Chapter 1

What’s a maid, when asked that, won’t most people answer ‘a young female servant’ or ‘a servant that does things like housework’.
I think so to. I really think so too.
……that’s why, I can’t accept it.
Why is a [Maid] mixed in with [Swordsman] and [Magician].
And, why, am I a [Maid]!

Now then.
I am just an ordinary female high school student with nothing special. If anything, I think I was a slightly [strange person]. It’s something of a ‘even though I think that, so what’ level. Probably.
I’m kind of okay in studies. Also kind of okay in sports. Also kind of okay in appearance. My height is a few millimeters taller than the average, my weight matches that and is somewhere there.
Overall that kind of……ordinary person with nothing unusual.

Leaving aside my lack of anything unusual, although there was nothing unusual about myself, unfortunately, it seems my school and the people around me were quite unusual.
Putting it simply, along with the whole school, I was thrown into another world.
……there’s no other way to put it.
‘It seems’, would be because I have yet to discover all the cla.s.srooms and students. ……yes. This school, very annoyingly, was thrown into another world with [cla.s.srooms scattered in different locations]!

I don’t know how this happened.
There was a light, a tremor, and when I woke up, I was collapsed wearing cla.s.sical maid uniform! That’s it!
What am I suppose to understand from this! It’s impossible for me!

And so, since I was kind of in the chemistry club and the school was thrown to another world after lessons, I was in the chemistry lab.
‘Okay, let’s do today’s experiment’, the moment I thought that, there was that luminescence phenomenon and an earthquake.
If it’s an earthquake, I need to secure an escape route for now! With that thought I opened the door and instead of the corridor there was a forest.

I couldn’t help doing a double take! After all, it’s a forest! It’s a forest, ma’am!
I pulled open the curtains in a panic and outside really was a forest. Very forest. Extremely forest.
For some reason, I tried opening the door again but, forest.
I tried looking outside the window again, forest as expected.
There were calls of birds from outside that were clearly not crows or sparrows……or more like, if there were monstrous birds, this would be the call they would make……
For now, I gently closed the door.

And the problem is maid! maid! Why! am I! Wearing something incomprehensible like a maid uniform! Wasn’t I wearing a lab coat on top of my uniform just now!
Thinking that, I looked around the lab, but the uniform I should have been wearing was nowhere. Why!
But, there was something I was more glad to find than my uniform.
My club members.
The other club members were, kind of as expected, laid out on the ground.
They were lying on the ground, but there was no one in a ridiculous outfit like maid uniform.
No, their outfit was still quite ridiculous though.

At that time, there were 4 people in the lab including me.
Me, the president Suzumoto, the vice-president Hagasaki-kun, and the one who often causes explosions, Shachi.
They were each wearing fantasy type of armour with a cape, or magician type of robes, or extravagant white robes with embroidery.
They were wearing those kind of things, but not a maid uniform. I will say it once more. Not a maid uniform.
Not a maid uniform!
Well, it would have been pretty bad if they were wearing maid uniforms. Mhm, the members other than me, are all guys after all. Who would gain from that.

“Wake up! Forest! It’s a forest! Ora!”
For now I shook Suzumoto who was close by and woke him up.
“Nna……hm?……huh, oi, Maito, what’s that outfit?”
“Like I know! I want to ask! When I woke up I was wearing a maid uniform! Even you’re in caped armour! Such fantasy!”
It seems he finally noticed after I said it, he looked at his own outfit and was surprised. d.a.m.n it, if this had to happen I wanted caped armour too.
Ah, I forgot, I am Maito. No need my first name right? Not like anyone will call me that.

“Take a look outside the door. I’ll wake up Hagasaki-kun and President.”
Ah, President is Shachi’s nickname. [Shachi], so [Shachou](=president, company-type not country).
For some reason, this nickname fit and was established.
By now there is hardly anyone who calls Shachi Shachi.
Even the teachers called him President. Sometimes, there are strange phrases like ‘President, hand in your homework’ flying around.

Anyway. For now after waking up the remaining two and confirming our current location is [THE forest], the first thing I was curious about was the safety of the remaining club members.
There are 9 members in the chemistry club including me. Since there are only 4 people here, I am very concerned the whereabouts of the other members.
I think the remaining members were probably either checking things in the information room, walking in the corridor or went to the toilet.
The problem is, are those 5 in this [THE forest]? Or were we, the ones in the [Chemistry Lab] the only ones thrown here?
I’m curious about it, but even if I’m concerned, I won’t get more information so I can’t make a decision.
Actually before that, since we were having our club activities, I am starting to get hungry. And there is only so much food in the chemistry lab.

And so, to gather information and food, it was decided to explore [THE forest].

Let’s explain. Why am I being left behind.

1. Wearing the long skirt of a maid uniform, you cannot move quickly when there’s a need to.

Since I’m a girl, my female hormones, estrogen hinders the strengthening of muscles, so no matter what, my physical capabilities are inferior to boys.
I have confidence in my instantaneous acceleration from using my body like a spring, but regrettably, I would fall behind in stamina, maximum speed and physical strength no— matter what.
Even that langly beansprout hagasaki-kun surpa.s.ses me in athletic ability. If we arm wrestled, I would lose. If thumb wrestled, I would lose by reach. Incomprehensible.

……Suzumoto is wearing [Armour]. And considering the b.e.s.t.i.a.l cries, it’s hard to say that outside is safe.
Accordingly, the decision was that I am house-sitting.

Before they departed, we discussed bringing something that would at least serve as a weapon.
Since this is the chemistry lab, there is a good selection of chemicals, but since this is at the level of reconnaissance, the decision was to conserve them.
We don’t know what there will be in the future after all.

And so we opened the cleaning cabinet.
There should have been a couple brooms with long handles in the cleaning cabinet, so if we removed the bolt securing the broom head, it would become just a long stick. It should work for throwing or hitting.
……is what we thought.
We thought that but.
How could this be, in the cleaning cabinet, there were no brooms!
Instead there were 4 pendants that were like dog tags. And there there was……a narrow sword and two staffs that looked to have high offensive capability……and a feather duster that doesn’t look to have a shred of offensive capability.

“What could this be?”
For now, Suzumoto focused on the dog tags. You’re kind. I saw you avert your eyes from the feather duster.
The dog tags were two plates of 4cm×7.5cm connected by a chain. It is iron-coloured. But it didn’t really feel like iron. It’s not cold. Or more like it doesn’t feel like metal.
What is this made of, I’m curious about the material.
“There are names written. This is mine, Hagasaki-kun, President, Maito too. Here.”
Each of our names were writting on the dog tags. And things other from our names.
Name, gender, blood type. And [Profession]. The bottom half is empty for some reason. The reverse side is also empty. The second piece is also empty. What is this.
“……my profession seems to be [Swordsman].”
“I’m a [Magician].”
“I am a [Scholar]……Maito-san, how about you?”
Hmhm. What am I. ……I can imagine though!
“……[Profession: Maid]”
Everyone’s gazes are painful. Please, don’t looks so apologetic. That hurts all the more……

Now then, the remaining thing is weapons.
“Sword……is for me right?”
Equip– it –now? With something like that, Suzumoto quickly equipped the sword.
He was slightly awkward, but it’s fine, I don’t mind.
“The staffs going to me and President is fine right?”
“No problem for me.”
Hagasaki and President each equipped a staff with a blue stone and an amber stone respectively, also as expected, awkwardly.
“So, I am this, d.a.m.n i—t!”
And so I equipped the feather duster. Isn’t its offensive capability lower than a twig? A miraculous attack power of 0 (estimation).
I knew it though! Why a maid!
Why is there a maid mixed in with a swordsman and magician! I can’t accept i—t!

New series. Full name is ‘Maid will go on, through thick an thin’. I swear another maid one is a coincidence. It’s a coincidence. I’m really going to regret starting on this before finis.h.i.+ng up editting L.E.M. but that’s for future me to deal with~

Fixed the s.p.a.cing thing for this series and some extra things in the TOC about what I’m going to be doing for this series in terms of its side stories (chronological thingies)

Also to point out since they appear a lot in this series (which is why I’m including them), — in like d.a.m.n i—t would be just dragging out the sound, common thing in j.a.panese words, but also used by some authors for how some characters speak, like here. Mhm would be un, effectively same thing. Changing it from un to mhm is simple because a large majority of people would probably read un like aunt without the t. Meaning(usage?) is the same and just as vague as mhm, usually confirmatory.
