Chapter 8 – You’re Looking To Die
Translator: Mr Voltaire
Editor: Master Shadow
Seeing the smile on the youth’s face, Yan s.h.i.+ Fei’s heart rapidly thumped and she curled up her body.
Kacha!
At this moment, the door was opened and a young woman walked in.
“Big sis, what are you and big brother Xiao Yun doing?” Yan s.h.i.+ Yan asked as she walked in. Her nose wrinkled in dissatisfaction as she looked at the two of them sitting on the bed. “Hmph, they always ask me to go outside; they’re definitely hiding something from me.”
From how disorderly her big sister’s hair looked, it indeed seemed that something had happened.
But what could have happened between this youth and beautiful young woman?
Seeing the light muslin dress on her big sister’s body, which was so thin that her white skin could be seen, Yan s.h.i.+ Yan’s cheeks puffed out in jealousy, as if she had witnessed a scene of adultery.
“What’s with this girl’s expression?” Xiao Yun shook his hands as he looked at Yan s.h.i.+ Yan and hopped off the bed.
“No idea,” Yan s.h.i.+ Fei said as she gave an awkward smile.
“Hmph.” Yan s.h.i.+ Yan coldly harrumphed and pouted, looking quite unhappy.
Xiao Yun didn’t pay her any attention and stood to the side after putting on his shoes.
After a while, Yan s.h.i.+ Fei put on her clothes and walked out in a jade-green dress.
“Big sis, are you feeling better?” When she noticed her big sister’s rosy complexion, Yan s.h.i.+ Yan’s dissatisfaction mostly disappeared.
“Mm.” Yan s.h.i.+ Fei nodded, then looked at the youth next to her as her eyes narrowed. “Little brother Xiao Yun, the speed at which you extracted the poison this time was much faster. Has your Martial Spirit become stronger?”
“It just so happened to rank up a few days ago,” Xiao Yun replied.
“Oh.” Yan s.h.i.+ Fei raised her eyebrows as she smiled and continued, “Then congratulations. It seems that it will continue to become more amazing in future.”
“I hope so.”
This young woman was one of the only people who had not become cold towards him due to him losing his talent.
Otherwise, why would she try and obtain that Ginseng for him and his little sister?
“This is some Fire element medicine that I’ve asked some people to collect. Please give it to little sister Ling’Er.” Yan s.h.i.+ Fei took out a brocaded parcel and handed it to Xiao Yun. Inside it were a few Fire Essence Fruits and some Fire Essence Gra.s.s.
“Thank you, big sister s.h.i.+ Fei.” Xiao Yun gratefully accepted the parcel.
“Boy, why are you always being so courteous with big sister?” Yan s.h.i.+ Fei shook her head and swept back a few strands of hair behind her ears, looking absolutely stunning. Xiao Yun couldn’t help but steal a few extra glances at her.
“Why are you always staring at my big sister?” Yan s.h.i.+ Yan asked unhappily.
“Because big sister s.h.i.+ Yan’s pretty!” Xiao Yun rolled his eyes, feeling that Yan s.h.i.+ Yan was killing the mood.
“Am I not pretty then?” Yan s.h.i.+ Yan pouted.
“You? You’re pretty, but you don’t have the charm of a woman.”
Both of the sisters were extremely beautiful and had looks that could bring disaster to a city.
However, compared to Yan s.h.i.+ Fei, Yan s.h.i.+ Yan still looked a bit childish, and didn’t give off the same enchanting aura that Yan s.h.i.+ Fei did.
“This guy doesn’t have good taste,” Yan s.h.i.+ Yan muttered to herself.
“Haha, is our Yan’Er feeling jealous?” Yan s.h.i.+ Fei laughed. Naturally, she could tell what her little sister was thinking.
“No way.” Yan s.h.i.+ Yan’s head hung lower as she said with a red face, “Who would feel jealous?”
Yan s.h.i.+ Fei shook her head, but didn’t push her any further and started chatting with Xiao Yun.
“If big sister s.h.i.+ Yan needs her poison extracted again, make sure to let me know.” After they had talked for a while, Xiao Yun felt that it was time to leave.
His Martial Spirit had absorbed large amounts of poison and he needed to quickly neutralise it.
“Mm.”
The two sisters understood and didn’t try to keep Xiao Yun any longer.
Xiao Yun took the parcel that Yan s.h.i.+ Fei had given him and left the Yan family’s residence.
Over the years, the Xiao family had stopped giving Fire element medicines to Xiao Ling’Er, and Yan s.h.i.+ Fei had asked the Yan family to help. Back then, she had even been poisoned because she had personally tried to help.
The Xiao family’s residence wasn’t very far from the Yan family’s residence. However, there were quite a few bustling streets in between.
When Xiao Yun came out from the Yan family’s residence, it was already past noon, and there were many people walking around, creating a raucous atmosphere.
“Hoh, isn’t this our Violet Cloud County’s genius, Xiao Yun?” Just as Xiao Yun was about to enter his home to neutralise the poison, a sharp voice pierced through the air, causing him to stop in his tracks and look over.
Xiao Yun saw a few youths walking towards him from afar, looking all high and mighty.
One of them was sneering at Xiao Yun, his eyes full of ridicule.
“The Fang family’s people!” Xiao Yun couldn’t help but frown.
The Fang family was one of the Four Great Families of the Violet Cloud County. Their ancestor, like the Xiao family’s ancestor, possessed a Martial Spirit and had a deep foundation.
The person who stood at the front was called Fang Wei, and was a descendant of the Fang family’s main house. However, the person who spoke was a youth called Fang Kun, who was a descendant of a branch house. He was the type of lackey who spoke for their master, and liked to bully others despite not having much power.
Xiao Yun glanced at the Fang family’s youths and ignored them, continuing on his way.
It had been a few hours since he had gone to the Yan family’s residence to extract Yan s.h.i.+ Fei’s poison. If he didn’t quickly neutralise the poison and was emotionally affected, the poison could spread to his body, causing problems in his meridians.
“Big brother Wei, this guy dares to ignore us?” Seeing Xiao Yun leave, the Fang family’s youths became enraged.
“Do you want to teach him a lesson?” Fang Kun asked.
“Sure.” Fang Wei nodded his approval.
Having received approval from young master Fang, Fang Kun’s confidence was bolstered. He domineeringly walked out like a crab, and blocked the path in front of Xiao Yun.
“Hoh, where’s our genius Xiao Yun going?”
“Move aside. I don’t have time to waste on you.” Xiao Yun’s eyes flashed with fury as he chided the monkey-like Fang Kun.
“Heh, you’ve developed a temper, eh?” Fang Kun’s gaze became fierce as he coldly laughed, “You’re just a piece of trash now. Do you still think you’re that genius from before? We tried giving you face, but you refused it. If your granddaddy Kun isn’t happy, I might just break your dog legs.”
“You want to break my legs?” Xiao Yun stopped walking as his eyes flashed with an icy glint.
The Xiao family and Fang family were both part of the Violet Cloud County’s Four Great Families. Ten or so years ago, the Xiao family had been the most superior out of the Four Great Families.
As the grandson of the Xiao family’s patriarch, Xiao Yun had an incredibly n.o.ble background. And yet, a descendant of the Fang family’s branch house had dared to say such a thing to him. Xiao Yun’s eyes immediately burned with flames of fury.
However, Fang Kun ignored Xiao Yun’s expression as his gaze fell on the parcel that Xiao Yun was holding.
“Such dense Fire Essence Qi; there are definitely Fire Essence Fruits inside,” Fang Kun said as he grinned. “Haha, those are probably for your little sister, who’s going to die soon anyways, right? Since she doesn’t have long to live anyways, I’ll go sell them and buy some wine.”
As he spoke, his hand shot out, trying to grab the parcel.
Behind him, the other youths from the Fang family slowly walked over as they smiled in ridicule.
“You can insult me if you want, but don’t blame me for being merciless if you insult my little sister!” Seeing how daring Fang Kun was in mocking his little sister and wanting to steal the medicines, Xiao Yun’s eyes turned vicious as his aura became sharp as a sword. In that instant, he seemed like a deathG.o.d within a battlefield of Asuras.
Over the years when his cultivation had stopped progressing, countless people had treated him coldly and mocked him. In response, he silently endured it all.
This was because he believed that one day, he would be able to soar again.
However, he would never allow anyone to speak ill of his sister or to make her suffer – even if it was insulting her!
Dragons had reverse scales that, if touched, would result in immediate death for the offender. Xiao Yun’s ‘reverse scales’ were was little sister.
Xiao Yun’s palm moved, transforming into a knife-hand strike, and pierced towards Fang Kun’s wrist.
“He dares to attack?” Fang Kun felt slightly shocked, then grinned.
He was at the Seventh Layer of Body Tempering – why would he fear Xiao Yun?
Everyone in the Violet Cloud County knew that Xiao Yun’s cultivation hadn’t progressed at all over the past 8 years!
Just as Fang Kun grinned, his pupils contracted. Xiao Yun’s knife-hand strike was incredibly fast and even brought about the sound of the air being torn. It sliced towards his wrist in just an instant, fast as lightning, making it impossible for him to react in time.
“So fast!” Fang Kun was dumbfounded and he grimaced as a heartwrenching pain spread throughout his wrist.
“Arghhh!!”
Fang Kun let out a cry of shock and pain as his wrist fell, the bones almost broken.
The sudden scream caused a bit of a disturbance in the bustling street and countless pairs of eyes looked over in surprise. When everyone saw what the commotion was about, their jaws dropped.
“Xiao Yun hurt Fang Kun?”
“Fang Kun must have been too careless,” one of the Fang family’s youths said while shaking his head.
“I’ll kill you!” Fang Kun had become completely enraged. His palms became claws as he viciously attacked Xiao Yun. The sounds of the air being torn once again sounded out – those claws were sharp enough to crack even the toughest of rocks.
Seeing Fang Kun attack with his full strength, the Fang family’s people all held their breath. Fang Kun was probably trying to redeem himself from what had happened just then.
The bystanders all watched on in antic.i.p.ation, wanting to know what would happen.
Fang Kun’s attack was quite powerful and was extremely fast. Regardless if it was a matter of strength or reaction speed, someone at the Sixth Layer of Body Tempering simply couldn’t contend with someone at the Seventh Layer of Body Tempering. If nothing went amiss, it would be incredibly difficult for Xiao Yun to dodge this attack.
However, Xiao Yun’s eyes flashed as he took a step forwards. His right hand drew an arc in the air as he guided the other youth’s hand, dissipating the claw-hand strike. Xiao Yun’s fingers then gripped around Fang Kun’s wrist, making it impossible for him to move.
“That’s the Xiao family’s Dragon Capturing Claws!”
“Who would have thought that a trash like Xiao Yun would have practiced it to such perfection?” The onlookers were all shocked.
It seemed that this youth had spent quite a lot of time training!
Seeing that his wrist had been gripped, Fang Kun was completely flabbergasted. However, he quickly calmed himself down as a cold smile appeared on his face. “You’re merely at the Sixth Layer of Body Tempering and yet you want to restrain my heart and meridians? Aren’t you afraid my power will shatter your hand?”
Fang Wei and the others all looked at Xiao Yun with a cold and sinister expression.
No matter how well lower-ranked cultivators could use Martial Skills, what was the point if they didn’t have sufficient strength?
Trash would still be tras.h.!.+
