Chapter 31

“Alright, dismiss yourselves . Back to your works . ” After she uttered that simple order, the people who had joined the fun all went back to their original position . And everything went back to well-regulated state . Their executive abilities really were impressive .

I could only sigh with admiration .

“That’s cool . . . however, the style of work of the organization is a bit arbitrary, isn’t it?” If I hadn’t heard the goal of the organization from Princ.i.p.al Nana before I arrived here, I might a.s.sume that I had joined some evil organization .

“Well, the thing we want to achieve is not so easy after all . If we don’t possess the domineering strength, how would we be able to intervene all kinds of strange things? As for the arbitrary style, I do consider our slogan ‘Maintaining the balance of the world’ the most arbitrary words . You can even call us arrogant, ha ha . ” Li Nai laughed with her white teeth exposed . Then she put her hands back in her pockets and continued walking .

Hearing her words, I was totally convinced . Then I nodded and agreed,

“You are right . The power is the basis of everything . ” Strength was always the absolute principle . Only the strong ones had the right to command others . Although it sounded a bit rude, it was actually the common sense .

If one’s power didn’t match his dream, then that dream would only be a fantasy, or even a delusion .

“Ah ha ha~ Basically, those supernatural people who still stand sense would come to an agreement with us or be taken in by us . Some of them would also join our organization . The unreasonable persons are the ones that really trouble us a lot . ”

It turned out that I had joined the organization of the world’s city inspectors!

Then again, why would the organization commit itself to maintain the balance of the world? What’s the point of doing those thankless tasks?

I thought it was an abandoned building at the first glance . It reminded me of that abandoned continuation school in a movie . I didn’t see any signboard here . Moreover, even the oil paint on the surface of the building were peeled off . Somehow I found there might really be some strange things happening here .

“The whole Search Department is located here?”

“No, only our sixth office . Our territory covered the whole abandoned building!”

“So it really is abandoned!” Why couldn’t you lie to me that it was just a disguise!

How was I supposed to have a sense of belonging to the department I had just joined!

“Unlike the other department, the Search Department doesn’t have a headquarter . Each office of our department was situated in the corners of the Black Street . It is convenient for our searching job to carry out . Also, when our organization is attacked, the members of the Search Department would be evacuated the first . ”

Yu Hui who cared about the evacuation issues asked cautiously, “The Search Department would be evacuated the first? You mean, when dangerous situations occur, the members of the Search Department could escape right away, right?”

“Yeah, we are like the ‘eyes’ of the organization because we can obtain necessary information . We are also the storage of the organization since all the reports which are gained from the investigation will be stored in our place . ”

“Like the important intelligence department . . . ” Come to think about it, the Search Department was actually the most important department of the organization .

“Well, let’s stop standing here and go inside first . ” After we entered into the abandoned building, I only saw an empty first floor . The only thing here were the stairs and elevator in the corner as well as the pillars which are used to support the building . It was almost like the construction job of this building had stopped in the half . So I couldn’t help being suspicious of whether this building had reached the construction’s standard .

“Most of the days we would stay in the eleventh and twelfth floor . As for the other floors . . . Eh, I do want to show you around, but some of the floors are too dangerous for you to get in . If you break into one of the floors recklessly, you might get yourself killed!”

“Dangerous?!” Why would a place that could threaten my life exist in our territory?

“Well, there are some dangerous objects being stored in some of the floors . So you cannot get in casually . As for other floors, you cannot go there because of some special incidents . . . We have lent the sixth and seventh floors to the Research Department before . However, those geeks of the Research Department have failed in one of their weird projects . After that, there was a Mobius connection between the sixth and the seventh floor . I heard no one was able to get out once entered into those two floors . ”

“What the h.e.l.l is the Mobius connection . . . ”

“I don’t quite understand that either . But those geeks said that the stairs to go down to the fifth floor has been connected to the stairs to go up to the eighth floor . ”

What kind of research would create something like that?

“Also, sometimes when the b.u.t.ton of the thirteenth floor shows in the elevator, do not push that b.u.t.ton out of curiosity! Last time, I went to the thirteenth floor to have a check being driven by curiosity, and . . . ”

I took back my words of describing this building as a place where the strange things would happen . Now I acknowledged that this was the place for the party of the weirdness!

“Master Jun Cheng, I suggest that we apply to change our department right away . Personally, I think the Ch.o.r.es Department and the Human Resource Department are both safer than this department . ”

“What a coincidence . I was thinking about the same thing as you, Yu Hui . ”

“Stop, stop, stop! Don’t leave us! If the two of you leave, I will be the most junior staff here!” Hearing that we were about to leave, Li Nai objected us right away . She attached her body to us like a sticky candy and advised us,

“Come on, since we are already here, you should at least have a look at this place~ As long as we don’t go to the other floors, nothing would happen . ” At last, Yu Hui and I were still pushed into the elevator by her . Then Li Nai pushed the b.u.t.ton of the twelfth floor .

Then, I found a letter of notice on the side of the elevator, which gave us the information about which floors we shouldn’t go . And it was written in the huge red font that the b.u.t.ton of the thirteenth floor was forbidden to be pushed .

What on earth was on the thirteenth floor . . . Luckily, I was not that curious . Anyone with a strong curiosity would definitely go through all the floors .

And I doubt if that person would be able to come out alive .
