Chapter 1679: The Spirit Blacksmith

Translator: Exodus Tales Editor: Exodus Tales

“I don’t know why you freed him, but we have to tell you something. My master…he’s not really one to speak,” Highlord Demitrian warned the adventurers.

“The Wind Prince right? We know,” Azure Sea Breeze dismissed the warning with a wave of his weapon in his hand, “Actually we’re not really into talking much either.”

“Good, good. If you’re really able to defeat him, maybe I can gain freedom too. This cursed land is too barren. I just wanted to enslave a more powerful elemental lifeform. I never thought I’d have chosen the legendary wind prince. Even if he’s already heavily weakened now, I still wouldn’t be able to deal with him,” Highlord Demitrian lamented with sad tears.

“Mate, I think you can help alongside us,” Azure Sea Breeze invited.

“My magic’s only strong enough to let him out, the rest will be up to you, you’ve got so many people…” the warlock replied, sounding willing but unable to help.

On top of the simple Summon Circle, the materials that Azure Sea Breeze provided were placed – he provided two sets of materials. One was materials for making weapons, and the other was for this Summon Circle. The blessing of the Thunderfury Windseeker made the sword powerful, not simply because of the sword itself. The sword blessed by the Thunderfury Windseeker needed to seal a powerful wind element before it became the best quality it could be. Otherwise, it was just an ordinary sword.

“Who dares to go against the will of the wild elements!” The monster that called out was extremely scary. He seemed to have a relatively blurry top half, while his bottom half was a cl.u.s.ter of whirlwinds that didn’t stop stirring wildly. Opening his two arms revealed wind elements that continued to congregate. As soon as he came out, it looked like he was one who had a really bad temper.

A wind prince like this couldn’t win anyone’s sympathies.

“He’s just a d.a.m.ned spirit, but he’s full of brutality. You better be careful,” Highlord Demitrian said as he weakly lay on the ground, s.h.i.+fting slowly towards the outskirts.

“You lowly thing, you actually betrayed me!” a dagger of wind whistled at Highlord Demitrian’s head. The feeble warlord could only stare at the dagger of wind cutting into his head. This was a battle between NPCs, and it didn’t follow the rules of damage between players at all. Under normal circ.u.mstances, this dagger of wind would be able to cut off Highlord Demitrian’s head and it’d fall off, not matter how high his HP was.

“Bang!”

A figure appeared in front of Highlord Demitrian, blocking his way. The dagger of wind lashed on this figure, and it sent him flying straight away. In the end, both of them were out of the scene.

The figure was none other than Lu Li. This dagger of wind which should have been able to One Shot him, but it didn’t do any damage to him, because he was able to use Gale Steps. Being sent flying was real, and it was also true that he had full health, but Highlord Demitrian did lose a bit of health from being hit by Lu Li.

Highlord Demitrian couldn’t die. If he died, then who would get the sword blessed by Thunderfury Windseeker.

When this quest first started, some people didn’t protect Highlord Demitrian well. The result was the NPC’s death, and after he died, even if they killed Prince Thunderaan, there was no way for them to continue the quest. Another NPC would sp.a.w.n after they died. However, the new NPC would break the agreement, refusing to acknowledge the materials given before. The players could do nothing but to collect the materials again.

Collecting the materials for a wind sword would need nothing less than all the elite members of a club to do all they could, and to get two sets of equipment was practically a life mission. Lu Li didn’t want Azure Sea Breeze to have to pay his own ransom. Prince Thunderaan didn’t have any more chances to hurt Highlord Demitrian, because Azure Sea Breeze had already pulled his aggro.

A Boss more intelligent would still have to follow the system’s rules, and at this moment Prince Thunderaan was just a savage ghost. He angrily dropped down his wind-magic-type dagger of wind in torrents, but it was blocked by Azure Sea Breeze with a big s.h.i.+eld. It wasn’t that he didn’t do damage, but it was because there was a whole heap of healers standing behind Azure Sea Breeze.

As long as there was enough defense and HP, this group was unbeatable.

Prince Thunderaan didn’t have many skills. The elegant demeanor by which he attacked Ragnaros with back then was effectively all he had. It’s said that most of his strength had been sealed up in those two pieces of magic equipment, and the rest was pretty much completely sucked up by Ragnaros. So, if nothing went horribly wrong, there wasn’t a big chance that Azure Sea Breeze could fail this quest. Unless someone in the group was being troublesome.

When normal people did this quest, they needed to call friends or hire some mercenaries to protect them. Azure Sea Breeze had no need to do this. People from the three guild alliance were helping here, and they didn’t have to be asked to help. In a bit more than ten minutes, Prince Thunderaan’s health reached zero. His final berserk was of no use, but he wasn’t completely dead yet. Finally, he changed into pure wind energy that was collected up by Highlord Demitirian.

“Alright, a great success! I guess I’m free now. Haha!” Highlord Demitirian cheered happily.

Lu Li was irked though. You’re happy for nothing, as a quest NPC, you’re stuck in an endless cycle.

“You said you would make this stuff into a weapon.” Before Azure Sea Breeze even put down his weapons, he was filled with suspicion, looking at Demitirian, an evil warlord. The original reason this guy came to Silithus’ Crystal Valley was to enslave wind elements, and now the strongest wind element was in his hands.

As soon as the Highlord went back on his promise, the fl.u.s.tered and exasperated Azure Sea Breeze decided firmly that it was going to be a battle to the death with him.

“Don’t worry. Right now, I hate wind elements the most. They’re nightmares, I don’t ever want to see wind elements ever again. I can make the weapon for you now. Come along child,” Highlord Demitrian rea.s.sured, hobbling to the cave where he lived.

Since he was enslaved by the wind elements, he could never leave Crystal Valley again. This place had become his home.

It was very rare for a warlock to be a blacksmith. Demitrian probably wasn’t an ordinary blacksmith. So Lu Li was actually even more interested in Highlord Demitrian’s blacksmithing than the wind sword.

“I’m also a blacksmith. Maybe I can help?” Lu Li asked, taking out his forging hammer!

This thing was useless for helping the blacksmith master make the magic weapon. Demitrian saw it and entered into deep thought, before sighing and saying, “I haven’t seen this hammer for many years. Those who used it are pretty much all gone now.”

“I inherited this hammer, hoping it can be used and brought back to its former glory,” Lu Li said humbly.

“Alright then, follow me then.” Highlord Demitrian was actually very advanced in years. He had depleted his magic today, so his steps were a bit wobbly. Lu Li and Azure Sea Breeze supported him on both sides as they walked up the steps.

“My method of blacksmithing is different to what’s usually done. It’s been pa.s.sed on in our trade called the Casting Spirit,” Demitrian said, evidently very satisfied with these two guys’ performance.
