Ahh… Everyone’s hating Zhong Zhen Dong to a certain extent, and it’s definitely warranted. At least the torture Xin Lian had to suffer alone with her son has finally ended… (hopefully) Let’s hope this is the start of Zhen Dong’s redemption!!
Chapter 35
She was caught in a nightmare once again. She didn’t dare to leave her house, and when it was time to go to sleep, she’d hold a baseball bat while staring at the door as she kept watch the whole night beside her sleeping son.
No matter where she went, Yuan Jun Hao somehow always had a way to find her. He was like a shadow that relentlessly followed her. Within a month, her complexion started to darken, and dark circles formed under her eyes. From the continuous torment, she quickly stopped resembling a human, which caused Cheng Cheng to become afraid and cry.
“Mommy, what’s wrong?” Cheng Cheng hugged his mother, his small face looking up at her.
Tang Xin Lian looked down at her son. She saw tear stains on his face, and his pure eyes were filled with worry and fear.
Her tears finally fell as she hugged her son. She cried as she said, “I’m sorry, mom originally wanted to give you a stable and happy childhood, and raise you up properly, but now you’re also subjected to fear along with me. We move to a different place everyday, you can’t go to school, you can’t eat well or sleep well… Mom is really useless.”
She cried and Cheng Cheng also began to cry. The both of them hugged each other while they cried for a long time.
Tang Xin Lian couldn’t help blaming G.o.d. Why was her luck so bad that she was doomed to be hara.s.sed by bad men, unable to avoid them? Thinking about this, she was reminded of Zhong Zhen Dong. Compared to other men, he was actually alright.
Apart from pretending to be gay to get close to her, he didn’t really do anything bad to her. Furthermore, he said he’d protect her and her son…
Probably because she was scared by Yuan Jun Hao, she started thinking about the positive aspects of Zhong Zhen Dong. Even though she didn’t love him, this man still treated her pretty well. He was very generous, so why not accept his offer?
The most important thing was, she really couldn’t let her son suffer hards.h.i.+ps with her. She had enough of pa.s.sing every day with this kind of anxiety and fear. She surrendered.
As a result, she picked up the hotel’s phone and dialed a number.
At the other end of the line, a person quickly picked up.
“h.e.l.lo.” It was Zhong Zhen Dong’s voice.
“It’s me.”
“Xin Lian?”
“Yes…”
“Are you crying?”
“Big brother Zhong, save me…”
After she finally showed her weakness, Zhong Zhen Dong’s steady voice came from the receiver.
“Where are you? I’ll come pick you up.”
Tang Xin Lian sniffled as she told him her address. Zhong Zhen Dong promised to leave immediately, and told her to obediently wait for him.
After hanging up the phone, the corner of Zhong Zhen Dong’s mouth lifted into a smile. He had always known her whereabouts; from the moment she left her apartment, he had people follow her.
In truth, letting the little white rabbit suffer from fear for that long also caused him to be very distressed, but in order to get her, he had to do this to force her to give in.
After he got her back, he’ll make it up to her.

Tang Xin Lian and her son followed Zhong Zhen Dong back to the North, thus concluding their life of hiding.
Zhong Zhen Dong brought them to his hotel, where she slept very soundly until the afternoon of the following day. This slumber was like it made up for all the days she didn’t have a good night’s sleep.
Opening her eyes, she saw Zhong Zhen Dong, who was laying down beside her and smiling at her.
“Finally awake, sleeping beauty?” He teasingly said.
Waking up a little drowsy, she gradually became more clear-headed. The expression Zhong Zhen Dong watched her with was different from the past; there was an extra layer of fieriness and desire. She also discovered that she was using his arm as a pillow. Because she was so tired yesterday, she fell asleep as soon as she got on the bed. It was only now that she realized she slept in his bed and in his arms. He was also using an intimate tone while speaking to her. The atmosphere between them was already different.
Tang Xin Lian understood that it was her that took the initiative to seek Zhong Zhen Dong for help, which meant that she had to accept his conditions and become his woman.
Thinking of this, she felt embarra.s.sed and somewhat uncertain of what to do. However, she still pretended to be calm while she asked, “Where’s Cheng Cheng?”
“I let someone send him to school already.”
“Did he eat breakfast? What about his uniform? And his school bag – -”
“Don’t worry, I went to the apartment last night to get his uniform and school bag. He’s also eaten a very rich breakfast, so he can neatly and without worry return to school. I even personally sent him to his cla.s.sroom, greeted the teacher, and created a good reason so he won’t be criticized by others for leaving for so long.”
Hearing this, Tang Xin Lian felt her heart unclench and relax. She thought that because she was too tired, she didn’t take care of certain matters, but Zhong Zhen Dong already took care of it, and even handled it very well.
With him, she felt that every challenge could be easily solved, and every situation could be settled effortlessly.
She had to admit that Zhong Zhen Dong was very reliable. At his side, her burdens were lifted. It was as if even if the sky fell down, he would be there to support it. He was capable of managing everything, which was also why she slept so soundly last night.
“Thank you.” She sincerely said.
“Besides ‘thank you’, what else?”
She lifted her eyes and met his burning gaze. Her heart trembled. She knew what he meant, and her face reddened.
