Chapter 12
A Fateful Mistake
Looking at where the voice came from, Pang Jing Dong found two bulky men walking toward him with stern looks on their faces. Judging from their stiff movements, they were carrying some weapons on their waists.
"Who are these guys?" all kinds of possibilities flew across his mind. "I came back here recently, so I wouldn't have offended anyone. These guys don't look like my past enemies; They are more like gangsters. Maybe they are hired by someone?"
In the meantime, the two guys had arrived before Pang Jing Dong. In this kind of situation, it was better to be pre-emptive, exactly how Pang Jing Dong reacted instinctively.
Pang Jing Dong threw a fly kick at one of the guys' chest, knocking him back a few steps, causing him to lose balance and fell to the ground in a sitting motion. The other guy who was stunned for a moment took out a machete from his waist.
Not waiting for the guy to slash at him, Pang Jing Dong secured the guy's wrist which was holding the weapon and twisted it backward with force. With a cracking sound, the guy released a painful cry and dropped the machete onto the floor.
"Get him!" A sudden uproar took place around him.
Pang Jing Dong took a quick glance at his surroundings, before an uneasy feeling came up to his mind, "Looks like these guys are their friends too!"
There were around ten of them, each drawing out weapons while walking closer to him. In that instant, a person came running to his side and said to him in a soft voice, "come with me quick!" Upon saying this, the person grabbed his wrist and started running.
The stranger led Pang Jing Dong into an alley. It seemed like he was very familiar with the place, turning into corners without hesitation. They were too fast for the chasers, who were soon left behind. They kept running until they could no longer hear any noise behind them which indicated they had successfully escaped. The two of them sat down on the spot and started resting.
Even though their stamina was not bad, they found themselves panting after the extreme exercise. After catching up to his breath, Pang Jing Dong said to the stranger, "Thank you!"
"Thank you!" the stranger said to Pang Jing Dong at the same time. After a brief pause, he asked, "Did Brother Tony send you?"
"Who?"
"You're not from Tony's Nightclub?"
"Tony's Nightclub?" Pang Jing Dong had no idea what he was talking about.
The stranger was confused too, "If you are not one of Tony's men, why did you save me?"
"Save you?" Pang Jing Dong realized something and asked the guy immediately, "What's your name?"
"Peng Jing Dong!" The guy took out a bag of tissue; he took a piece of tissue paper and wiped his sweat, before handing the bag to Pang Jing Dong asking, "What's yours?"
"Pang Jing Dong!" said Pang Jing Dong while holding back his laugh.
Peng Jing Dong looked stunned for a moment before he burst out laughing.
"What the f**k!" the two of them yelled out at the same time.
"If that's the case, I think it's our fate to have such an encounter. Let's introduce each other!" said Pang Jing Dong with a smile. He reached out his hand and introduced himself, "Pang Jing Dong, a small employee at a real estate company!"
"Yeah, such a coincidence that our names are so alike, and to meet in such a way!" Peng Jing Dong shook Pang Jing Dong's hand warm-heartedly and said, "My name is Peng Jing Dong. I'm in charge of the Public Relations for Tony's Nightclub."
"Public relations…" Upon hearing this, Pang Jing Dong thoroughly inspected the person before him.
Peng Jing Dong was tall, and his skin tone was fair, which gave him a handsome appearance. He talked softly and had a weak scent of ladylike perfume. He was wearing a pair of skinny jeans and a half-transparent T-s.h.i.+rt.
With his image, together with his occupation involving ‘Public Relations’, Pang Jing Dong had managed to guess his ident.i.ty.
"I a.s.sume, you misheard your name when those people were calling my name, didn't you?" Peng Jing Dong could not stop laughing.
"Well you got that right, I did mishear my name!"
"Anyways, let's be friends!" Peng Jing Dong took out his business card, and sincerely handed it to Pang Jing Dong.
The card was beautifully designed, with the same scent of perfume. On the card wrote "Jing Dong, Public Relation Manager of Tony's Nightclub", the rest were some contact details.
"If you have any social connections, do help me, your younger brother out with my business!" Peng Jing Dong appeared to be around his twenties; Thus he could indeed refer to himself as a younger brother.
"Do I look like someone that can help you?" Pang Jing Dong answered with a grin.
"I could tell from your imposing appearance, that you are no ordinary person. Feel free to bring your friends to the nightclub, and if you mention my name, you'll get 20% discount."
Pang Jing Dong's reply indicated he had rejected Peng Jing Dong's request. As Peng Jing Dong realized this guy was too smart for him, he switched his stance and treated Pang Jing Dong like a potential customer.
"As expected for one doing Public Relations, this guy's pretty clever." Pang Jing Dong thought.
Peng Jing Dong did not stop there, he continued, "From today onwards, you will be my elder brother. Brother, do you have a business card?"
"I'm just a small employee. How would I have my own business card?"
"Brother, am I not worthy enough to get your card!" said Peng Jing Dong while pretending to be angry.
"Give me another business card of yours! Do you have a pen on you?"
Pang Jing Dong received another card from Peng Jing Dong. He added his surname 'Pang' before 'Jing Dong' and scribbled out the contact details, then wrote his contact number on it.
As he still had a date with Shen Jia Yao, Pang Jing Dong did not plan on wasting more time. He put Peng Jing Dong's business card in his wallet and excused himself.
As for the trouble Peng Jing Dong got himself into, Pang Jing Dong was not interested at all. For those people whose work involved Public Relations, their troubles would always involve females. I got dragged into this mess just because I misheard a single word, how unfortunate can I be.
Pang Jing Dong tidied up his appearance and entered the restaurant where Shen Jia Yao had waited a long time.
"Boss Pang, you seem to be busy! I have been waiting since half a day ago!" said Shen Jia Yao with a mocking tone.
"I don't have a car, so I have to walk all the way here!"
"Didn't take a cab?"
"With the little salary you are giving me, it is just enough for my daily needs, do you think I still have money for a taxi ride?!"
"In one month's time, the number of days you've been late to work is equivalent to half a month. I'm too generous even to give you this much!" said Shen Jia Yao, who stacked her right leg on top of her left leg in a natural manner.
Shen Jia Yao was wearing a flaming-red, one-piece dress, with its length reaching her shoes. It had an opening high up in the middle, which allowed Pang Jing Dong to see a pair of fair, slim and long legs with ease. When Shen Jia Yao raised her leg, Pang Jing Don was almost able to see the deeper region through the gap.
"Are you looking at me, or this dress?" asked Shen Jia Yao after noticing Pang Jing Dong's glare.
"The beauty of a dress could only be shown by the person wearing it!"
"How well am I showing it?" Shen Jia Yao extended her arms, presenting the dress to Pang Jing Dong. As she was moving, the cloth around her chest was tightened, showing her firm and mountain-like b.r.e.a.s.t.s, which lined out a graceful curve ending on her lower abdomen. Her slim waist appeared to be so fragile that one had to grip it with minimum force.
