself.

Filled with anger and despair, he pummeled vulgarities toward his younger brother.

“Anomalocurus!  You, b.a.s.t.a.r.d!”

“You've got a thoughtful brother.”

After looking at Anomalocaris with sorry filled eyes, Vulcan quickly moved to the front of him by using dragon dash, and swung the h.e.l.l sword.

Due to the unexpected turn of events, surprised Anomalocaris quickly summoned the demon energy and was able to block Vulcan's first attack, but since the difference in powers was very high, he sustained a huge damage even with the successful defensive maneuver.

As a result, he wasn't able to block the onslaught of the continuing attacks from Vulcan.

Kwaang!

“Hm.  After getting one more, only 20 will remain.”

Vulcan casually picked up the item, which was dropped by Anomalocaris, into his inventory.

Whistling as a happy person, who was about to go outside, he opened the door of the boss room, and paid attention to Anomalocurus who was breathing roughly in the vicinity.

Then Anamalocurus showed a shocked expression as if he saw a ghost.

Appearing to say that it was impossible to believe such turn of events, he spoke with a shaking voice.

“Uh… How!  How does a boss monster come out of the boss room?”

Like his elder brother, Anomalocurus was overwhelmed by the feeling of melancholy and despair.

From his perspective, he was just murmuring to himself because he did not know that this monster could speak, but Vulcan responded back rather courteously.

“How?”

“Uhk, what!  Monster can speak, too….”

Although he was a true demon with enough power to invade the human world without any problems, he showed the awed and shocked disposition of a boy that was surrounded by beasts.

Looking at him with sadness, Vulcan spoke quietly.

“Because I'm a bug monster.”
