Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha Chapter 24

Part 1

It seems that somehow, the so called “my expectation” is always betrayed.

I thought so due to the spectacle spreading before me after the torrent of light which happened due to the transfer formation is receding.

There was high ceiling and stone venue.

It’s common scenery, I can guess that this place might be a labyrinth.

This is a unique s.p.a.ce in which even if you fire your magical power to the wall, it’ll be immediately absorbed.

Could it be that this is the continuation of the untrespa.s.sed area of water and moon labyrinth?

I don’t know about that, but, there’s something more important than that.

The thing which right in front of my eyes are gigantic demon, moreover, there’s the figure of that man which apparently injured.

The man is undoubtly the man who came following me, even while collapsing on that spot, I know that it’s him by his equipment and hair style.

But, it seems he’s still breathing.

While seemingly dull, his limbs still moving.

If I’m not saving him…….

But, the thing which interrupting me is right there.

The demon.

A gigantic one, yet have extremely familiar appearance to me.

Composed only with bone, the thing which wandering forever without life.

Bone Man《Skeleton》―― And the one in that place was it’s higher species, Bone Giant（Giant Skeleton）.

The “getageta” laughing-like sound of it’s bone clicking is resounding in the reception hall, it’s foot steps as it’s walking is greatly shaking the ground which you can’t think of a being that only made of bone.

That thing, was the demon which you must have escape from if you happens to meet one in the labyrinth.

Bone Giant(Giant Skeleton) is,  not just a Bone Man《Skeleton》 which turning into a giant.

Beside Bone Man, that demon which carried giant element have more than two no, three times the power and speed of normal Bone Man《Skeleton》 .

Naturally, it’s physical strength also become extremely powerful, if you’re hit by it, you definitely will be blown away.

And, fighting against that thing？

No matter how much stronger I become but, that’s a foolish choice.

But, the man is right under it’s feet.

Seeing that I can’t abandoning him, I’ve no other choice.

Moreover, I don’t see any pa.s.sage in this reception hall.

I have a certain recollection in this kind of room.

――It’s boss room.

It’s a unique room which once you go inside, you won’t be able to left no matter how much you want unless either you kill, or killed by the master of the room.

That was quite famous story.

But, normally you won’t meet this kind of room.

Anyhow, because the entrance toward those room always open in order to retreat when you can’t beat the boss, those are the commonly known boss room.

Otherwise, the mortality rate of the adventurers might reach extremely high count, in the first place, even if there’s the people who can beat it, it’ll decreasing it’s worth.

Which means that just how important being able to retreat, for this reason, the adventurer are progressing which steadily increasing their own skill.

Part 2

But, the greatest trial of that kind of adventurer was the boss room of impossible-to-escape- type.

There’s many of such case in the boss room of the labyrinth which un-trespa.s.sed by anyone yet.

Yet, even without that, having say so, the risk of the boss room also increasing beyond 40 layers*. [TL* : not sure–またそうでなくとも、四十層を越えるとそう言ったボス部屋も増えてくる、とも言われている。]

In short, the funamental things which one must have to capture this kind of boss room is with only people composed of top cla.s.s even amongst adventurer, moreover almost none of the beginner, intermediate or, advanced one who’s not going beyond 40 layer have entering those kind of room.

And, despite of that.

It seems this place is exactly that kind of room.

This is already “I have no choice but to prepare myself“.

Might be something like that.

I draw my sword to facing against the Bone Giant（Giant Skeleton）.

Fortunately, the Bone Giant（Giant Skeleton） change it’s attention to me at the same time I appearing.

As for the man under it’s feet who’s already gasping it’s breath, it seems it already not interested in him.

I won’t be able to save him if I didn’t settle this quickly.

I’m kicking the ground as I think so.

My body’s launching forward with speed incomparable to when I’m alive and instantly arrived under the foot of Bone Giant（Giant Skeleton）.

And then I raise my sword overhead and slas.h.i.+ng with all of my power to that foot.

But.

――GAKIIN*！ [SFX]

The sword is repelled along with that sound.

And then, downward fist of giant fist is came right after that toward me.

This is bad, and I’m taking some distance from it in panic.

Of course, I don’t forget to s.n.a.t.c.hing that fallen man to separating him from the  Bone Giant（Giant Skeleton）.

If I  just leave him alone, I fear that he might be trampled to death soon.

FOrtunately, the destructive power of the Bone Giant（Giant Skeleton） aside, it seems I’m still somewhat faster than it.

Since it’s my first combat against it, despite the detailed account of it’s power isn’t known to me, if it’s this, I might be able to do something about it.

As I think so, I put down that man at the edge of the reception hall and then das.h.i.+ng beneath the  Bone Giant（Giant Skeleton） for the second time.

The problem is how to deliver damage to this extremely tough bone. [TL : That giant have it’s fill of calcium when still alive]

My previous attack was equivalent to my greatest attack with the qi infused one.

But, it’s not even put a scratch on it, at this rate, it’ll be hard to win against it.

Part 3

If it’s the usual case, it’s already checkmate.

No matter how many times faster one is, it’ll be finished if one have no way to deliver some damage.

One stamina will be used up sooner or later, and it’ll be the end once being attacked in that situation.

The being called demon of the labyrinth is an enigma, it say that the must have thing for the demon in the boss room is to inexhaustible stamina.

The reason is maybe because it’s receiving the power from labyrinth or maybe because it have inexhaustible stamina, though there’s various theory, most of that fact is distunguished after a long time by the adventurers.

In short, having a wish to exhausting the stamina of the demon in the boss room is meaningless.

That’s why, if ones have no offensive ability to  cut it, that’s the end for them.

After pondering about various things like that, the current me who’s placing in this kind of situation seems to be hopeless.

But, for me who’s different from the common adventurer, I might be able to do it.

Though I’m not a clergy, I have an extremely unique power, Reiki.

On the contrary, despite it’s huge build, since it’s root is that of Undying(Undead), it might be receiving considerable amount of damage if I’m using the purificaiton power of Reiki.

Though you might say that if I have such trump card, it’s better to using it from the very beginning, there’s a reason for why I’m not using it.

That’s of course because in the first place I’m not that skilled in using Reiki, in addition, there’s a problem with my weapon.

Despite it’s a good sword which made by Clove, it’s not made with the intention to pouring Reiki in it.

Therefore, even if I’m fighting using my Reiki, there was a problem in how long the weapon endurance will last.

But……………

If I’m not using this weapon in this place, me and that man will have no choice but to die.

Seeing that there’s something that I can do, I must try it.

That was the meaning of an adventurer.

Though fighting till bitter end without giving up is also what is means of an adventurer.

After steeling my resolution, I poured my Reiki into the sword.

The sword which was wearing pale golden color aura of Qi up till now is starting to releasing pure pale blue colored aura of Reiki.

In seeing that, maybe because the Bone Giant(Giant Skeleton) felt something, it started to retreating few steps back.

The power of purification is the nemesis of Undying(Undead). [TL : What about you?]

I can understand it’s fear.

Why is that me who is a Corpse Eating Demon(Ghoul)  can keep my composure is a mystery but, in the first place the matter of me turned into a Bone Man《Skeleton》itself is an enigma.

Worrying about that at this late hours is useless, I just grateful if I can use it now.

And then, I kicking the ground with every bit of my leg power in order to give highest power to the swing of my sword to the Bone Giant(Giant Skeleton) .

I, who pouring plenty enough power of Qi into my legs is before long shortening the great distance between me and the Bone Giant(Giant Skeleton) and then, arrived below it’s feet.

By the time the Bone Giant(Giant Skeleton) noticed that, it’s already too late.

I raise my sword overhead and swing it downward to the leg of the Bone Giant(Giant Skeleton) which look like trunk of a tree.

And then, the instant I feel that my sword struck, the leg of Bone Giant(Giant Skeleton) is severed like melting b.u.t.ter.

When I completed the swing of my sword, the Bone Giant(Giant Skeleton) already lost one of it’s legs, and then having it’s balance greatly destroyed, it’s crumbling as it’s unable to support it’s large build.

In such great gap which created by that fall, I ran up toward the cranium of Bone Giant(Giant Skeleton) and then it was broken after I’m slas.h.i.+ng it with my sword with everything I got.
