Chapter 1012 The Reborn Young Master’s Pampered Cousin(10)
Qi Chimu remained composed. Regardless of the motive, with a doctor and a charcoal stove, he would be able to get through the catastrophe.
If his body did not collapse, it would be the greatest possible result.
The next day, Qi Chimu was already able to get up and eat congee.
The kitchen had sent over warm food, as well as boiled medicine.
He observed for a moment, then picked up a silver needle to test them, for fear that there was something mixed in that shouldn’t be there.
Only after discovering no problems did he slowly and elegantly give it a taste.
Before rebirth, his body had been cold and weak. His spleen and stomach were out of balance, so eating too quickly would add to the strain on his body.
This caused him to eat slowly.
Halfway through eating, Qi Chimu heard the soft crunch of footsteps in the snow.
Then he heard the familiar soft and sticky voice of that girl.
“Why is this road so hard to walk on? Did they not think of fixing the path while building the manor?”
Maid: “This is a relatively remote place in the manor, so it’s possible that they forgot.”
When Qi Chimu heard this, he indifferently lowered his head, unhurriedly stirring the congee in the bowl with his spoon.
Soon, there came a knock on the door.
To think there were people who knew to knock on the door.
Qi Chimu paused, not making a sound.
Bai Weiwei impatiently stomped her feet. “Just open the door, it’s freezing.”
Qi Chimu gave a snort, then put away the cold light light in his eyes and calmly got up.
The door opened, letting in the cold outside wind. Then came a rush of footsteps.
Qi Chimu unconsciously raised his eyes and saw a girl wearing a light-colored skirt and a fox-fur cloak. Her face was fair and delicate, as beautiful as the snow outside the window.
She looked at him, greeting him in a clear voice. “Biao ge.”
Qi Chimu spoke softly. “Why did you still come out on such a cold day?”
Yesterday, his mind had not been clear, his att.i.tude towards her too fierce.
After all, this was still the Bai manor, and he currently had nothing. When it was the time to be patient, he would be patient.
There was no benefit in pus.h.i.+ng himself forward.
Bai Weiwei pulled out a hand warmer from her sleeves and placed it on the table. Then, she sat on the chair, looking at him with her face cupped in her hand.
She gave a deliberately coquettish smile. “Came to see if you were alright.”
Qi Chimu grew more vigilant in his heart, but he let nothing show on his face.
“The doctor biao mei called over prescribed some medicine. After a few doses, I am almost all better.”
Bai Weiwei’s gaze was a bit s.h.i.+fty, as though she were looking for something, and her tone was a bit halfhearted. “As long as you’re better. You should know that this is your home. If there is something you want, just give out a command.”
Home?
Qi Chimu smiled darkly, but he did not answer.
Bai Weiwei was restless in her seat.
Qi Chimu finally spoke up. “We are all family. If there is something biao mei wishes for me to do, simply say it.”
Bai Weiwei hesitated. “Really?”
Qi Chimu nodded, smiling softly. “I will do my utmost to help you.”
Bai Weiwei promptly stood up. “Then I’ll come see you tomorrow ba.”
Qi Chimu: “…”
Then he watched Bai Weiwei immediately turn around and leave.
There was still no trace of reluctance to part.
Qi Chimu silently looked at the open door. The cold breeze rushed in, carrying with it the orchid scent on her body.
Then he continued to slowly eat the cooled congee.
Inwardly, he continued to guess at her purpose.
In any case, whatever her motive, wait until his body healed. If she bullied him, he would slowly put things in order.
Not one of them would get away.
On the third day, Bai Weiwei came again, exchanged some pleasantries with Qi Chimu, and left again.
Even if it was just sitting for a while.
The servants of the manor, as people with extensive experience, immediately showed better att.i.tudes towards Qi Chimu.
