Shao Zi is recently convinced that day-by-day she is the only almighty Flower Demon—move about from the hall and down below to the kitchen, yet also takes care of the female ghost.
That ghost named Yun Chang still lives in Tian (Heaven) room like before. Shao Zi cannot bear to drive her away. Anyway, this inn does not have anyone living in it. Oh no, when Shao Zi finished settling things for Yun Chang, she was reminded of that stupid Scholar. With his body living under the same roof with the female ghost for a few days, his yang energy should be weak by now. Shao Zi thought for a long while, and suddenly realizes it: has to help nourish Scholar’s yang energy!
Morning of the next day.
Scholar squints at the soup on the table, and uses a large spoon to stir stir. Within the gigantic disorderly bowl [he] cannot differentiate the mess of herbs and unidentified meat, and found it hard to say, “This is…”
Shao Zi sternly said, “A (herbal) tonic to dispenses all the bad ailments. Your health is too weak. Your body will fly if the wind blows. Thus I’ve decided to nourish well your health.”
“Oh…” With something on mind Scholar mused loudly, “But it’s early in the morning to drink a tonic so much like this… it’s a bit too much.”
Shao Zi scooped him a full bowl, “This is your portion. If it’s not enough, there’s more in the pot over there.”
“…”
Seeing him drink that entire bowl, Shao Zi felt content and took the dishes to wash. Every day drinks three bowls, he’ll be fine even if Yun Chang lives for two weeks.
Scholar saw her go down the kitchen and touched his belly. The smell of herbs from the belly shot straight to his nose, and his spirit grieves, “Will not die from nourishment?”
At noon Shao Zi behind the yard looks at the inn’s roof. The demon energy clouds that Yun Chang conjured up did not dissipate. But the priest still did not come. She jumped onto the wall, and patted the green ivy, “Pa Pa, remember to tell your brothers to notice the intersections around town. Notify me if a priest came.”
“Yes sir! Boss.”
Cypress ge shook his head, and the leaves rapidly vibrates, “Boss, that Scholar came again.”
Shao Zi lightly snorted, and saw Scholar slowly walks in.
Scholar saw her, and recalled something, “Lady Shao Zi, just in time, let’s water the plants together.”
Shao Zi endured the impulse to kick him into the well, and strongly laughs, “Well in fact, these flowers and plants should not be watered at noon. Otherwise they will be burnt to death.”
The bucket fell into the water loudly, and a sound range in the well. Scholar shook the rope, “My family who garden would water the plants at noon. Lady Shao Zi may have heard, all things have souls. Take advantage of when sun is the brightest, drink plenty of water, and naturally will have life [be spirited]. ”
“But, it’s only flowers and plants.”
Scholar carries the water up, felt that it’s still too heavy, and sprinkles some out. He quickly walked over to the flowerbeds, and draw up a scoop of water, “All things have souls, all things have souls ah.”
“…”
Reality has proven that the demon and people cannot connect with each other…
Cras.h.i.+ng ~ Shao Zi inertly watches as Rhododendron’s and Xin niang’s (magnolia) faces splashed by water, and then see them hold each other and weep. Scholar muttered, “Seems like something is missing.”
Shao Zi swallowed, quietly waved her hand toward Rhododendron, and Rhododendron clearly understands. Taking advantage of when Scholar bent to scoop water, she immediately s.h.i.+fted her position to that of Shao Zi’s, and cover a little of that s.p.a.ce.
In the evening Shao Zi scooped a pot of water, and soak her feet in the courtyard. The well water is cold as ice. Facing the sunset breeze and feeling incomparably pleased, she said with emotion, “This is the life ah…”
Xin niang poked her, “Boss, how are you going the solve [the situation of] the female ghost in Tian room?”
Shao Zi immersed in her feet into the coolness, and slowly said, “Yun Chang has already said that the (daoist) priest has half his soul taken away by an evil ghost/spirit. Finding the evil ghost will do.”
Cypress ge asked, “Boss, we have always mind our own business from the ghosts. Why must we intervene in this matter?”
“Yun Chang does not leave. I do not have the heart to kick her out. But this has cause no one to dare live in Tong Fu inn.” Shao Zi shook her fists, “Thus we must protect gramp’s inn properly.”
“Where do we find that evil ghost?”
Shao Zi laughed haha, “No need to hurry. Three immortal souls and seven mortal souls miss a portion. What ghost took is useless. As long as the priest comes here, that evil ghost will come as well. When it’s time, we will capture it like turtles in cages and beat it in one match. We force the ghost to hand over the soul. ”
Demons suddenly heard someone coming in and within a slip, returned to original forms.
Scholar’s voice came quietly in, “Shao Zi, Shao Zi.” Her probe into the yard, saw her, approached and said, “I am going out and will come back at night. Look after the house/inn well.”
Shao Zi conscientiously nodded, “Yes, will certainly look after house/inn properly.”
Hearing the sound of water, Scholar looked down at the ground, and saw one pair of white feet shaking in clear water basin. The water reflected the red orange sunset and causes the pair of feet to be whiter and tinged with pink. The person in white sat in a chair and move about. Looking slanted could see an attractive nose, and when head slightly slanted, a faint red stained the lips.
“Innkeeper…”
Scholar did not look there anymore. He turned to look at her, “En?”
Shao Zi’s mouth twitched, and pointed at nose, “Your … nose is bleeding.”
“…” Scholar halted. He uses his hands to cover, s.h.i.+fted head upward, and sorrowfully said, “Must be too much nourishment.”
Scholar goes out.
Shao Zi sits on the inn’s roof underneath the moonlight. After drinking enough water, she again absorbs the essences of heaven and earth. It’s a good time to practice. Energy (qi) collectively absorbs down to thehypogastrium region, cleanses the abdominal, and embraces the quiet evening breeze. Going back and forth for an hour, [she] feel refreshed, and now have no problem carrying a tiger.
She was planning to return to the flowerbeds, yet little gra.s.s suddenly jumped up, and almost covered the entire roof instantly while twittering, “Boss, Boss, There is an unfamiliar priest in town, and he’s in the east.”
Shao Zi’s gripped her palms tightly, and her eyes shone, “Great. You go back, I’ll go take a look.”
Finished speaking, she leaned over and jumped from the eaves. She flew east.
Seeing far on streets where no one would walk in the middle of the night, there is a young man wearing navy blue robes. On his side there is constantly little ghosts running across and judging him back and forth. Yet, no one dares to come near. Shao Zi landed on the ground, and ghosts scatter out.
Shao Zi gazes at the Daoist priest in the front, his skills cannot subdue her. Does not know whether it’s due to losing half of his soul, his gaze is lifeless. His face expresses nothing, like a tall handsome marionette. But his pace was constant, not rash. After looking for a while, he suddenly stopped, raised his sword, and stares at Shao Zi, “Evildoer from where, quickly retreat.”
Shao Zi smiled, “Not bad, soul is incomplete but can still see me. I do not have malice intent. Just wanted to tell you that Yun Chang is waiting for you.”
Priest still lowers his voice, “Evildoer, if you do not leave, then don’t blame me for exorcising you.”
Shao Zi has no better option, but to move a bit back and mutters, “Really have forgotten everything except subduing demons.”
Daoist priest’s pace paused, and looked up toward the sky in that direction. He saw a group of gloomy clouds with ghost energy. The yin energy is quite heavy. Immediately toes point, and he quickly rushes towards that direction.
Shao Zi hurriedly followed after. That direction is that of Tong Fu inn. Yun Chang really understands this priest. Although she does not know what happened between them in the past, but Yun Chang is no match for the priest. If she is not careful then he will beat her to the point of her soul dispersing. She (Shao Zi) does not know whether she (Yun Chang) is foolish or stubborn.

Finally reaching the inn’s main door, the priest’s left hand held the sword, his right hand hold a magic bottle gourd, and he began to chant a spell Shao Zi cannot understand. He ran back and forth for several laps, yell out, and a layer of the iris appears that pierces the clouds, blasting out the white light. In an instant, the sky and ground changed color—bright as day. Squall flits by, and made Shao Zi trembled. Vaguely hearing the painful cries of Yun Chang as she supports against the pillars of the house, and looks down at the priest.
Shao Zi bit her teeth, waved, and pressed her throat, “You better leave. Were you planning to be sucked along with the spell into the magic bottle gourd? ”
Yun Chang’s white clothes flutter about, almost as if immersing into the white light, with her black hair being visible and the ringing sounds of steps (the dangling ornament) heard. Mixed within the wind, Shao Zi’s heart was also deeply troubled.
She thought for long yet was still unclear. In the end how much kindness was owe that one was willing to go through such torture. Three hundred times, each painful like so.
“Finally found [you].”
A voice as cold as ice rang behind. Just when Shao Zi turned around, the coldness rushed to her face, and she focused her gaze (composing herself) to see that it’s a wild boar demon. Shao Zi stopped for a bit. This wild boar is born with a brutish force and steel-like skin. Furthermore, he has at least nine hundred years of cultivation/power.
Wild boar demon also saw her, and said with a sharp gaze, “Could it be that you also here to steal the priest’s soul?”
Shao Zi laughs hollowly two sounds. In her heart she reckon this wild boar wants to steal priest’s soul. Cannot help oneself be angry, this is clearly a monster/demon, not a ghost ah, Yun Chang mei! If she had known so she would have ditched this trouble, okay. Wild boar’s ill temperament and unreasonable. If he were to create a mess in the inn, then how to deal with? She smiled apologetically, “How could I? I’m merely watching.”
The wild boar looked at Shao Zi from head to toe. Thinks that she does not have the guts and said, “Get lost.”
Shao Zi bent, “Will go, will go.” When she took two steps, she saw him stretched out his hoof to ambush the priest who’s preoccupied with casting the spell. She gritted her teeth and picked up a stone. She breathes one breath and tiptoed behind him, lifting her hand to smash his head.
Unexpectedly, the water poured down from heaven, splashed into “The mantis stalks the cicada and unaware of oriole behind” formation. The priest’s battle spell formation suddenly disappeared, and wild boar demon hollered. Shao Zi was dumbfounded. The three looked up and only saw a man with gray outfit holding a bra.s.s basin. He did not see them and contently said to himself, “Every night soak feet in warm water to sleep, such a good thing on earth ah.”
… Water, wash, feet! The three were petrified…
Shao Zi wiped the water on her face, and looked ahead to see that the wild boar demon has disappeared and the priest was wiping his magic gourd that was stained with dirty water. She’s suspicious and looks at the second floor, this Scholar … Really was it intentional or unintentional. There’s no reason every time it would be so coincidental like this. Also … Shao Zi sniffed the dirty water on her body—it can drive away the boar demon away, was it really just feet water? She carefully ponders and checks to find out that nothing was mixed in the water.
Spoon secretly fisted: tomorrow she will find out the true face of that Scholar! This guy must not be normal!
